To me, this song is about two people who could never truly be together. Maybe they met when they were young, but the timing was off, and they couldn’t make it work. They still long for each other, meet up in their dreams each night, and know they will eventually find their way back to each other, even if it is in another life.❤️
This is a declaration of love. Someone he forgot to tell how much they mattered. He refused to grow up, she Moved on. So he goes on a quest to find himself to only realize he already found what he was looking for but wasn’t ready to see it. That’s how I feel it. It will change to something else as life evolves. If a song always means the same thing to you it shows no depth
Deep into the night With the moonlight as my guide I go wander through the pines And make my way to nature's shrine And I look up to the sky And I know you're still alive But I wonder where you are I call your name into the dark I wake up in the morning, oh And I don't know where I've been All alone on a mountainside And I'm huddled in the wind And it feels like I've been away for an era But nothing has changed at all And it feels like I've been with you, oh But what did we do, and where have you gone? On the night you disappeared Oh, if I had seen it clear But a strange light in the sky Was shining right into my eyes There was no one else in sight Just the endless frozen pines But I wonder all they know 'Cause they don't die and they don't grow I am ready to follow you Even though I don't know where I will wait in the night until You decide to take me there 'Cause I know I don't wanna stay here forever It's time to be movin' on Oh, I don't want to be the only one living When all of my friends are gone I will be waiting for you On the other side of the frozen pines I'm gonna find a way through There's another life beyond the line I will be waiting for you On the other side of the frozen pines I'm gonna find a way through There's another life beyond the line
He died before his loved one (perhaps in an accident they were both in), and he’s waiting for them in death so they can cross together into the next life.
Is this song about werewolves and alien abductions. I know I sound like a nut, but if you watch the lyrics closely, yes "watch" and not only "listen" , ... he makes his way to nature's shrine, .. clearly a forest; right? That sounds like a werewolf who goes out at night and can't remember anything the the next morning. Now, at 2:06, unless I'm mistaken, he mentions a "strange light" shining right into his eyes" this sounds like an alien light shining into his eyes and again, this too might cause him to not remember what he's seen and done the night before. Lastly, ... the end of the song sounds like he's referring to an afterlife.
lord huron did an interview on NPR radio and specifically said this song was about a ufo abduction. the 3 songs "Meet me in the woods" "The yawning grave" and "Frozen pines" are all connected and tell a story about 2 lovers that meet in the woods, go missing, a native American ranger goes looking for them and only finds one of them after he warned them to not go into the woods alone.
Falling in love with how spooky this bands songs are

Man. This group. So simple but so evocative.
This song feels like its about death and loss. It's so hauntingly beautiful.

That's is very true , I see it as my cousin who passed away from cancer .the whole song is about him🖤💕 I'll miss him
I wonder if anyone else has thought of this, but this would be a really suitable theme song for a game known as "The Long Dark"
I'm in love with this song.
Deep into the night
With the moonlight as my guide
I go wander through the pines
And make my way to nature's shrine
And I look up to the sky
And I know you're still alive
But I wonder where you are
I call your name into the dark
I wake up in the morning, oh
And I don't know where I've been
All alone on a mountainside
And I'm huddled in the wind
And it feels like I've been away for an era
But nothing has changed at all
And it feels like I've been with you, oh
But what did we do, and where have you gone?
On the night you disappeared
Oh, if I had seen it clear
But a strange light in the sky
Was shining right into my eyes
There was no one else in sight
Just the endless frozen pines
But I wonder all they know
'Cause they don't die and they don't grow
I am ready to follow you
Even though I don't know where
I will wait in the night until
You decide to take me there
'Cause I know I don't wanna stay here forever
It's time to be movin' on
Oh, I don't want to be the only one living
When all of my friends are gone
I will be waiting for you
On the other side of the frozen pines
I'm gonna find a way through
There's another life beyond the line
I will be waiting for you
On the other side of the frozen pines
I'm gonna find a way through
There's another life beyond the line
Ever feel like there’s so much more to you than anyone ever seems to notice
I think if I were a song, this would be me 🌲🌲

fucking totally. He's definitely in a purgatory. when he looks up at the sky, he sees her still living a life in the world he's no longer a part of.
Every song they sing is a weiner to me. Love you guy's take me to the other world 🌎 🎉

Gravity Falls again...
*I have found my people*
I think this song might be about growing in general.
It’s about alien abduction, dude witnessed his girl get nabbed and he’s hoping she’ll return.
❤❤❤❤
This song is about alien abduction
This would suit a studio on Scratch perfectly
I hate to be that person but.. The First Tree, anyone?
If you mean the game, then I know
Heavily veiled in allegory, this seems to suggest an inspirational abduction/ encounter story??? Whitley Strieber eat you heart out!
Steve O if you listen to the full album, he talks a lot about death, so it's probably the afterlife, or a NDE.
Webb Glauner You're right. Strange Trails is the album where he talks the most about supernatural things.
phsycedelic experience

Maybe because of "The Night we met" by the same artist.
