As someone who pretty much lived a parallel life to Danae, thank you for this podcast. Because of this episode, I'm going to continue to work on healing my inner-child who experienced much of what she did. I've truly never felt so seen or understood. I grew up knowing I was a lesbian in a conservative Lutheran family and I experienced many of the same traumas. It's inspirational to see a success story come out of so much trauma and pain. I'm still working on regaining my health after years of chronic physical health issues and the mental health issues that tend to go hand-in-hand with living this life. I played D1 softball in the mid-90s. We didn't have anyone to relate to. We didn't see anyone like Danae in the public eye. You are saving lives with this podcast. My 18-30+ yo self, who struggled with thoughts of leaving this world because I felt like something was wrong with me, thanks you for sharing your story and vulnerability! ✌️💗🌈
This broke my heart. I can’t imagine ever losing contact with my child. Even the thought of her not talking to me guts me! I went over and hugged her and got the “you’re so weird” look.
This conversation was an absolute DELIGHT start to end. Thank you! 💜
😍😍😍❤️ thank you Alice!! 🫂
