      Hey! Thanks so much for reaching out 🙂
      I'm so happy for you to open your own shop
      ❤️
      When I started mine over 5-years ago, there were NO resources on TH-cam or even online. So I feel it's my part of giving back to others who definitely need it.
      If we can all serve delicious bubble tea, it will become more loved by all, and in return more people will buy it which means higher profits for shop owners around the world 🧋😻
      I totally understand trial and error... It's a monthly fun game really in creating new drinks! But if you like the end results, and your customers like it, that what matters most 😇
      All the best to you!!!🥰

      Hi Dominika,
      You're so kind. Thank you. 😇😁
      I'm able to create a bespoke equipment list for my clients depending on what sort of recipes and drinks they are serving, however in the US there isn't one supplier that I found to be perfect for everything. But my clients have given me feedback from different ones they've used which I share privately.
      Feel free to email me through my website and we can set up a free 15 minute voice consultation call, which I offered to all prospective clients. This helps both of us to know if or what areas you might be needing help with and where I can be of assistance.
      Thank you 😊

    Thank you for the great info. Question- after you soak the boba in the sugar solution, do you discard the solution after 15 minutes of soaking? If you soak it too long, ie 4 hours, will the boba get mushy?

    • @BubbleTeaKristin
      @BubbleTeaKristin  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello pixs4family. 🙋🏼‍♀️ After the cooked tapioca pearls have been cleaned and then soaking in the sweet solution for 15-minutes, they're ready to be consumed. KEEP THEM IN IT! If you take them out, they'll become a giant clump and nobody wants that. 😂 After 4-hours, serve up new boba and new solution. And always add new boba to new solution if adding in a small quantity of new boba to top it up... I always kept new separate from old, and staff served older first and then newer so there's no confusion and the 'old' doesn't get too 'old'. Hopefully this all makes sense. 🤣

    Thank you so much for helpful information. Can you tell me what is the size of your hot water boiler? What would you recommend for a big 10,000 outdoor event as a tent vendor? How do you make sure you have enough bubbles and teas throughout the day? I am planning to get one of each 12 litter black and jasmine tea urns. A 30 cup (dry ride) commercial rice cooker? Any idea, suggestions I would appreciate very much. You are an excellent teacher. 👍❤️💐

    • @BubbleTeaKristin
      @BubbleTeaKristin  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The size of my hot water boiler was around 30 L. It was a manual fill. Honestly doing a large event is just trial and error. I usually recommend people to start smaller at maybe a farmers market or small kiosk, and then work their way up to big events. Because the biggest issue that you will have at big events will be running out of ice, having waste you're unable to dispose of potentially, and an electricity supply. If you are able to get fresh water during the event, then that will be a bonus. But ice will probably be the biggest difficulty especially if you are in the middle of a field and it will take an hour or more round trip to go get more. But nobody wants to spend all of their profits on ice which is wasted at the end of the day. There are so many factors for an event such as who the customers there, what is the target market in terms of culture and taste preferences, pricing, etc. And in terms of the recipes, there are big batch recipes or made to order recipes, but trying to keep things as simple as possible with as little waste at the end of the day is key. And for calculating the recipes, it's all multiplication. However even then the flavor may not turn out exactly right so you'll need to trial an error large batches in advance. It will be a lot of work and a huge learning curve for you, but hopefully in the end you will be able to make a profit and have learned a lot so then that way the next time you do a large event you will already have notes from the previous one on how to improve. That's all business is just making sure that you improve from every event every single time to get better and better until you have it perfected and can continue to divide and conquer. 😍😍😍 Good luck!!!

    Hi kristen, would light brown sugar work with this recipe? Or it has to be regular brown sugar? Thank you 😊

    • @BubbleTeaKristin
      @BubbleTeaKristin  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hello Minahu,
      I always like to experiment with different flavor combinations. In this scenario if you are making a large batch, I would have pre-purchased light brown, medium brown, and dark brown. And I would just change the ratio slightly and make three small batches of the solution to put the boba in. Then after 15 minutes of it sitting, use a spoon and strain out a few of the pearls starting with the lightest and working your way up and then see which one you prefer the best. 💕💕💕
      Hope this helps!

However any bubble tea middle-man supplier should be offering Grade-A pearls. If they don't... I would second guess the rest of their products...

    I love your teaching. my ONLY concern is contamination from the sink when you first pour into the strainer. The level in the sink looks to meet the boba in the strainer, and that is a disaster if there is ANY contaminants in the sink (and most home sinks are filthy even after being cleaned). I suggest placing the strainer on an upside-down dish to raise it above the bottom of the sink. This goes for anything you are straining. Fruits, pasta, boba....careful of cross-contamination! :-)

      @nihalgaming2003 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      There's always that one person who has make issues out of nothing, idk if ur blind or something, but if u look properly there is a 1in stand on the strainer, so it won't touch. You didn't even double check before commenting.

    • @theMNswede
      @theMNswede ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Nihal Gaming I did watch it, and I went and rewatched it just now, and if you look, the level of the liquid in the sink is so high it reaches past the curve of the bottom of the colander/strainer, which increases chance of cross-contamination.
      I posted something positive with a safety concern. I didn't judge or disparage the channel or the author. You should try that sometime.

    Hi! You show storing the cooked boba in a rice cooker during the day and warming for 5-10 mins every 1.5-2 hours.
    I'm going to offer tapioca pearls as a topping in my frozen yogurt shop. Should I only put as much out in the toppings bar that will be used within 2 hours? And then refill from the rice cooker? Thanks!

    • @BubbleTeaKristin
      @BubbleTeaKristin  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Jennifer.
      I think I understand your concept. Basically you have a froyo shop, and there is a toppings bar that customers can help themselves to after they got their soft serve? I just want to make sure you're not putting the cooked boba into a refrigerated section of it... (some use fruits and are kept cold from underneath).
      If it's room temp type toppings, then yes, just put it in a smaller size gastro-norm pan, enough for a handful of people to help themselves at a time... and top it up throughout the day. Because as it sits there, it will become cold and hard.
      Sounds like a fun idea!
      If it becomes so popular you can't keep it topped up, then I would option for a small 'soup' holder. it's a very low temp warmer to keep soup in. They come in all shapes and sizes. Just put a picture of the cooked boba on the outside so people know what's inside. Also, opt for a heavier brown sugar solution. Thicker ratio of the brown sugar to water... this is currently most popular for these kids today. 😂😂😂 You can find images on social for what I'm talking about - right up you alley 👍🏼.

      I've made a note for part of a future video idea.
      But yes, you can easily store ice in coolers. This is done all the time by street vendors in places like Thailand.
      You'll just use a different type of ice than square... More like pellets is easier for this, and just pour the drink over the ice in the cup.
      No need for a sealing machine in this case, just a simple lid with a hole and straw, or even a sipper lid if no toppings.
      Hope that makes sense. 👍🏻

    Looking to extend our current menu to include boba. Can i use the pre made brown sugar syrups to put on the tapioca?
    Do I need to water it down when I steep the pearls etc, is it more cost effective to make the brown sugar from scratch? Thank you in advance.

    • @BubbleTeaKristin
      @BubbleTeaKristin  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can definitely use the pre-made brown sugar syrups and either water it down a bit... or use it full thickness.
      If you're going to put it into fruit teas, I would water it down a bit so that flavor doesn't overpower the fruit tea flavor.
      However if you're going to be doing it with milk teas, it can be quite trendy to have the brown sugar flavoring to create a single layer look on the bottom of the cup, or put it around the side of the inside of the cup as well which is also quite trendy.
      Cost effective wise, you'll need to compare to your local prices and currency 😇.

    Thank you for this great video! Question: About how many boba drinks does the 700g of boba make?
    My daughter and I love boba and we love to make it at home. We decided to serve it at a kids event coming up. It’s a very short event, like 1-2 hours, expecting to serve about 50-75 drinks and it’s a one time thing so I’m trying to figure out how much to make! I plan to cook it in a large pot on the stove and then rinse and keep it in the syrup in an instant pot.

    • @BubbleTeaKristin
      @BubbleTeaKristin  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Emily 👋🏼
      700 grams made 15-20 drinks in my shops. 👍🏼
      So... you'll probably want to make up the entire bag.. and if anything is left over at the end of the party, you could try laying it flat and freezing it, breaking it up into small chunks and putting it into a bag... quick nuke in the microwave with some water for a few seconds and you'll have 'old boba' but if you're not picky, it will do the trick in a pinch and you won't wast any. 😂
      Just want to make sure when you say 'keep it in the hot pot'... you mean on the lowest setting right? Like the warming setting...?
      Also, when you're cooking in a large pot on the stove, do 2-3 batches of the bag at a time... and only if you have one of those GIANT pots, like they do in Italian restaurant kitchens. Because if it's the size of your normal household pasta pot, then you'll need to do the 700 (maybe a little more) method, so it doesn't over flow! Cleaning up that is a nightmare!!! 😂😂
      After all is said and done, at the end when it's all done cooking, just give it a good rinse and put it in loads of the boba solution. You won't necessarily need to keep it on warm until the party, as you're cooking such a large batch... just inside something insulated so the heat doesn't escape.
      P.s. and make sure you're using the boba shop quality boba for my recipe... not the quick cook type! 😂

    Kristin this is a fantastic video! I do have a question on what you are referencing about Longan Honey at 16:38. You say: "Longan honey is great because it tastes just like honey but its vegan". From my understanding Longan honey is just one type of the 300+ variations of honey. Longan honey is a very common honey in Asia, but here in the U.S. it is kind of new and only made in a handful of states. Longan honey is darker in color and sweeter than regular honey, it also doesn't crystallize like regular honey does. Longan honey is the more popular honey for boba. But it is still produced by bees and not "bee-free". From what I have looked up, Longan honey is not vegan. I would just like to hear your perspective on this as I don't want to give my customers inaccurate information. I have not yet opened my boba shop, and I am going to be running a typical boba shop. But I like to be prepared for the 1 customer that this is going to be important to. Thanks so much and I LOVE your videos!!

    • @BubbleTeaKristin
      @BubbleTeaKristin  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello 👋🏼 Thanks for your comment.
      Some things have changed in the industry since this video was made, and/or at-least in the UK.
      Longan Honey was known as a bee-alternative. It was an industry standard name. However, there seems to now be actually honey added to it, in order to have the name 'honey' in the name. But not for every country. Believe it or not, similar products are being shipped around the world, with different labels, names, etc. So no two countries laws are the same. I'd go as far as to say that some big brands market their stuff as "vegan" but I've personally been to the factory and know they're not. So it's a sad situation indeed.
      I think to play it safe, for your customers specifically, best to create your own sugar reduction using a demerara sugar or similar, or simply use the brown sugar with some fructose. Unless you Specifically want to call it "Honey Boba".
      Hope this helps! Good luck to you with everything!

    • @BubbleTeaKristin
      @BubbleTeaKristin  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi - Good question.
      Best way to find out is to make a drink as you'd normally do, add the cooked tapioca pearls, and leave it on the counter for an hour... then try it out. This will give you an idea of how the customer will get the drink.
      If you can go a step further, actually put the drink(s) into your carry case and bike around an average length... then try the drink and see how it looks & tastes.
      The reason I say this is because each brand of Boba is different. Some last okay in a cold drink, but others go very hard.
      Good luck and thank you for the blessing.

    Hi! do you ever use brown sugar syrup instead of brown sugar?

      You can if you want.
      But decide if you want the thickness of it for the look, or to water it down a bit so the tapioca absorbs it better and it doesn't cost the cup... Your decision 😁

    Hey, I have a question about the cooking process. When you put the boba in first, as well as after the first 15 minutes, do you change the heat at all? l I'm cooking on a gas stove.

      Depends 😅 I'd say yes... Slightly.
      But you'll need to trial and error as flames vary once the boiling point is reached. 😊

    Where do you buy this restaurant quality boba from? Thinking about starting a business here in rural Pennsylvania 😄
    Thank you so much for your kindness 🙂

      Hi Yana 😇
      You're welcome 😁
      So if you just do a Google search for Boba Supplier or Bubble Tea, etc... You wanna find a US based company. One near you. Ask for samples from different companies before you commit to a large shipment. There's so many options in the US for good US based suppliers, it might take time to find one you like best!
      Good luck. Feel free to let us know how it goes in the future. 🥰
