I'm american and my dad is finnish and I've called him isi my whole life, I used to think his real name was isi until I was like 7 then I realized it's daddy in finnish
This needs to be a teaching style for more languages. It’s actually teaching useful words you can say to get a point across with the minimum vocabulary without knowing sentence structure, unlike Rosetta Stone
I am half Swedish and half Finnish, I love Finland, and when I was young I only learned Swedish and in school English, I have decided to learn Finnish, and I have too books from Eeva Haapalehto, and this channel, your videos are so helpful, I found them today and I love it, I learn it the way toddlers do and that is the right way to learn so thank you so much. :)
I spoke finnish almost fluently when i was around 10 years old, forgot it gradually over the years, the last 4 years i have gotten much from it back and can speak to the degree that everyone can understand me without a problem. Also decided to learn some other languages.
This is actually a great approach to language learning! Focus on getting your needs across first, and only later focus on the niceties like how to politely say goodbye etc.
I just came from the video reuniting with your mom. Omg you both have grown so much!! Baby Nanook is soooo cute! Big brother Kirikou is so sweet with his baby brother
oh man you are a genius (and whoever makes it with you), it is a remarkably refreshing channel, just found it, great info, amazingly filmed, directed and presented, thanks
What a wonderful video!!! You boys are such a joy to watch and listen to. I'm just starting to learn Finnish and a toddler's introduction to the language is just about my speed -- very helpful indeed! Kiitos, Kirikou ja Nanook!!!
Moi Kirikou. Tossi hyvä kanava!!! Minä olen Syntynyt Australiassa, osaan aika hyvin Suomea. Minä varmasti opetan minun pikku mukksulle ja tyttöystävälle Suomee!!! Myös kiitos!!!
I am taking my wife, five-year-old daughter, and mother to Finland next month! We have been working on our Finnish, and your videos are all very helpful! Kittos!
I swear your channel is so freaking adorable. Someone who is directing obviously has some TV experience. The boing noise is a bit too much IMO. You guys are just so cute.
Coming across a gem, a channel for learning Finnish with very cute finnish native teachers! Most words are foreign to my ears, but at least, we have almost similar way to say Lamp in my native language Indonesian which is Lampu (only one L), the same pronunciation, but less stress on the P. Another thing I learned from this video was not to say Hei Hei with finnish people to welcome them because it means exactly the opposite😄. Thank you and welldone, Boys and Sir! Salam kenal/greetings from Indonesia.
You should teach him to pick up all the pieces, by making it a game. Have him put it in a basket or box, but make it fun. He's adorable, and so are you!
Nanook looks just like my son, who is a quarter Finnish. Just curious how old Nanook is, and is he learning both English Finnish? Great video, keep them coming!
Hello! Nanook was 1,5 years on this video, but now he's almost 3 already. At home we speak only Finnish, but currently Nanook goes to an English language day care, so he should become bilingual.
Super interesting !! thank you very mluch for sharing your treasure with us! I am French and i learn finish! This is certainly the best method i've seen !! :-D
Hyvä alku! (Good start!) Jatka niin! (Keep going like that!) Samaa mieltä! (I'm of the same opinion!) Lykkyä tykö! (Good luck!) Use google translate com and you can listen to the sound of Finnish. 🙂 One language at the time.
