  • In this video I have a look at a customers 2011 F-250 that was diagnosed at another shop for having a bad fuse box. Customer wanted me to take a look and be sure before changing any parts and see what it really needed. I was sick back in February when I made this video. Hopefully it doesn't seem to scatter brained to you.

i've got to ask about these “non-serviceable” relays. did ford make them an integral part of the box? if so, its more poor design from them.

There is only one shop in my three county area which specializes in automotive wiring and electrical, the parking lot is always full of Ford F Series trucks and E series vans. I had to have them diagnose and repair my last F150. They do so many, that they make their own splice-in harnesses. Most other shops won't touch Ford electrical issues, which is very inconvenient. So having now watched the latest video repair for this vehicle from you Eric we get to learn that a broken wire under the fuse box on the control side of the module was the ultimate culprit. You isolated the control side of the module first but I believe the broken wire to the module still had a partial connection and it’s likely thermal conductivity caused it to loose power resulting in intermittent stall conditions. You always say these are your boring videos.
I disagree: these are the videos that not only prove how complex modern vehicles are but also how valuable a great mechanic like yourself is. Some of the equipment you use is relatively expensive. As a diy guy, I know my way around a vehicle but electrical issues are always tricky.
    Awesome video! Stay blessed, man.

Good step by step to evaluate, verify, repair and verify repair. I had customers that were very knowledgeable that would always ask why and how, wanted detailed repair reports.

So, my 2011 F350 had a crusty wire inside the fuse box. I disassembled the box to find that wire. Fixed it. Love your vids. Thank you.
