  • The most important part of the whole USMLE Process is the Interview Period of NRMP MATCH which makes or breaks the deal for a Residency Program to select you as a Resident Doctor. What was surprising to me during my USMLE journey was that every one talks about just USMLE Step 1 and USMLE Step 2 CK Preparation( which interestingly are not what matter in the end); But no one focuses on the quintessential - Interviewing. Welcome to Part 1 of The Interview Masterclass for THE NRMP Match 2023.
    🙋🏻‍♂️ Who am I?
    My name is Manik Madaan, and I am a PGY-1 Resident Doctor in the USA 🇺🇸. I truly feel honored to teach and learn from medical students, residents and doctors all across the globe 🌍. This channel is dedicated to humans all across the world. I appreciate you stopping by & really really hope I've won your subscription, regards, and love 💖.

      study 1st and 2nd year whole heartedly, not taking shortcuts, actually enjoying and understanding the subjects. You can use Usmle materials from 2nd yr but remember they are review material and will not replace your primary resources at med school. Give step 1 in third year.

    • @khalidqidwai1867
      @khalidqidwai1867 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@amishachaudhary7652 Nopes. What you target right now is to build basics and also do well in your university exams. You can use usmle materials side by side and do flashcards. You will get enough time in your third year to prepare for step 1. Infact, third yr has the least syllabus of whole mbbs and the subjects it entails are low yield in steps. You would rather want to focus on 1st yr subjects, Pathology, pharmacology and medicine. These form the core of steps. If you still have doubts, you can dm me.

    Hello Dr. Manik, I recently found out that Surgery is really, really tough to get as a profession for an Indian Medical Graduate. Does that include Orthopedic Surgery, as I have my interests in being an Orthopedic Surgeon? And yes, do I have to completely drop the plans of becoming an Orthopedic Surgeon, and focus on something else, or should I just stay in India and practice over here (personally I wanted to go to USA, as many of my family members are there) as an Orthopedic Surgeon? It broke my heart when I first found out about it…

      One of the most wanted speciality for US grads, one of the four with the highest income potential; very very difficult. One of the programs that I know has 10 PG1 spots, they gets about 1000 applicantion requests , interview 75 and selects 10. all positions are matched. and had NO FMGs in the last 20 years.
      If you are not in the top 10% of your class with few publications, they won't even send you an application form.

    Hey Manik i am done with my mbbs and i am an FMGE, got my license this 2022 and my internship is all done, i am confused between PLAB and USMLE, is opting for USMLE after graduation a late choice?I also passed my IELTS With a score of 7.5 in my first attempt, so i do have which i consider good communication skills and good command over english, i did consider PLAB as my first choice, but booking the exam is a headache as there is too much saturation now, and there are no more seats avail for 2022 and 2023, Am i too late to consider the Usmle journey? Or there isnt any “correct” time to pursue this path. Would love to see a vlog based on you PGY1 work life balance, as that is the breaking point for me. Thanks a lot
