Are there any chances that people go unmatched even in pre- match offer , in case if unmatched can we participate in regular match?

I am in a dilemma about my situation; I got a phone call interview with a resident from one pre-match program on Nov 3rd; I could inform the resident why I am interested in their program by having my connections to the location of the program and completing my USCE in the exact location during my 3rd and 4th years of medical school and being very much familiar with the patient population from my previous clinical experience. At the end of the interview, the resident informed me to watch out for a virtual interview from Eras Scheduler soon, But I haven't heard anything from the program yet; I am thinking of contacting the program by email or phone to confirm whether I am selected to the virtual interview or not. May you give me a suggestion on how to proceed.

Does it really matter if PD ask during IV that do you have any other IV or not ????
