I do like it, but it no longer feels like the first three. These vampire have always been a crying lot, but now they cry even more and everyone loves one another… I can’t wait to watch your review of the next one. It is a doosy!😂😂
I hated the plot (basically it was a qotd 2.0) but the new characters are cool imo and it was amazing to see gabrielle again. also i don't like that the brat prince becomes the king of vampires 😔 if you like the ship lestat/louis you'll appreciate atlantis, their scenes are so cute (the only good thing in that book lmao)
I think it was actually one of many of his aliases. He had like a bunch Lestan Gregore was one...at first when I was reading the book I actually thought it was a type in the print. I don't think Rose knew his name was lestat at all until she found out the whole vampire stuff it mentions in the book she thought the vampire chronicles were some sort of fan fiction based on lestat or lestat living the part of the vampire mentioned in the books. Well that's what I gathered anyway. But yeah. I think I also heard the lestat typo mistake being printed early on.❤
The last Vampire Chronicles books always have me wondering what on earth was Anne Rice on... and where can I get it 😂 I seriously love your recaps so much, you're so much fun (and your casting is always on point)
I was so distraught with the death of Maharet, my partner ran into the room to see if i was ok. It was just a shitty ending for her and i think she should have been given a better death.
Anne had a crisis of faith between vampire books and returned to Christianity, declaring that she would only write for the Lord. She then failed to complete a trilogy about young Jesus, wrote two terrible books about a hitman who works for angels, wrote two equally awful werewolf books, then realized the same thing she realized decades earlier about the Catholic church, and then decided vampires were cool again.
I pretty much read it within the space of 3 days because I couldn't get enough of the fact not only was this a new entry in the series and well because I'm a huge Vampire Chronicles fan, there's definitely some welcome characters, Fareed and Seth, Gregory, that come back in this one like the musician Antoine from a brief appearance in the very first book, Magnus as a ghost with his human gifts and Allasandra who supposedly was dead and of course Teskhamen which was probably a life changer for Marius, thoroughly enjoyed it hands down with Lestat becoming the Prince of the the Vampires
*39:39** you can stick your finger thru a brain, like room temperature butter. like jelly:* you could suck it out like thru a straw. not and keep the connections, but vampire healing can do that if the whole brain lives in the stomach till the soul is absorbed? idk. _JC
**it is kind of good hey? strange, loving anti climactic, but still good.* wait till you read atlantis, wow. being in medicine, i have trouble when people bring in medical things, but they are a bit off. even if the writer is clearly really trying. _(ive also never read the werewolf ones. have no idea what they are like)_ but i still liked prince Lestat. _JC
As a fan, I loved the book ❤. Accion, romance, "cientific" possibilities, glamour and super old rich excentric vampires. But it's not so good as the first ones. But I don't care. Thanks so much for your video!!!
whatever happened to Quinn the boy on that farm that was made by a rude vampire that had both a P and V. then Quinn went looking fur lestat to learn and also made her that girl that was tied to rowen or whatever her name was the one that birthed a taltos
Quinn and Mona. You don’t really find out more about them until the next book Realms of Atlantis. But you can probably guess what happened to them considering they never showed up in New York…
I absolutely LOVE your channel- Listening to you recap my fav books has been like hangin out and listening to an old friend.. And the wine is perfect haha!! Would you consider doing her Songs of the Seraphim series (angel time) or erotic sleeping beauty series? subscribed!!
Okayy so i watched the show and came across this book in a book fair so brought it, so I just wanted to know if i should read it(i haven't read the previous books)
You should really read the other books first. Because there are so many characters in this book whose stories are told in previous books. It might be confusing to know who is who if you don't read them first.
I'm so happy you decided to torture yourself with this book. Thank you for suffering with us other readers and venting our experiences. XD I'm not sure I'll ever get over how they chose Lestat, of all people, to be the leader. Just which book did they read to think he made good decisions? Lol. The ret-conning and out-of-character writing continue in the next two books. I'm looking forward to your review as things get even weirder, plot points are dropped, and characters are just written off.
Re "Lestan". Anne Rice's husband was named Stan. And her daughter was close to 5 when dying. This book may have been born of a resurgence of bad memories.
This makes me think of the AMC interview about the vampire relationship with Louis and Armand. Are Louis and Armand together in the TV show because they’re using what’s going on and all of the vampire Chronicles? Is this way Louis is back with gross manipulative the worst Armand in the show?
@@rachreid8746 You were worried about Louis being back with Armand? I think we all worry but it seems Anne's Vampires have a tremendous capacity to forgive. Or least be around each other despite past transgressions. But I guess if you're all living forever and will encounter each other or need each other, you have no option.
The show is about book 1. Also, the show is its own thing and is not connected to whats going on in the present on later books (i mean Louis and Armand relationship in the show is different to where they're at in this book). It's not the same story and timelime at all, so i recommend watching the tv show and reading the books as two separate things.
I wish I never read the last books. They are all pretty much absurd drivel. It's like she completely forgot how to write. Really, the first 3 are the best and a few more are still worth a read but when she started trying her hand at sci fi it is beyond cringe. Seriously laughable.
When Maharet died, I almost shat the tub. Thank you for another wonderful Vampire Chronicles review!!

Actually the name Lestat was a typing error, Anne intended to name the character after her husband, so he was originally to be called "Lestan".
Interesting

It can't be unless she decided to keep it that way.

I was really in a vampire mood, and this video was just what I needed. 🖤 "Come in the lab and see what's on the slab" 😆

And wrote terrible new vampire books
@lucianacarvalho3136 I liked Prince Lestat, honestly. Good thing the series ended there, eh?
@@NemoEtNihil there's another one after that. I don't know of there's even more
@@lucianacarvalho3136
*Ahem*
AS I SAID...
There were NO MORE BOOKS after Prince Lestat.
We met Dr Farid Ben Sahli in season 1, Louis' physician he called in for Daniel 😊. Wow they really are pulling from all the books. 😅
Yep! It was a deep cut Easter egg
i can’t wait for you to read Blood Communion!! ❤️❤️❤️
It’s coming in October!
I love the casting pictures

You're hilarious! I recently reread all the Vampire Chronicles and I agree with pretty much you're saying!
haha! Thank you for watching!
17:00 do you think they are podcasts, but lestat is just old? _JC
love your take on lestat.
Great job. I read the book a while ago, you helped me recall everything before I read Atlantis.

My Favorite Book In The Vampire Chronicles! Queen Of The Damned Is 2nd Favorite!😱🧛🤪🥰📚
Honestly we need more pyromaniac gays like Louis in media.
Victor takes after stepdad Louis! I'm so proud 🥹
Hahaha! You have a point there.
I like Lestat but I love Pandora. Didn't Pandora change Rose?
I do love a happy ending…but I soooo wanted Lestat and Louis to end up together!
they do 😊 in the last book !!
@@seonghwangel The Vampire Prince and his Eternal Consort 💗💕😋
they are basically married in the last two books
i loved the book. i loved the transition of power.
Thank you for this. I didn't know this book existed until now.
Totally was waiting for the other shoe to drop or something bad to happen in an epilogue.
Dr. Flannery: "FOR SCIENCE!!!" 😂

Exactly… Lestat has a history of being a wild card at best.
Exactly how I feel😊
Considering his behaviour in the body thief I wouldn't trust him with the core or to lead anything.
Im so glad you did these videos i didn't enjoy this book much it wasn't as great as books 3 and 4 to me
Thx, now the last 2
"You had me at semen" is something I'm gonna put in my phrase pocket.
good casting btw. _JC
Victor was totally HOTTT
Your casting is sometimes hilariously spot on 😂
the last book, do the last book with the clone people.

Well Lestat was known as The Wolf Killer after all🤣 What do you expect?
This book was just terrible to me. Hard to fellow.
it is a hapy ended. it quite good. _JC
Well crap I have to re-read Prince Lestat.😊
This makes me think of the AMC interview about the vampire relationship with Louis and Armand. Are Louis and Armand together in the TV show because they’re using what’s going on and all of the vampire Chronicles? Is this way Louis is back with gross manipulative the worst Armand in the show?
Well I didn’t mention it in the video but at the end of the book Louis and Lestat are back together again.
