To anyone wondering: you can get the night armour that the person wielding the sword of night was wearing inside “Bonny Gaol” , which is across the bridge south from Bonny village
Adding to this:
Once you ride down a jar down to a bridge before the boss, you have to ride that same jar back up, it will take you to a platform that is higher than the one you came back from, the sword will be waiting in front of you as you alight

I have no idea how anyone figured this out. I’d been stuck trying to get to the second ruins and had almost given up.
These guys are definitely looking into the source code of the game to find stuff, nobody just stumbles onto this
@@russellmuscle7434 i stumbled my way through pretty much every sidequest in the dlc including this one. it's honestly deranged how much exploring there is to do. some of the messages from other players in-game definitely helped some though. thank you miyazaki.

Thank you for giving actual directions. The top recommended video starts the shadow keep section with “ok so you come from the east and go through the church district, then when you get to the specimen storehouse you go to the top and drop down to the middle. Then run here (2 seconds after a camera cut) and take the lift and go to this site of grace (didn’t name a single grace)” I had never even been to the church district so a video like yours is so refreshing after something that unhelpful is the top video.

Thanks for the guide, the Mother of Fingers fight was a bitch, took forever to figure out its moves but was worth it to get the katana.

That jump at 9:45 is harder than he makes it look😂😂😂 have died 15 times in a row trying to make that jump
your the first person ive seen in a comment section put a timestamp before what you want them to see instead of having to rewind a few seconds... thank you for not being an NPC
You should also include Rellana's cameo Talisman as it increases attack power after maintaining same stace which this AOW does
I don't think this is a stance. Pretty sure it only counts as a charged attack. Stances can be maintained as long as you want

WARNING !!! As soon as you go past the "Bridge Leading To The Village" Grace. It is going to trigger the Great Rune breaking. Which could ruin some side quests if you are interested.
Save this sword for later if you dont wanna mess up a ton of side quests. If you dont care, then go for it.

You can do it! Don't forget that you can summon other players to help with bosses that you are stuck on, and don't feel bad to use the bird farm to or other rune farming strategies to get some levels with ease 👍
The dlc gets easier over time. You just need to get max blessings

I did both finger sounds and the guy wasnt holding anybody when i teleported i reset the area alot. Any help?
For those who did all the steps and he didn't disappear, just choose every dialogue option below the purchase menu then reload the area. (If that doesn't work, purchase every spell he sells, idk which one did it for me)

I didn’t think this would progress my world this much without killing any bosses. Now all the other NPCs have been affected while I was just trying to set up to make sure I didn’t miss the sword.

Figured it out finally.. after completing platinum in the original game I just understand that holding circle + jump makes a further jump 😂
If you fancy a shield to match the sword and you like the armor Yolan wears, you can find them in Bonny Jaol. If you followed this guide, you should've unlocked the teleport to Bonny Village, then cross the bridge to the south and hug the righthand side until you reach the entrance to the dungeon. Scour the dungeon and you will get the armor, and not far from that is the shield. Enjoy!
Homeboy didnt have the pet with him the time b4 he dissappears, but it still appears everything is fine..i havent actually killed that finger monster yet but his throne opened up and everything seems fine for when im strong enough to take this boss on.
So close. If I can get past that boss fight I'm home free. Got it down to half health then that huge back sphere takes me out

So all I did was defeat the invader that gives you the claws then the boss but now the Npc that’s has the weapon is not there so is there something I’m missing
U have to go back and interact with the throne again and there should be ANOTHER invader fight that pops into the church/chapel area, then after u kill that invader go back to the throne and u should see ymir there all pissed off and ready to fight u, after u defeat him, THEN the npc with the weapon should be there laying next to one of the pillars.

That finger boss was probably the easiest boss I’ve encountered in the DLC so far…
Since we have to time to prepare, I loaded up on damage negating talismans and bullgoat armor, Mohg’s spear, and Shabriri’s woe. Then used mimic tear so it would be a very tanky target constantly drawing aggro. Then I swapped back to my normal gear and took off the woe talisman.
While my mimic was getting the tar beat out of it, I was using the repeating crossbow and just riddled her with burred bolts and bloodbone bolts. Every once in awhile she’d hurl an attack at me but it didn’t kill me so I was able to get back up and heal. She mostly paid attention to the mimic though. Killed her with bleed damage and neither me nor my mimic had any blessings whatsoever.
Honestly this boss feels way more like the base game bosses, big slow and easy to dodge. Meanwhile every other DLC boss has super high combos near impossible to dodge or get close enough to hit back…
I was really hoping I could rush to get this but in reality it's a rush to fight that boss, which makes me just wanna take my time to eventually get to that sword now.

If you give her the grace you get her as a summon and if you go to that festive village and drop down to the tower theres a puppet you can pair with the summon, sadly missed the sword.

You can only get 2 of the same iris per playthrough. Choose your quest order carefully.
I did everything but when I refreshed she just keeps saying the same dialogue. What do I do?

Uh does doing this quest lock you out of any other questlines? Such as skipping shadowkeep etc?
Theres a bug/glitch in the questline.
If you sound the first horn in the south. Then get the iris of occulation at the fort of reprimand.
Fast travel to the cathedral, ymir wont be there and you can move his chair and do the boss fight.
Im not sure if this will break the game. I didnt sound the second bell. I didnt go through with the invader or boss fight and fast traveled to get prepared. When i got back ymir was there again.

Thanks for the guide, tho.. When I reached the 2nd bell, I couldn't ring it. Upon so I had to travel to the side of grace at the cathedral, where the dude was back at his sit. And the sauron looking dude back there. How can I return to the boss area??

I did it with 17 and it was a breeze. So I’d guess somewhere around 12-15 would make it a balanced fight

As someone who loves katana it’s amazing however there a bug with it as it’s supposed to scale with magic as well but doesn’t the devs have said that they are working on it then it will be the true broken beast it should be

So I’m going to mention that in the shadow keep it’s the “2ND FLOOR” grace, he didn’t specify and thought I already had it when it was the “1st” floor that I had.
If it was an easy grace to get, I would have mentioned that, I showed running to it for a reason lol
The npc in the chair doesn't disappear for me. I did everything on point, but she's still there
Talk to Black Night in same area then exhaust ALL dialogue on chair npc. Then travel to sight of grace.

Take a right and go through the canyon while going left. Along the way. And you'll fight an easy boss to obtain the star lined katana. A very interesting find. Which is pretty cool.
