Thanks for this video. This was very helpful with the 85 Rebel I just got. Nothing concerning the headlight was correct on it. I just finished installing the same headlight and all is well, thanks to this video 😎
I bought the same housing and the same light just orange and wired it right up !! The bracket is a little tricky but like u said with a little bending it went on. I’m no mechanic and did this all thanks to your video !! Thanks a lot man. This light is impressive!!
You should be able to just swap a regular bulb so issue. If the high beam isn’t working it’s possible the high side is burned out or there’s an electrical issue with you switch on the high beam
The suggested chrome bucket looks like it's more dull then the pre-existing bucket on my 85 250 rebel. Is there a bucket that will match the Chrome I currently have?
@@aaronmarshall4904 another possible fix other than replacing the relay could be adding resistors in the line for the turn signals. My truck had halogen bulbs. I upgraded to LED but caused hyper flashing. You just add a resistor to the line and it stops that
I’m not entirely sure if you would or not. The LED is way less consuming than the stock halogen bulb so it’s less draw on the system but I haven’t had any issues since upgrading the light
I wanted to do more at night but it started raining and it’s gonna be raining for the rest of the week so I just got what I could. Definitely a lot brighter though. Feel safer about it at night
Have you tried swapping wires yet? At first I had my wires wrong and when it was on regularly it’s was on high beam and when I switch to high beam it turned it off. It’s possible your wires are swapped like I did for mine. Try that and if it doesn’t work then you might want to try and return the headlight for a new one. Possible it’s defective
Mine didn’t come with an adapter. I just read you had to do some soldering to make it work. Can you tell me what you soldered together? I have a 87’ rebel 250. I’m going to repurchase one with an adapter.
@@treyblk1417 the adapter that mine came with I ended up cutting off. Basically just soldered up the wires that would have connected with the adapter. Since the bike didn’t have a plug I tested by connecting the wires together first to try it and then once I confirmed it worked I soldered them together.
@@treyblk1417 you can see what I mean around 6:15. I mocked up the wires to test first. That’s where I cut off the adapter and soldered those 3 wires together

Great video, I bought a similar set up last fall. Can't wait to put it in.
Black to green. Bold move. Glad it worked out for you and didn’t blow a fuse haha
Lol you could tell by the video my color blindness was messing with me bad.
@@T3CHNOskillz great video though! I have the light and bucket in my Amazon cart currently. Thanks!
@@1029zsz you’re welcome. I’m glad it could help. Hopefully it’ll “brighten” your night when you ride haha
I need the box that the plug go in to do the wiring from the led to the bike thanks
Is there a way to change the actual bulb in the headlight? Or if you no why a high beam wouldn’t be working?

That i honestly couldn’t tell you. You’re at the mercy of aftermarket parts now for your bike. Best places to check are Amazon and eBay
I did this and my blinkers won't work now, makes the relay go crazy when I try the blinkers
Do you have led turn signals or halogen bulbs? I know with my 2018 shadow when I upgraded to LED the relay didn’t like it
Yeah that's my thinking this light and led blinkers are too much draw

Wouldn't it fit in the original bucket? I am planning on changing mine as well but was hoping to keep the original bucket
It might fit but you’ll need to get a adapter of some sort so you could mount the headlight into the bucket.
I noticed the light on your meter is brighter than mine.
Your video helped me just do mine. Thank you
My issue is now they all come on and stay on no flash just all solid
Did you need to change the regulator or anything? I don’t know the power consumption but wouldn’t it hurt something?
I’m not entirely sure if you would or not. The LED is way less consuming than the stock halogen bulb so it’s less draw on the system but I haven’t had any issues since upgrading the light
@@T3CHNOskillz It draws less current and should not affect your regulator or any other electrics
Led should be less
Wow!! Huge difference!!

Great video. Thank you. 👍🏼
Where did you get your seat
As far as I know this is the stock seat for the rebel. It was on there when I bought it Atleast
What Light and Bucket did you get?
Both links are in the description
It's legal? 🤔
Yes. Completely legal. Even comes with DOT SAE stamp on the glass
