    Keep in mind guys that this is my first time ever hearing this song. There’s no way I would’ve known the ‘music video’ is a fan made video. If I’d have known, I wouldn’t have reacted to the video 🙂

    My youngest son got a hat autographed by Ozzy Osbourne when my son had cancer the first time. A wonderful organization called Caps for Kids got it for him because Ozzy was the first one my son said when asked who he wanted to sign his hat. He was barely 10 years old. I felt so proud that Ozzy was his number one.

    Tony lost the tips of his left hand's first 3 fingers on his last day as a factory worker, made caps to put on them when they healed and invented this guitar style.
    The phrase goes, "It doesn't get much more metal than that!"

    • @terryberkshire7728
      @terryberkshire7728 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It was Tony’s right hand… Tony is a left handed player, meaning her frets with his right hand. He fabricated prosthetic wax tips, used nylon strings that were down tuned allowing him to more easily bend the strings. That’s how he has that unique sound that is so often imitated but NEVER duplicated.

    • @terryberkshire7728

      @@terryberkshire7728Sorry, but he did not use nylon strings. If he did you would not hear anything. An electric guitar has pickups on it that detect the vibration of the strings by the fact that they’re steel strings, and induce an electric current in the pickups’ wire coils by disturbing the magnetic field of the pickups’ magnets. Nylon is not magnetic. You could put nylon strings on an electric guitar and play it, but no sound would come out of the amplifier. You need steel strings in order for an electric guitar to work.

    Vocals - Ozzy Osbourne
    Guitars - Tony Iommi
    Bass - Geezer Butler
    Drums - Bill Ward
    Black Sabbath is the fisrt heavy metal band. This gender born with this guys. They had some different vocalists and musicians after the 70's, the line-up in this song is the original.
    You could react to the songs N.I.B (reading the lyrics), Black Sabbath (the song called Black Sabbath), Iron Man, Paranoid, The Wizard, Hand Of Doom, the entire albuns from the fisrt to the Sabotage album, Dirty Women and Never Say Die from the Tecnical Ecstasy and Never Say Die albuns, all the 80's albuns, that had vocalists like Ronnie James Dio (from the bands Elf, Rainbow and his awesome solo carreer), Ian Gillan (Deep Purple), Glenn Hughes (Trapeeze, Deep Purple) and the underrated Tony Martin. Also the 90's albuns are great, and the last albuns The Devil You Know ( the band change their name to Heaven And Hell to this one) and 13 are masterpieces. If you read this, start to enjoy the first and greatest heavy metal band and change your life forever

      Came from their links to working in foundry (Heavy Metal) . Tony Iommi guitar sound from his tuning and fact he lost finger-tips in a work accident and made some plastic tips to replace them 😵‍💫. Truly astonishing sound for 1970 that is as fresh today and definetly paved the way for future rock/metal bands to come after.

  • @MotorbreathChannel
    @MotorbreathChannel ปีที่แล้ว +14

    Yep. Sabbath. This is where Metal started. With the four guys that were inspired by the industrial sounds of the city (I think that they have mentioned it in interviews). Heavy Metal - you know? Tony Iommi is the inventor of guitar riffs. Around 1965 when he was 17, Iommi lost the tips of the middle and ring fingers of his right hand (his fret-board hand, since he is left-handed) in an industrial accident on his last day of work in a sheet metal factory. He "was told 'you'll never play again'. He ultimately decided to continue playing left-handed. To do so, he fitted homemade thimbles to his injured fingers to extend and protect them; the thimbles were made from an old Fairy Liquid bottle - "melted it down, got a hot soldering iron and shaped it like a finger" - and cut sections from a leather jacket to cover his new homemade prosthetic. Metallica played a cover of two Black Sabbath songs combining them into one ("Sabbra Cadabra" released on their cover double album "Garage, inc." which also cointains parts from "A National Acrobat") and toured with Ozzy when he went on his solo career and moved to the USA. What the band was and is still playing would be considered traditional Doom Metal by now. With alot of psychedelic prog and Jazz influences. People have already recommended live in Paris 1970 and Ozzy Osbourne - Mr. Crowley 1981 live video. Another crucial band that have inspired the metal of the 80s would be Motorhead. I highly recommend their "Motörhead - Just 'Cos You Got The Power (Stage Fright) HQ". Motorhead were the band that has united punks and metalheads and inspired the whole Thrash Metal genre that Metallica were the pioneers of.

    Black Sabbath Vol 4 is my favorite album of all times. MetallicA- Ride The Lightning is 2nd. Tony Iommi the riff master is on guitar. About 60 years ago at the age of 17 he accidentally cut the tips of his fingers off doing machine work. For decades now, Tony has worn fingertips taken from fully prosthetic arms on the stumps of the last joint of the middle and ring fingers of his right hand.

    Toni Iomi is the guitarist.
    As Sabbath was about to become famous each had a Civilian Job. Toni lost one of his fingers in an accident at work on his fretting hand.
    He had to learn the guitar all over again this is why the way he plays sounds the way it does.
    This became the SOUND of Black Sabbath from then on.

    Ok kiddo-I am a 53 yr old woman who started listening to the Oz man at 12, back then u had to know his lyrics to b able to fit in with the older kids-PLEASE listen to some of his songs-u won’t regret the time spent doing so. This old lady can honestly say he has a hell of a voice!! Ozzy, JP and sooo many more-the ‘70s and ‘80s were the best!!

    Tony Iommi is playing the guitar. What you might not know is that he chopped the ends of his fingers off in a factory so he has little plastic/rubber tips which he puts on to play.

    Black Sabbath returns home to Birmingham concert about 10 years ago, or so was the best sound quality of the songs you'll get. Plus ozzy, still the prince of rock and roll darkness! That means he still has it, haha

    No, its not the original video. Your suspicion was right. There's no original music video for this song, but the live from 1970 is excellent, except the lyrics is different. They were still working on them when the concert took place.

    Great reaction again!!! I am watching you from Canada. I love watching your reactions so much for the simple reason being that you are super honest with your comments and thoughts. If you don't understand something, or if you have questions, you are NOT afraid to ask or admit to just not knowing. That is a quality that more people doing reactions need to have! So you are one of my favourites right now. Keep doing them just how you are. You will get more and more people subscribing to you channel in no time. Now I am requesting that you react to "Children of the Grave". It is one of my favourite Black Sabbath songs ever. It has one of the most difficult, continuous drum lines I have heard. This is only my little old opinion, of course but it is absolutely a song you need to react to. I know that you have said that Guitar riffs are your "thing", but after your reaction to The Eagles, Hotel California and how blown away you were that the drummer could sing and play so great!!!! So please please have a listen to "Children of the Graves" Thank you, thank you, thank you, in advance. I PROMISE you will not be disappointed . Keep doing your reactions. You are doing such a great job at it.🤘🤘😎😎🖤🖤🤍🤍😎😎🤘🤘

    toni iommi was the guitarist and he had two wooden fingers on his hand because he accidentally cut them off in a factory accident at work. he made new fingers out of wood and started playing guitar again with a lower tuning so he could play it. that is how come his guitar playing seems so different. I admire his determination to keep going.

    Ahhh yes when your ears finally get ahold of legendary music like Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd you are rarely the same. You have so much more to discover and grow with. Sweet Leaf is fun one, The Wizard and Jeesh just all of them. Don't sleep on the Dio years with songs like Children of the sea or the reunion years like 2012 when they released new material like God is dead and The end of the beginning which are both awesome.
