    Fun fact: All Swedish emergency vehicles follow a national numbering system, which means you can see what type of vehicle it is and where it is stationed just by looking at the vehicle number. The number consists seven digits; in which the first digit tells which department the vehicle belongs to (1 = Police, 2 = Fire/Rescue, 3 = Emergency healthcare, 4 = other);
    The second digit tells which part of Sweden the vehicle belongs to (1 = Northern Sweden, 2 = Mid Sweden, 3 = Stockholm Region, 4 = Southeast Sweden, 5 = Western Sweden, 6 = Southern Sweden, 7 = Not assigned a specific location);
    The third digit tells you where specifically in the previously mentioned region the vehicle is stationed at, for example 51 means Gothenburg area, western Sweden; 14 means Jämtland county, northern Sweden; 31 means Stockholm City, Stockholm region; 43 means Jönköping county, southeast Sweden; etc.
    The four remaining digits are used differently depending on the department. For instance in the police department a vehicle with 7 as the fourth digit indicates that it's a traffic unit, and in fire rescue departments a vehicle with the last two digits being 10 indicates that it's a main fire/rescue engine, etc.
    Some practical examples of the numbering system (note that sometimes the first digit is not shown):
    1 43-9140 (as seen at 1:37) = Police patrol car belonging to Jönköping city, Jönköping county, southeast Sweden;
    (2) 52-1010 (as seen at 6:16) = Main fire/rescue engine belonging to Södra Älvsborg fire rescue service, Borås, western Sweden;
    (1) 51-1250 (as seen at 8:31) = Police patrol car belonging to Gothenburg city, western Sweden;
    3 21-9020 (as seen at 10:29) = Emergency ambulance belonging to Uppsala, mid Sweden;
    2 31-1930 (as seen at 13:29) = Ladder truck belonging to Vällingby fire station, Greater Stockholm fire brigade;
    3 22-9910 (as seen at 16:54) = Emergency doctor unit belonging to Värmland county, mid Sweden;
    2 62-1060 (as seen at 17:22) = Fire/rescue quick response unit belonging to Trelleborg, southern Sweden

    The number to SOS in 90% of all European countries is 112. Some can have additional numbers for police, ambulance, firefighters or non-emergencies for example. But in need of help somewhere in Europe 112 is the number to call. The number is chosen because it is easy to dial but hard enough to not dial by mistake.
    2:41 Standard firetruck that is used most frequently
    6:19 For chemical accidents
    6:58 To get a ladder into tight places like narrow alleys
    7:23 and 16:53 An emergency car for a doctor. Can for example be used in a bigger accident and they can help prioritize injuries or just go as support for the ambulance in advanced cases.
    9:59 Ladder fire truck, always sent to fires in buildings
    11:48 Fire truck with tools for car accident
    14:33 Divers and chemical accidents
    17:06 Evidence police vehicle (after a murder or break-in)
    17:36 Chemical and extra resources
    17:48 The sign on the roof says "accident" and is made so people can see it from a farther distance

    A Danish Akutlæge is the same as Swedish Akutlæga. As you said, "they must transport something". That's right, they transport a Doctor, an emergency Doctor. Typically used in big car crash or in otherwise serious cases.
    You noticed a Danish “firetruck” with an odd name. From the logo, I believe it was the Pioneer emergency in Copenhagen. Special firefighters to extreme dangerous stuff. I can't remember if they do diving jobs too. The Special Forces of Rescue.

    In Norway, we have three emergency numbers for the different services. 110 for fire, 112 for police and 113 for ambulance. Though if you dial wrong, they will transfer you. 112 is an international emergency number in most of Europe I think.

    The ambulance cars are first responders. They are there first to help with cpr, heartstops etc. They don't transport the person who needs help, but they are first on scene. Both ambulance and fire rescue have first responders.

    3:28 i think the problem was more that the person on the electric scooter wasn't paying attention and/or had their ears full of music. Not too mention that you aren't allowed to ride bicycles or scooters through zebra crossings, so they were breaking the law.
    There's an excellent video on why European sirens are better than the American ones. You should watch it.

    9:30 In Norway, the police (Politi) is 112, ambulance (ambulanse) 113, and fire (brann) 110. But if you call any of them, they will put you over to the one you actually need. There’s also an extra number for people who can’t hear well, but I don’t know what that number is

    The smaller cars with “akut læge” is an emergency doctor following the ambulance. Usually if it a crash or similar.
    Same with the firetrucks they have the chief in the regular car. Also the police vans usually are filled with cops, most used if they are going fx a protest, major event, football stuff, concerts stuff etc.

    The small "ambulances" are doctors. We have normal ambulance with 2 or 3 nurse/doctors and then we have smaller faster cars that just doctors (maybe with nurse) use. We in Norway also have different numbers for police 112, fire 110 or ambulance 113, but if you call wrong nuber they just transfer the call to the right one

    In Finland the car driving before fire truck was probably "leading car" with something to do with the fire chief (fire marshall in American), sort of the ride of management. I bet they are also guiding and warning the truck about traffic and making attention and space for it.
    And Finnish police cars, whose lights are hidden (if not on) are vehicles of so called civil police ("siviilipoliisi" in Finnish). These cops do not carry uniforms and their cars seem civilian. But I think most of the Finnish people recognize them anyway.... ;) That black BMW was probably corresponding Norwegian version. (Their cars are more convincing though...)

    The full white Finnish police van was most likely a civilian-, criminal detective or similart units. Most Finnish police cars are white and blue colored and recetly they have started adding that "highvisibility" yellow color onto them as well. Theres also black ones and for those (I think, not sure tho) are more heavily armed police units.
    And the different colouring on the ambulances and fire rescuers means that they are different units (example some are specialized for heartstops etc.) but the colouring is different depending on what county you're in. But most of the cases the yellow+red colored ones are first responders.
    Fun fact:
    I've also heard from a local nurse, that (at least back in the day) the ambulances had different emergency sounds for the nurses on the hospitals to know what case they bringing in.
    I feel like on this digital age that has changed.

    • @Kuutti_original
      @Kuutti_original 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Black ones is usually local "VaTi" (Vaativien Tilanteiden ryhmä, sort of like SWAT) or team Karhu (Police Special Operations Group).
      On white vans its not necessarily always true, ive seen white vans as movable speed traps. But also as a Forensics unit. There is also grey or dark colored "Violence crime unit"

    So in the Finnish ambulances the letters tell which area the ambulance is from. Numbers tell the placement within the bigger area, what kind of ambulance it is and the last 1-2 numbers is just the identifying code. Like PP 121, 122 are PP= Northern Ostrobothnia area 1, advanced treatment level (2), car numbers 1 & 2.
    Also in Finland we have other kinds of police cars than shown here, in summer in some cities there are bicycles as well as motorbikes. Police and fire department have similat kind of identifying system as the ambulances.

    One interesting part is that in Sweden we have different priority for different first responders.
    1. Firetruck - highest priority, in an intersection if several first responders are coming they all have to give priority to firetruck
    2. Ambulance and Akutbil/Akutläkare (emergency doctor car)
    3. Police
    police have lower priority because police is not always about saving lives but firetruck is always about saving lives. a police can be on route to a car thief so it's not as important as a firetruck on the way to a fire.

    You know about "the red cross" symbol. It is the same as the red half moon in islamic contrys. But for a hospital with an ER, they are allowed to sign the place and the roadsigns with it.
    Because it is a sign used in war aswell. So it will only been seen as the line before.
    But the ambulances are supposed to only have a medic symbol, usually involving a snake like an "S" with the head upwards. There is also a blue star or flower on the side of the car.
    The smaller cars that was following the ambulance was a "emergency doctor". If you know that you need more competense at the scene, you bring a doctor and ...the nurse or doctor that are trained to put you to sleep with extra strong stuff to take away your pain. The most "blue light cars" that we have on the Swedish west coast also got a LED-ramp flashing in your mirror together with the blue. And on full light if its dark...we also got cars (Volvo) yellow and green with big letters "LÄKARE" means doctor. also used for donation of organs or rare blood if not a helicopter is faster or in the area. The reflexes on the side of the cars and on the jackets and trousers are magic in the way they are shining back.
    The smaller fire truck is the officer. There is a lot of first aid stuff and equipment to lead the firefighters on site. Different radios (RAKEL, that is a TETRA radiosystem,)(newer system on its way...) and some times more systems to be able to talk to different partners at the same time, like air, sea and military. Often the smaller firetruck are first on scene, and can tell the other cars what to do on scene and call fore backup or other help, like to tell the police to take care of all traffic in the area. Take a look at Scania firetrucks, very well designed. Charlie

    I think you understand the moste importante things, blue flashing lights an sirens are emergency veichels, and all the lights and sounds means.. give way!
    112 is the emergency number in EU, there is others to.. not that emegency, like 114 for talking to police.. in sweden! But yea one can always phone 112, then they send to the right sort of people!
    In anywy, my bad Danish but "Hovedstadens beredskap", translates to "Copenhagen emergeny unit", mostly firefighters but altso ambulances and other stuff!
    "Akutläkare" is an acut doctor, they are for the moste part, part of our healtcare system at trauma clinics, but there is cars in preparedness for them to go out if firefighters/police call on them for emergency! When there is a need for a real doctor!

    Quite used to ambulances in Finland myself. Have tried to kill myself so many times that I could, if they would let me, attach all the cool stuff myself. Spending few weeks in an insane asylum few times a year does wonders to your life. Being served good food, smoking tobacco and doing puzzles or drawing is a pretty good vacation from life.
    E: The reason Finnish police cars have both Polis and Poliisi on them is because at least in southern Finland there are many people who speak mainly Swedish. Especially around Turku and the archipelago (islands). Swedish is the second language here. In Åland everyone speaks only Swedish so I think we should just rent that 💩 to them, but they enjoy being autonomous part of Finland that is demilitarized and allowed to keep their culture.
