- Start from Episode 1 • 'The Big Lap' Original...
G’day Guys,
In this episode we're on a mission to make it to the tip of Cape York 1000km away before the wet season hits and strands us on the Cape for months.
But first we have to find a way to get our wheel bearing fixed after it collapsed on the side of a remote track on Lawn Hill Station.
Here's what's in this episode:
• Fixing our broken down Landcruiser
• Exploring Lawn Hill Gorge by canoe
• Exploring Lawn Hill National Park by air
• Offroad driving to Cape York along station tracks
• The camper trailer breaks (again) and needs welding
• We tackle the Old Telegraph Track
• The Tip of Cape York
Enjoy the show & please LIKE & SUBSCRIBE
See you on the road.
Cheers
Steve, Jen & Girls

One thing this vid taught me is that it's never strong enough, nothing can be over engineered or beefy enough, when you're going for 'The Tip'.
You are the modern day version of the Leyland brothers.
I got your DVD when you released them yesterday ago and good to watch them all again.
Love to see a photo of your family now all these years later 😊
Can I use an awd for the tracks you’ve made so far? I’m planning for such a trip from Melbourne. Will you reckon I get a 4x4 instead. Thanks
Hi Joel, personally I would recommend a proper 4WD which has good ground clearance and low range gearing. It’s not just to avoid getting bogged but 4WDs are built a lot stronger and more able to withstand the constant abuse of the corrugated roads and tracks. In our trip to this point we’ve covered over 5000km of unsealed roads and most of them pretty rough.
Really enjoyed watching your show guys.... I ride a dirt bike to th top a year ago and it made me remember how much fun it is.... cheers, John
Thanks John
