I appreciate how you're able to break down the songs in a way that explains *why* I have such a visceral (positive) reaction to their music. I've been following them for five years (since I first saw "Thrill" in 2015), and while I *know* they're special, as a non-musician, I have often found myself unable to express *how* they're special. Thank you. And I'm really glad you're enjoying them, not just as an "oddity from Japan" but as the world-class musicians and songwriters (and performers) they are.
Don't worry. I have musical training and I don't understand what they do. If I can describe what they technically do in the instruments and in the composition. But this result is completely beyond my understanding. They play very beautiful, is the only thing I can say. Nothing more, no less.
Also he doesn’t do ratings. So like he breaks it down really well, and in a smart way but doesn’t do some weird ratings system. I never understood why people would rate art. It’s weird. So like that’s also a cool thing about him :).
I have a little musical knowledge and training but huge amounts go straight over my head until Chase points it out to me and then it's obvious and I can't believe I didn't hear it in the first place.
I like it when people can appreciate good songs regardless of whether heavy or not, riff-oriented or not. Your reactions always help me appreciate good songs even better. Thank you very much.
Thank you for pointing out MISA...! She is a phenomenal Bassist! One of my favorite songs because of the elements you brought forward. I bought the DVD, when it came out and it is my favorite Concert because they are innovative and important. Coolest Reviewer, I ever heard. Thanks and have a Damn good day!
Really appreciate your analysis because, for the less musically inclined like me, it helps me appreciate their songs even more as I tend to miss the little intricacies and magic of their songwriting. Thank you very much! :)
I think you are right. It is not only the very good musician skills, but especially with their unique style and songwriting their friendship and they give each other credits to shine. Did you know that Miku is a very good Lyric writer who appeals to many Japanese people she even performed solo for television at least 10 movies on youtube . Kanami, the songwriter, started playing piano from the age of 4 , later she wanted in a band but her parents said that she had to finish her studies first and she has and has a university degree in economics while also studying psychology. Saiki accompanied her mother when she was very young to Karaoke bars to sing for the rest of the bar. Akane was during her studie a drummer in a Jazz band in the evening and Misa had some bands ad least 2 before Band-Maid.
That anti-climax where she hits her breathy higher register, then in the last chorus when she starts belting and the band roars up to support her... it makes my heart skip a beat every time. That looping riff... it does something to the rhythm that takes it beyond the regular beat and without Akane having to do anything fancy. I feel like we'd see something like that from Neil Pert, you know? Thanks for these reactions and analyses, I've learned so much from them. If (when) I get back into playing guitar more, I hope I can take what I've learned and apply it to my own arrangements.
It's one thing to have the genius of Kanami's compositions and Miku's lyrical talent and vocal arrangements, it's another thing to have a band that can actually pull it off once it's written. Band-Maid has both.
Great insight. Jazzy, funky, bluesy, punky, poppy, classic, metal Hard rock bands that are so all-round are rare. Please continue to support their magnificent experiments.
@@matthewkolb1694 Band Maid sounds nothing like RUSH, yet they have so much in common with them in all the best ways. I like to say Kiss & RUSH had Japanese babies...😂🎶💖
@@snowdog5895 Perhaps the offspring of Rush and the Runaways? They were label mates (Mercury Records) and toured together after all. Still would not explain them being Japanese though.
Progressive rock BAND-MAID style. Saiki's vocals, just *wonderful* . In my opinion MISA plays nearly lead here at some times. A progressive grooving even funky one. Akane perfectly shaping the song from soft to ecstatic. Again a song that got even better live. Great reaction as always. Rock On!
Misa's style of playing in the band has always been that of counter-melody, second lead guitar. Part of it was from back at the beginning when Miku didn't know how to play guitar yet and Misa had to fill in a lot more of the sound. Now that Miku is a competent rhythm player, Misa still does what she does, but there's a much fuller sound coming at you.
@@armynurseboy You're right, and I know all this. I tend to write comments that are much too long, so I shorten them a lot. I don't like a wall of text. Sometimes the context and or more explanations get lost this way. You put it all in. Thanks.
I was waiting for your reaction video... I have NO CLUE about music, but you educate me there and it shows me what exactly is unique about Band Maid and why i love them so much... I just heard DnB for over a decade, because there was no ROCK or METAL that suited me and Band Maid brought me back into it. I got all albums now, i am excited to watch the online concert and can´t wait to see them LIVE! Great band, great reaction and thank you for your videos, you know what you are talking about!
They are the most beautiful amazing band on the planet. They are so talented, their songs are amazing and they are absolutely fearless and unafraid to mix genres and change it up. These girls have awakened this 68 year old jazz prog fusion drummers love for music. My first musical love was the Beatles and these girls are that world changing. Akane & Misa are one of the most amazingly talented, inventive and intuitive rhythm sections ever to walk the face of this planet
Hi Chase. I love the way you point out things in a performance that otherwise might be easy to miss. There's a Japanese proverb that says " Sleeping people can't fall down". Well it's about time those people woke up & took notice. BAND-MAID's quest for 'world domination' is happening & it continues at Budokan 2021.
Waited the entire day for your reaction to this gem. Thank you very much! There are not enough words to express how good every single member of B-M is. Can't wait for your next Band-Maid reaction.
Some reactors who are knowledgable tend to be very critical and then there are those who are fun to watch but I don't necessarily get anything new out of them. Your reactions imo have managed to hit that sweet spot between them. Your presentation is neat, simple, to the point without lacking that personal touch. Yeah I'm impressed, to the extent that I honestly feel that every hardworking artist out there deserves a reaction like yours. And every fan of those artists needs to watch your reaction to re-appreciate and relive everything that made them fans in the first place. I wasn't very fond of this song but now I fking love it. This is exactly why I've been addicted to reactions for years now, it not only helps me discover new music (infact BM is one of them) but also gives me a new, second and more importantly a more informed perspective on those that I already love. Thank you. This means a lot to me as it makes all the hundreds of hours I spent watching reactions all worth it.
Band-Maid Live Crowdless Live Streaming concert Thursday, July 23rd starting at 4:00 p.m (JST). Tickets went on sale today. bandmaid.tokyo/contents/329014
Saiki's vocals are all over the place in this song and her high notes are so damn insane. A very unique song in their repertoire performed incredibly well, paired with another great reaction to match it!
Konami is the Thoumas of BM and writes everthing apart from the lyrics and I love it when she "Glazes" over every now and then when she hears what she composed and what her friends are playing. Perfect example tailend of this perf ... Beauty 🤘
Chase, you too have a very special talent: that is for explaining music in laymen's terms so that non-musicians such as myself can understand clearly what has been done in the construction of a song. I've heard many of the songs you've reacted to countless numbers of times, yet I listen to your analysis then go back and listen again and hear them with completely 'new' ears. I would love to see you react to some older classics for this very reason, although the chances are you've already heard them!
I came across one of your videos while I was scrolling down some Band maid videos. I not a musician or anything, actually musically illiterate, but hearing your comments and observations make me understand and pick up on those details when listening to the songs again, and it makes me enjoy it even more, if that's possible. You have a great channel and in my humble opinion the best one for reactions! Keep up the great work!!
Skill, knowledge, hard work behind the scenes and enjoying what you do is a powerful combination-applies equally to five young ladies from Japan and one youngish reviewer with a dapper new haircut!
Another brilliant reaction - it's great to get a better understanding and appreciation of what they are producing through your very interesting and informative analysis. I'm 59 today and this was a great start to it! Being such a Boomer, I got to see Zeppelin live in 79 and would now judge Bandmaid to be up there musically as a band - THE best Rock band on Earth right now, basically.
Saiki had surgery on her vocal cords a few years back and has been really improving as a singer ever since. It's very apparent when you listen to lives from a couple of years or even a year ago, versus the most recent ones. Already immediately after the surgery you could hear the difference, but I guess it took some time after it for her to recover & really reach the full capabilities of her voice, and now that she has she uses falsetto and rasp in her singing a lot more than she used to. Before the surgery, even when talking her voice was completely different. It's crazy to go back to old interviews and hear how husky her voice was.
I love Band-Maid already, but the way you pick out and highlight the amazing nuances of their songs, especially the live performances, helps me appreciate them on an even higher level. Keep up the amazing work.
the ladies themselves would be astonished at your preternatural knack for expertly & artfully dissecting what their disciplined genius had crafted to perfection for their genre's posterity.
"All the instruments are working very, very, very hard...including the vocals..." It's great to hear vocals included as an instrument. I am a singer...I really appreciate this.
I agree 100%. They are important, abd will be influential They may never get the commercial success that they deserve, but musicians know and are listening!! Main stream audiences may not hear them, but they will hear their influence on other musicians and bands.
Watch the documents at the end of the Shibuya concert backstage, and seeing how the band was so joyed to the fan reaction to the concert at that location next year. I want to see them in this type of venue in Texas. They really deserve it.
your comments are genius, as ever,,as a very mediocre guitarist you put into words what i cant describe,,these girls have been my fave band for a few years and its very hard to describe why lol
If I hadn't previously subscribed, I would do it instantly now! Because you express with words what I feel since I discovered this amazing band. They're important for the future, for the evolution of our favorite music. I'm not even sure they realize it.
Once again, listening to your breakdown of their songs adds to my listening pleasure. The subtleties they display really generate a full sound not head in many bands today. Miku's rhythm guitar and backing vocals are so understated. She is the glue to make that full sound and deserves so much more credit than she often gets. Thank you once again po.
Loved your commentary. You picked out some fantastic details. This is my favorite piece from _Conqueror._ While you're right to point out that everyone is working collaboratively, I feel that this piece in particular rests on Misa's back. Each instrument is riffing off the bass, it feels, and the interplay between bass and vocals deserves special attention. I'm really looking forward to your next BAND-MAID analysis! I hope you'll also look at BAND-MAIKO soon. They're probably the only band who can come even close to BAND-MAID, which is probably why they never seem to be seen in the same venue together.
I've been a huge Band-Maid fan since New Beginning in '15 and I couldn't imagine appreciating their music anymore then I already do. Then I binge watched your reactions and realized just how many small details I had missed (even after listening to all these songs probably hundreds of times). I appreciate your break downs and you've just earned yourself another sub! Keep up the great reviews!
Evolution is exactly the right word, you nailed it. Each album they make is different from the previous ones. They keep growing and experimenting, which takes not only creativity but courage. Most of them have jazz in their background, but it wasn't as evident in their earlier work. Now it's right out there, which I just love. And that spot where Akane is doing the rimshots--it's a Samba beat!
This revised version of the song live, has just propelled Band Maid light years ahead of the competition on the fusion-rock side eg Polka Dot Starfish, Tri-cot, , Elephant gun ? etc. Why ?.....because their arrangement has excitement , power, maturity and clarity as well as all the complex layers. AGAIN... Band Maid totally blows me away. Good Lord, how much better can they get.? Besides Chase here, do other people realise what is going on here ????
You are absolutely right that they are an important band! Whether the Rest of the world will realize it while they are still around or not is the question. There is no doubt in my mind that they will be recognized at some point, but I hope that is when they are still active, so they can be properly appreciated. There are quite a few songs on Conqueror, along with Wonderland, that are really, really smart. Of course you have to be able to play it, which they can. The writing and arranging is just masterful and still very much Band-Maid. On Conqueror you can here the maturity in their playing, writing and lyrics. They are still growing, which in itself is quite an accomplishment And I'll bet you they have quite a few new ones already in the pipeline, what with C19 sidelining them for what looks like maybe a year.
@@dennisueland8146 Personally, I do like the "yodel" in the Studio version a little bit more. Was a skosh punchier, IMO. But otherwise, as usual.. their live stuff just kills.... Maybe they just need to record their studio albums live, lol.
Her polyp throat surgery is paying dividends bigtime. She has perfected an even better falsetto and that growl is more pronounced than ever. And it is more than just the quality of her voice. She has a distinctive phrasing and delivery all her own. It has been a joy to watch this band improve steadily over time.
I m curious about the live version because it s difficult to sing. As usual (for me) Saiki',s voice is better in live. And she looks so happy good work ladies👏👏👏🤘🤘
Chase thank you. Your enthusiasm and appreciation of their obvious talent rings loud and clear. And there are a number of us that are with you ringing that bell for these ladies - WOW!!!
New BAND-MAID upload✅ New reaction by Chase✅ Nice fresh haircut✅ What a wonderfull day😃 Your commentary and breakdowns gives us plebs so much insight & joy, which makes us appreciate the Bands even more. Keep up the good work.👍
Thanks for adding your street cred to what a longer-term Maidiac like me knows intuitively but can't express as well as you do, mate! They are all so, so good at what they do individually, but as a band, they create musical magic. I really hope they reach their goal of "World Domination" - because they deserve it, and because as you say, they are very important for Rock.
Excellent work Mr. Chase, what a great dissection. I had the feeling that you would love this one. The intricate way of composing it by adding delicate and detailed musical layers shows an immense love for the Music and a job well done. This is ethic. These ladies may be more or less succeed in inspiration when it comes to composing, but they are unbeatable working hard to polish their music and obtain a quality result. Progressive Rock had long since disappeared from the map. It is time to bring it back.
To me this song's chorus is like an old Japanese folk song, over which the band has waived their magic wand - to become yet another example of Band-Maid awesomeness.
Do they make anyone else want to make music? I hear their music and I get happy and I just want to play. And trust me, I'm old and my musical skills peaked 30 years ago, but I just want to play after listening to them. Maybe it's Chase, too, though. Life everything else in life, music isn't magic, it's not miracles, and it's not solely based on some genetic talent. Maybe you can't be super top tier just through hard work, but if you put in the work and the study, you can get pretty close. Chase explains so much of the cogs, gears, and theory that goes into building a good song. It's like he's explaining the perspiration part - the part you can learn - while, for me, BAND-MAID provides the inspiration.
I've always wanted to learn guitar but never made it a priority. Miku is definitely and inspiration to why I'm learning now. How she went from not knowing to now jamming with the band.
LOVE this comment. I'm just a fan like all of you guys. I'm really glad I get to explain some of the magic behind their hard work and music and even happier that you enjoy these reactions.
Gave me goosebumps on "they're very important for the evolution of this kind of music...we need to look after them" . . . Am just happy these talents carved out their space in the world of pop loop music culture
Been watching your Band-Maid reactions since your first. A new sub here. You hit the nail on the head...... "they work very hard for each other". This is from their most recent album "Conqueror", and it is a rather diverse album. If you want to react to it's polar opposite from the album, the try Rinne/Reincarnation th-cam.com/video/CQ9dbEVgZcA/w-d-xo.html . From what I gather (being a fan for the past 5 years), Kanami writes A demo of a song, along with a drum track and vocal melody (MISA has free reign with bass lines.) presents it to the rest of the band, and they go from there. Kanami guides/trains Miku with the rhythm guitar. Miku writes the lyrics with Saiki in mind, and Saiki has the final say on matters if there is a "stalemate".... or if she has a cooler idea in parts. For the song "Blooming" th-cam.com/video/uUt_JBMocKM/w-d-xo.html Kanami gave the girls an assignment to come up with a piece music each (she felt overwhelmed in the writing process) and she would piece it together. The result was one of their best songs yet. (Also from Conqueror)
Great video! Your commentary is making me enjoy Band-Maid on a whole different level. It's really enjoyable to try and pick out the things you say and it makes me appreciate just how special these ladies are. Thank you!!!
Slower than much of their stuff, but it certainly grows on you fast. One thing that makes them different from many bands is that they all seem to really like working together - happiest band in the world.
thats one of my favorite things about this band, organic chemistry between the members. you check out their twitter/instagrams and theyre constantly hanging out with each other or even one stream where Misa gave Akane lessons on the bass lol
Fantastic review again!!!! BAND-MAID = 5 equally gifted members Take any one of them away and it just doesn't work. Plus sound engineer has got to be mentioned as the 6th member. Brilliant review. Had to listen to this song several times to catch all the little gems hidden
@@ChaseCarneson Glad that you're loving your J-rock/metal journey with BABYMETAL and Band-maid. If you wanna go deeper into that hole, then I suggest checking out Maximum the Hormone! My personal favorite of theirs is Yoshu Fukushu
Chase! The way you react to Band-Maid is incredible! You get it!! Most reactors listen t the music and never bring up what’s happening with each musician! Well done mate!!
Akane is using a jazz move rimshot with the bead of the stick in constant contact with the head and the butt of the stick coming down on the rim... GREAT REVIEWS! Can't wait for the new tracks in the new year.
Wonderland is stellar. Their lead singer's voice has really grown since I started listening to them a few years ago. I don't think she's as solid as King Diamond or Brittany Slayes (Unleash the Archers) but it's definitely leagues above most modern singers. The biggest thing that stands out for me is that I have absolutely zero musical talent so being able to set her apart from others is a testament to her levels of awesome. Glad I found your channel dude!
Wonderland is easily one of my favorite songs off conqueror, so i was extremely happy to see them upload the live version. Plus, when people do reactions on youtube, they do them to music videos or live videos, and so a lot of the best songs go unseen. Flying high, liberal, dilemma, catharsis are all such good songs off conqueror and i hope you do take the time to listen to them, even if not for a reaction. Looking forward to cross 🤘
I just haven't gotten tired of their music. I've been listening to their last two releases, "World Domination" and "Conqueror" non-stop for the last week since first hearing them. I just love how you can almost always hear every instrument in their songs. Their mixing is so well done, and their lines are so groovy, as Bruce Campbell would say. Thank you Chase, for introducing them to me. Hope you get into some metal bands from Japan as well. I'd hands down recommend Galneryus.
i've spent the last seven or eight years completely immersed in japanese music across the genre spectrum, and i think there are a lot of massively important things happening over there; just hope more people take notice before art/music goes completely stale in the West.
Another outstanding reaction! I love how they can go from really catchy to something like this, a very smartly composed number. You are right. They are an important band to the "evolution of this kind of music". They are five irreplaceable pillars.
Kanami is such a great composer. You know for sure she is very literate at music theory and knows how to mix various chords to make amazing music. Thanks for the reaction.
Great analysis again Chase. Keep up the good work. I can't remember if it is this song or Mirage from the Conqueror album that Misa said was one of her most challenging songs to play. Also can't remember if this song or Mirage (I get them mixed up in my head) that Kanami asked for phrases from each of the members before she started her composing, which was a new thing for them. This is such a beautiful song and this performace by Saiki was amazing. Her voice has matured so much in the last 18 months - 2 years since they started the World Domination Tour (which this concert was the finale of that 2 year tour). The other video that they dropped is from the 2018 Zepp Tokyo concert which was the start of the World Domination Tour so to speak. It is a great concert but what I think you'll find interesting is how much the band has progressed as a unit both in terms of sound as well as stage presence, especially Saiki and to a lesser extent Miku. Since all you have really so far is the Shinka (Evolution) concert from February of this year it will be interesting to see if you pick up any differences. Keep preaching the good news about Band-Maid and hope to see you at Budokan in February next year! Also, they have a streaming live show coming up on July 23 you don't want to miss!
I think it was in 2017 - wisteriafield2019.hatenablog.com/entry/2020/05/06/184639?_ga=2.140201333.73619967.1588758279-1420402350.1588574733 From the Choose me section: Saiki: Can you tell me why it was the summer of 2017? All: ????? Saiki: It's because I had an operation just at the time. All: (laughing) Kanami: Ah. That's so. Miku: You had an operation on your throat, po. From the Wonderland section: Kanami: Sai-chan's falsetto is beautiful. Miku: Sai-chan's falsetto became possible after the operation on your throat, po. Saiki: Well, that's so. Miku: Until then, you couldn't do it. Saiki: Because the phlegm had obstructed my throat. Like 'Ga-ra-ga-ra.' Miku: Some time ago, Sai-chan asked me, 'How to do falsetto?' po. Saiki: I said, 'I can't do that, because the phlegm obstructs my throat.'
This song is a showcase of Misa's bass playing....but it's not up front...but it's impeccable work...Saiki hitting those hi notes is impressive...but the icing on the cake is the harmanoies between Saiki and Miku....both do great work
Chase! I love how you have both Passion & the Technical Knowledge to be able to break down & take apart, the whole experience, that to a non-musician is like Harry Potter level Magic! Thank you so much for enhancing my Love for Band-Maid! Please don't ever stop!
Chase, you should one time, as an exception, make two reactions in one video. First "Puzzle" as the Rock-version and after that the same song as accoustic version. Must be total fun to see you analizing the same song in such a different "service". I'm excited. Personally I do not know which version I like more, they are both fantastic.
I just really appreciate the way you describe what they do and are doing, probably because it closely matches what I get out of their music, musicianship, and performances.... Thanks!
I agree with all of what you said Chase, we need to support them in any way we can. On a side note, I feel the need to mention Miku's backing vocals, we need to give her more credit than ever on this song, she is doing this while playing rhythm guitar, her voice has such a prefect fit to Saiki , you gotta give it up for that Pigeon!
Hello again.....The groove Misa and Akani create right after the opening vocal section is such a jazzy grove...I absolutely luv it. I heard Misa do a lot of jazz sound in other songs but Amani's drum style was completely unique to on this song. Add in Kanami''s tasteful guitar licks and like you said...another hit !!!!!!!
What a great reaction again. You really have this unique ability to enhance my listening experience by pointing out what makes Band-Maid songs so unique. A unique competent reactor and a unique stunning band, what a match to me as a fan. I see your upload, I press like before listening already. You really should react to Blooming (MV) next. In my opinion their masterpiece from a composition standpoint. I would like to hear what you think about it. And the haircut looks great 👍
Chase, I am so happy to have found your channel. Your analyses is musicaly spot on.The last time that I followed bands for what I considered important music, was in the late 60's and early 70's, YES , Led Zepplin, and Pink Floyd.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for being one of the first reactors that helped me to fall in love with Band-Maid. I saw them live in Chicago 11/1/22 and it was the best show I have ever seen. Two things that you said in this reaction, at the end - they are special and they need to be protected. To see how the USA crowd received these ladies was something special to see. It was a perfect example of 2 thousand people rocking out to the max but at the same time showing complete respect to the artists and having the time of our lives. To see Akane crying during The Endless Story blew me away and it makes you realize even more how much this band connects with the music and their fans. If you have not seen it yet, watch for yourself the Akane focus chicago house of blues Endless Story you tube video. It will melt you in a good way. Cheers!!!
Ok, so I have watched this reaction several times now and it just keeps getting better. As you start getting to the end of the song you were pointing up a couple of times and it kind of went right by me as I was so into Saiki's singing, but after watching and listening a few times I came to realize that you were talking about Kanami playing those high notes. Gar, it was some great stuff. She gets somewhat lost in this song due to Misa just dominating, but, man, Kanami is doing some great work here in this track. She is doing some serious high note picking. Not saying that it was massively hard, just massively smart and cool. Just to have it fit and sound so perfect is quite a trick that high up. Definitely in service to the song. But, isn't that what makes this band so great? That you can go back and listen to them over and over and still find hidden gems that might have escaped you prior. That is good music folks.
MISA!!!!! MISA!!!! MISA!!!!! I got the dvd yesterday, its soooo good. You need to get it. This song is a bit slower than I'm used to but I like how they try different things and like your breakdown again. Looking after them won't be a problem for us Band-Maidiacs
agreed on importance of this group. i've been into music since early 80's, heard it all, so to say. from jazz, classic, rock derivatives, electronic, everything. in these cca. 40 years, only Mozart remained constant. but until B/M, there was not a single band or composer, that i would agree with completely. most bands have one, two, rarely three songs standing out, rest is usually filler. with band maid, from about a hundred songs, one is a little weak (from their first album) and one song from the last edition (a collab with mr. visconti, that sounds overly forced, pressured, also badly mixed), everything else is pure gold. i know exactly, what you mean, when you say, this music makes you happy. for about two years now, i don't care much about any other stuff...
Chase... you're a top 3 BAND-MAID reviewer, for absolute certain! You add so much value! Thank You! I wish you could've reacted to Matchless Gum before it was taken down. Deeper in the catalog, and doesn't get enough love... IMHO.
More MISA the better in all honesty, also you can really hear a Santana influence in Kanami's playing in this one in my opinion. If you get a chance in between their new uploads, I would strongly recommend Daydreaming. It's something a little different, more along the lines of Wonderland in that its not full in the face rock, but it has Kanami's favourite solo in it. On a side note, would you mind putting links to the original video in the description of your reactions? Helps people find more of the bands you react to :)
"Bandmaid are very important for rock music evolution." . . .your words will be remembered again in the future for sure. 👊
Yes, yes, yes....a man who understands.
Thank you. And I'm really glad you're enjoying them, not just as an "oddity from Japan" but as the world-class musicians and songwriters (and performers) they are.
exactly this.
I'm LOOOOVING them. Thank you for supporting and taking the time to write these kind words.

This isn't just a reaction channel, it's a music appreciation channel.
I like this!!! Like, lots.
The technical insight is refreshing...educational.
Hell yes. Absolutely the most accurate statement I've seen today :). Really enjoy what you do Chase and how you do it!!
Totally agree
Thank you very much for watching and supporting.
Akane is also an active DJ! She and Misa plays piano as well.
Jazzy, funky, bluesy, punky, poppy, classic, metal
Hard rock bands that are so all-round are rare.
Please continue to support their magnificent experiments.
Great statement right off!
Band-Maid ... it's becoming my fav band of all time. On top of really big, I mean, BIG bands...!!
Rush 2.0, looking forward to decades more of excellence.
@@matthewkolb1694 Band Maid sounds nothing like RUSH, yet they have so much in common with them in all the best ways.
I like to say Kiss & RUSH had Japanese babies...😂🎶💖
They really are pretty amazing.
Really love that you're enjoying them and finding them helpful. Thank you for the support.
I can't tell you how much this kind of comment means to me. Really appreciate you taking the time to write this. Thank you for the support.
Very well put.

Saiki's vocals are all over the place in this song and her high notes are so damn insane. A very unique song in their repertoire performed incredibly well, paired with another great reaction to match it!
Nice to have a sound engineer who gives the bass its due, letting it shine.
This honestly means the world. I'm really glad you're enjoying them and finding them useful. Appreciate you taking the time to write this.
"Secret my lips" - th-cam.com/video/1Vuca7V-5Ec/w-d-xo.html
"YOLO" - th-cam.com/video/wKZbzcUdY1g/w-d-xo.html
Absolutely Monster Tracks.
Two great ones.
I already appreciate Band Maid. But you sir always makes me appreciate them more with your analysis.
I'm sure the girls of Bandmaid will be very much honored by your analysis. Also I see in your future a meal AND new shoes, lol!
Their approval would be wonderful. Also, a pizza and some new Jordan 1s wouldn't hurt haha
Saiki loves Jordans.
I really would hope so. They're magical and really glad I get to talk through their music with you all.
"All the instruments are working very, very, very hard...including the vocals..."
It's great to hear vocals included as an instrument.
Then look at the Gringopablo post earlier today That does not help.
Hi Chase, from Tokyo. Thanx always, for reacting and supporting BAND-MAID❗ Hope you enjoy them❗Really enjoying your reaction. 😁🔥😁
This one always gives me chills. Saiki really knocks it out of the park.
It turned me into a band liver, before it was just Misa and Arkane
nice analysis. How on earth they composed a song like this? Every layer of instrument and vocal is amazing. That is musically genius
If I ever get stuck in Groundhog Day, I hope I'm at a Band-Maid concert!
your comments are genius, as ever,,as a very mediocre guitarist you put into words what i cant describe,,these girls have been my fave band for a few years and its very hard to describe why lol
If I hadn't previously subscribed, I would do it instantly now! Because you express with words what I feel since I discovered this amazing band. They're important for the future, for the evolution of our favorite music. I'm not even sure they realize it.
The groove in this one is something damn fierce, I likes a lot
Nice huh?
Once again, listening to your breakdown of their songs adds to my listening pleasure. The subtleties they display really generate a full sound not head in many bands today. Miku's rhythm guitar and backing vocals are so understated. She is the glue to make that full sound and deserves so much more credit than she often gets. Thank you once again po.
Their individual parts interweave with such complexity that it is really hard to separate them.
Welcome to the team and thank you for the support.
Welcome to the team and thank you for the support.
Now when I see a new BANDMAID video and get excited, I get equally as excited to hear Chase talk about it. The gift that keeps on giving :)
Aaaah you're too kind. Glad you enjoyed.
One of the gem of their new album. So glad they upload this one so everybody can appreciate how good this song. Great reaction Chase.
This version destroys the studio version entirely because of Saiki’s maturing vocal talent.
Went back and listened to the studio version. It seems a lot heavier and driving. This live version seems more light and airy and laid back and happy.
@@dennisueland8146 Nice differentiation. Both versions are great in their own way, and I find myself shifting back and forth between the two.
Chase thank you. Your enthusiasm and appreciation of their obvious talent rings loud and clear. And there are a number of us that are with you ringing that bell for these ladies - WOW!!!
New BAND-MAID upload✅
New reaction by Chase✅
Nice fresh haircut✅
What a wonderfull day😃 Your commentary and breakdowns gives us plebs so much insight & joy, which makes us appreciate the Bands even more. Keep up the good work.👍
You're the best! Appreciate this.
Absolutely! I can't see them stopping anytime soon. They are just phenomenal.
Sooooo glad you enjoyed it!
My man is back for Band-Maid analysis. Love it. 🤘🤘🤘
To me this song's chorus is like an old Japanese folk song, over which the band has waived their magic wand - to become yet another example of Band-Maid awesomeness.
I'm happy to find another Kevin Band Maid fan...Cheers!!....
yes they are very important...I hope the world catches on...great job!!!
True words
I've always wanted to learn guitar but never made it a priority. Miku is definitely and inspiration to why I'm learning now. How she went from not knowing to now jamming with the band.
LOVE this comment. I'm just a fan like all of you guys. I'm really glad I get to explain some of the magic behind their hard work and music and even happier that you enjoy these reactions.
Don't forget to watch their online concert...😊😊😊
Gave me goosebumps on "they're very important for the evolution of this kind of music...we need to look after them"

Thank you!!!
cheers! thank you for another bandmaid reaction! yes they're important and I love them! the bassline in this track is such a joy to listen to.
7:50 this is why I love your reactions. Maybe because it’s so quick but I never noticed that change but dammit now I love the song even more.
Its funny cause they once said that if they were classmates in a school, they would never be friends lmao
This reaction/discussion about this song just made my day! Thank you!🙂
Thank you for watching.
Fantastic review again!!!! BAND-MAID = 5 equally gifted members Take any one of them away and it just doesn't work. Plus sound engineer has got to be mentioned as the 6th member. Brilliant review. Had to listen to this song several times to catch all the little gems hidden

Thanks for this reactions. You are gold, bro.
Glad you like them! Thank you for the support.
I never get tired of hearing that opening guitar melody. One of the coolest, most beautiful thing I've ever heard.
BLOOMING!!!!!
Such a beautiful voice, can’t believe back in 2016 Saiki had throat surgery.

From the Choose me section:
Saiki: Can you tell me why it was the summer of 2017?
All: ?????
Saiki: It's because I had an operation just at the time.
All: (laughing)
Kanami: Ah. That's so.
Miku: You had an operation on your throat, po.
From the Wonderland section:
Kanami: Sai-chan's falsetto is beautiful.
Miku: Sai-chan's falsetto became possible after the operation on your throat, po.
Saiki: Well, that's so.
Miku: Until then, you couldn't do it.
Saiki: Because the phlegm had obstructed my throat. Like 'Ga-ra-ga-ra.'
Miku: Some time ago, Sai-chan asked me, 'How to do falsetto?' po.
Saiki: I said, 'I can't do that, because the phlegm obstructs my throat.'
@@glenkelley6799 Thank you for this!
I really appreciate that. Honestly means the world. Promise we're not stopping anytime soon.
I heard Misa
do a lot of jazz sound in other songs but Amani's drum style was completely unique to on this song.
And the haircut looks great 👍
Wow, thank you! Blooming has to be next, that or cross. But it's coming soon I promise. Thank you for the support.
@@ChaseCarneson Blooming is sheer genius, just sayin.

Cheers!!!
Aaaah this makes my day. Thank you so much for the kind words and I really appreciate the support. So glad you got to see them live.
This song is a song that prays to stay with him who the girl loves forever.
agreed on importance of this group. i've been into music since early 80's, heard it all, so to say. from jazz, classic, rock derivatives, electronic, everything. in these cca.
IMHO.
Thanks again Chase. Very enjoyable reaction!
Glad you enjoyed it
More MISA the better in all honesty, also you can really hear a Santana influence in Kanami's playing in this one in my opinion.
Love Daydreaming...one of my top 5 for sure!...
