Guarantee the large majority of sales at these ridiculous prices are just resellers getting them hoping to flip right away while the prerelease hype drives it up more. It will be mostly resellers just selling to each other because they think they can make a quick buck. Once the set releases there will be a race to the bottom and a bunch of shady resellers will be stuck holding the bag on the product they payed way more than the should have for. To any actual collector, refuse to pay these prices, be rational and don’t fomo. If nobody buys then they will ultimately be stuck with the product, have to sell at a loss and probably leave the hobby again to go look for something else they can scam people with.
I literally have about $700 that I’m ready to spend on Pokemon stuff but I will not spend a dime over MSRP on these stuff. I will hold off until a crash.
people were regularly paying 200 dollars for 10 packs of prismatic evolution on a whatnot stream today. Many people willing to pay quadruple MSRP on pre release items. The pull rates are shit as well
@sinfulcomment ok let me ask you this why are the prices of prismatic evolutions so high? Is it because the cards in that set are playable or because they are collectible?
@@ImpulsiveTCC If these existed for the gameplay side of pokemon it would have died a long time ago. Majority of the hobby is "collecting". If these aren't playable then the prices don't matter anyways. You can play the same deck without IR or SIR because the same card already exists which would be considered bulk that you can buy for cents. If you are ONLY a "player" then opening packs is the dumbest waste. The "players" effected by the prices are the ones that want to bling out their decks. There is a balance and right now the open market is deciding the prices. As a collector I don't like those prices either and refuse to pay that much for a new set. The collective market and the community is driving those prices which arguably hurts collectors more than players.
As someone who's collected for almost 20 years now, it hurts to see what the hobby's become since the pandemic days. On the bright side, my collection is worth more (not like I'd sell it though) and the local shops can make a bit more money. On the dark side is everything we've been seeing...increased prices, increased demand, lack of supply from the manufacturers and lack of response from TPCI regarding these issues unlike other companies that have been doing print-to-demand lately. I know TCPI tried PtD back during the XY days but that was before the PTCG was so mainstream under major influencers.
I was thinking about collecting Pokémon cards again but the prices of all these different boxes regardless of when they released are way over priced. Its not worth it.
Lets be honest the winners here are the Pokemon company. They are going.. and mark my words.. in 6 months these products will be printed beyond oblivion. The real winner will be the pokemon company. The scalpers will lose and the people FOMOing will lose. Just wait and stay put and you will have these products at a very affordable price in 6+ months. It is impossible to beat the printers. Pokemon will print as much as needed so if scalpers want to have 1000 boxes in their closets then you will have it. This set is going to be shining fates at this ratio being in stock for the next 4 years.
Whats funny, this whole day or week is every TH-camr talking about how bad the hobby is right now.... ZzZzZzZ not an original thought on here. Do something boys if ya'll tubers care so much (okay time to watch the video now)
Bro… YOU’RE outrageous. 🤗 Not shopping any set post Surging at this point. All my focus is in the rear view and I’ll just look at all the older stuff I wanted to chase and missed or haven’t yet
coffee, poke talk, and shop shinyvert.com
@ShinyVert no way this is sustainable. It is a TCG and speculators alone can’t carry the hobby. Players are getting chased out and change is coming.
here in nz all our stores have them at normal prices....
Not sure whats worse the scalpers trying to 5X a brand new product or the idiots that buy them
Idiots buying them forsure lmao 🤣
Exactly.. who is buying these.. smh.
@@jeffreyhammack3557 the people buying imo

It’s crazy because the sets haven’t even come out yet that makes it even more nuts
literally insane
That’s the only reason they can even try to do it. Taking advantage of the high levels of fomo.
I literally have about $700 that I’m ready to spend on Pokemon stuff but I will not spend a dime over MSRP on these stuff. I will hold off until a crash.
Save up $700 more and you could just buy the whole master set in Japanese.😆

The collection side of the hobby is hurting the player side of the hobby with all these crazy prices.. smh
The collection side has very minimal effect. The people buying out to flip the next day on eBay is not a collector.

All the more reason to stop trying to get a master set on these new sets... Now we wonder when a crash will happen...

It’s really sad, I think it’s crazy how expensive it is 😢
Luckily I was able to snag two prismatic evolutions Pokémon center ETBS before the hype
hell yea
Considering the most hyped set in years came out and sold-out release day, am somewhat curious when the “before the hype” buying window was.
I agree broski ITS ABSOLUTELY BULLSHIT. And the fact it was mapped... makes it even harder to retrieve
Todays market is INSANE
problem is the umbreon SIR might be really expensive. This might keep prices going higher for the lottery ticket chase.
Might be really expensive is a dumb take. The unbreon is going to make gold stars look cheao
The card isn't even good either. These tera pokemon look so stupid. This era needs to go so we can get good looking cards.
I hope pokemon prints Prismatic like they did Shining Fates back in the last boom. 😂
Hey vert question you talked about smoke a mirror if you buy six booster boxes on there website do they send you a case?

Looking at how it's been so hard to get Stellar Crown and Surging Sparks I don't know...will it calm down?
Gonna have to sit back and watch this what the market does cause this is crazy. It may be time to take a break from collecting. Love the vids bro
As a coĺlector it sad i guess ill be saving my money and let scalper and streamer fight it out it was fun but not anymore
Keep reporting the scalpers fam. ❤ English still stay expensive & I will be opening Japanese instead lol.
Scalper: everyone that got product except the person complaining
Best time to chill and buy singles for all the past few sets.
I heard some people are reporting them now on ebay saying it fake
The hobby is alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@scalpertcg1637 name is crazy lmao
@ appreciate that.
Even though i have some nice pricey cards i cant wait for the bubble to burst

love u bro
It's like with Rolex 2 years ago. I guess it's gonna cool down in 2026.
Pokémon to height now and people are gonna spend money like a dumb ass it’s not worth it

I hope you‘re right but why didn’t the Company meet the demand for 151 then? If they wanted they would have done that…
Hmm maybe I can trade my prismatic pc etb for a celebration upc? Anyone want to trade?
I’d be interested! Shoot me a msg!
