  • Did you know that corporal punishment in schools is used as much as 50 percent more frequently on children who are Black or who have disabilities? Attorney Jeremy Hogan discusses corporal punishment laws (both at home and in schools). What do you think about corporal punishment? Should it be up to the parents? Should it be allowed in schools?

I'm 47 and I got my bare ass beat with a belt for embarrassing them. One day I stood up

Well seems to me since corporal punishment was taken away from alot of schools in America, people have become more out of control...

There are statistics supposedly that spanking causes trauma probably because a lot of times it was done excessively and then appropriately. Now, let’s talk about the statistics of misbehaved and disrespected children/ teens in today’s society.

0:30 Why? Honestly why? That was back when teachers were hypocrites. You get in a fight and what the principal does to discipline you is basically do the same thing...but with a paddle🤦‍♂️

I tried to make a comment explaining the fallacy in his argument about why AA kids get spanked more (they do more crimes and get worse grades in school) but TH-cam Zucced my comment -_- they can’t handle the truth!

i say yes cause what other parents didn't they just can't handle their own children anymore. well truth is kids are more trouble then ever. it's respect you're parents never break something that means something to them. now you see what happens when most people keep up starting a problem with me i tried to do some good now you regret having same old me.

Any children reading this who are getting "spanked" or "beaten" by their parents, pick up the phone and call 911. Report child abuse. Tell the truth. Tell the operator if you've ever had bruises if your muscles hurt if you are held down by the arms, or if you are touched without clothing (ie spanked on your bare skin). Cal 911, report the abuse!

And if the parent beats you for calling 911...that’s more of a reason to call them. Whatever they do, the police will take care of. And try to defend yourself too, the law says that if someone’s hitting you, you can hit them in self defence.

Spanking is not supposed to be the same as beating. If you are causing bruises and bleeding you are doing too much.

As a man now, I have to say spanking have made me a better person. It taught me how to respect my elders, how to be reasonable, not to misbehave. As a kid, I was a game addict, and I would steel my parent's money, not understanding how hard it was to earn them back in the 80s. Imagine minimum wage was $2, and I just stole $20-$100 . Do I deserve to be physically punish, well............lets just say I'm glad I was. Because of punishment, I had to step up and improve my report cards. As an Asian, coming home with D's and C's got me whip all the time. I was a wild child, I would leave home, and not come home until Sun set.
I don't approve physical punishment, but it got me straight in life. I don't smoke, or do drugs, I never join a gang.
As I see the children of today, where parents are now afraid of the law for punishing their own children, it made children selfish, mentally and emotionally sensitive over small things, because parent never laid a hand on them for their mistakes.

aren't there other ways of punishing them that don't involve spanking? it sure as hell wouldn't have set me straight given how much I hit myself on a daily basis.

Nothing surprising there. Corporal punishment in schools is way different and softer than in prisons and jails.

I grandmother would swat us on our butts with a wooden spoon if we got out of line. But that was about it. I don't see a spanking to be abuse. Now if you constantly keep hurting the child that's abuse. But thinks to the times if you even yell at a kid you can go to jail.

No more corporal punishment but capital punishment sure.. it's called a drug overdose and a restraint. Just for like getting tired from carrying crates full of rocks from 1 pile to the other that's actually what the boarding schools in america are like. A racial boarding school for native americans Hispanics and african american children. Even though I have white skin...my grandfather was from the apachi native reservation and my family is from barrow alaska. But I guess I followed the rules and popped out 2 blonde haired blue eyed kids.

A lot of today's kids are not educated and they have no skills. Life is very hard when you have no skills or education. A degree doesn't automatically mean that you have these things. You need to discipline your kid when warranted and make them sit down and learn when they don't want to. Many kids don't listen to talking. They see it as weak. They see you as weak. Many kids be on a power trip. That is simply the reality. Just because your kid is good doesn't mean that all others are the same. Some of ya'll need to be around some very bad kids

@@tap_for_once Asian kids outperform everyone. While American kids (esp males) are dying of fentanyl. Is that better? We also incarcerate more ppl in the US because many kids are illiterate, uneducated & unskilled and commit crime to get money. There’s plenty of opportunities to make it but they’re entitled and would rather steal. And I’m a blk American and not asian
