For the people saying that the s class is exactly the same as the MAYBACH, once you see how an actual base S-klasse is, you really start to notice the difference, diamond stiching, vip rear seats, permanent center console, double the rear seat legroom, more sound insulation, even better ride quality, and the new vertical line grill which looks stunning as well as the chrome B-Pillars. Pure Silver champane flutes with a fridge with cut-outs for champane bottles and heated and cooled cup holders. Just elegant.

I think the S-class is just as the 7-series a great car. I would like to take a test drive to decide which ones fits me the most :)
on this segment there are no bad cars but S class is the King.
bmw can do 7 series with better handling, Audi A8 also have a nice compromisse on confort and handling, but for confort S class is the best.
Love that interior. Such a quiet car.

I am very BMW biased because I've been brought up around BMW's and I even drive an E39(520i)......buuuuut, I just cant help picking the S class over the 7 series. The Mercedes feels more luxurious and more sophisticated than the BMW.
S-Class all the way. That 350d engine sounds terrific! ( or doesn't sound, maybe I should say )

Definitely the light interior all the way. I can't stand an all-black interior. This appears to be what Mercedes calls "Silk Beige/Espresso Brown" colour combination. They also offer a "Porcelain/Black" colour combination which, in my view, would be perfect if it came with a light colour headliner instead of black.
Is this the short wheel base model?
I would be comparing the s400d vs the 740d and I would be inclined to pick the s400d but the ambient lighting in the BMW is nicer especially the sunroof lights at night.

Think about how dirty the interior will get in time i would get one with black seats and staring wheel..
20" tyres are not for comnfort....

Great car. Cream steering wheel? No thanks needs to be darker
First time i see a light coloured interior with added white stalks as gear selector and indicator stalk. 99,9% of the time these are just black in light interiors.

It was so beautiful car. They destroyed W222 with these new steering wheels, bumpers, exhaust design etc.

S350d whit dark interior, the BMW 7 series are for sport versión, no low versión like 730d, in that case Mercedes always

Is there a noticable difference between s350d and s400d in terms of performance?

Egemen Algan difference is the torque. s400d has a bit more so means faster. but they pretty much the same.
