One big problem however remains: All the plastic waste used e.g. as bricks still are beeing used in the nature for roads for example. Through erosion and time lots of small plastic particles are rubbed down which again results in enviromental pollution.

Perhaps instead of garbage they should say "waste"
Algae can be seen as "garbage" in some ecosystems. Too much can block sunlight below the water and kill aquatic plant life. How you end up with swamp and bog.

Had a few thoughts about this:
With the chopsticks, they could also be shredded into wood chips.
India seems to have more cost efficient and truly circular ways of reusing waste. The US companies always seem to suffer from over-complicating the process which makes it too expensive to scale up or become mainstream.
Lastly, I really hope the products being created end up being properly disposed at their end-of-life (especially single-use ones like the pineapple plates). In the case of the plates, hopefully people are composting them, rather than throwing them away. Otherwise it doesn't really keep waste out of the landfill, it just delays that inevitability.

To the people complaining about the plastic usage: WHAT do YOU suggest we do with the plastic then?
If we don't recycle it, *what then?*
How do we replace and get rid of it, if you don't want us to recycle it?
Remember that something being durable is necessary, so it doesn't get instantly thrown away.
If it is possible to make all plastic products recyclable, we will essentially be able to cut down on the plastic produced in the first place, and harvest the ocean and landfills that are currently filled with the stuff.

The soot in to tiles thing is actually awful for the environment. The tiles are made from concrete, which is a large source of greenhouse gasses, then it is "watered for a week" so that they cure properly. They also state that the only carbon they are capturing is particulate matter, *not* the stuff that is causing global warming.
There was a video I found a while back talking about the process (the place all the clips in this video came from), only a small amount of soot is used, it is still being produced and there is no carbon capture from the smokestacks ect, it's just plain old charcoal.

Thank you business insider for these kinds of innovative videos series. In this video, all the inventions are very nice except but we can't avoid the wear and tear damage. So the plastic roads, bricks increases the microplastic in the ecosystem. Which will increase its presence in every food supply chain. The good way is to stop producing the plastics or use the enzyme to digest them to avoid microplastic problems.

I thought about using recycled plastics for fence posts or roll way sleepers. The issue is it will break down and not be contained.
Using recycled plastics to stop it spreading further doesn't seem to be a goal.
Using them away from sunlight like internal walls, inside furniture framing, funky lamp shades etc can avoid needing to worry about homogenous color and texture.
Use low energy new plastics where its needing to be cleaned and recycled plastics where is can be rougher.
I wouldn't want to work in those factories without a air-feed respirator

I am interested to see just how biodegradable some of the products are. Like how long will it take, because one way or another these products will end up in a land fill. Those sneakers that are made from plastic bags, as innovative as they are, can't just be thrown away. I as a consumer would want to know because the question is, how much of an impact are we really making on the environment and on "global warming".

It’s another time of the year. One need to set goals and take a bold step in achieving them. Remember success are not obtained overnight. It’s comes in installments; you get a little bit today a little bit tomorrow until the whole package is given out the day you procrastinate you lose that day of success.

This is terrible video. All of companies presented have serious flaws and are extremely unsustainable. For example furniture from chopsticks is an unscalable labor intensive business based on lack of ban on single use chopsticks in Vancouver. Shoes from plastic is the same. Labor intensive and cheap only because cheap labor.

@@sumantraraychaudhuri3077 He has a valid point. These ideas were touted as eco-friendly, sustainable and waste recycling which they are clearly not.
The only good ideas were those that didn't 'reuse' single use items and didn't rely on mixing plastic with organic. Maybe the world would be better if more people were skeptic instead blindly parroting what they are told.

the only problem with all these things is that they'll just end up in a landfill anyway so it doesn't really matter how environmentally friendly they are. Nobody recycles anymore, everybody just throws everything in the garbage and the tiny minority of people that do still recycle definitely isn't enough to change anything, unfortunately.
