I think learning C is very advantageous as a first language. Everything just gets easier after that, especially Python, which becomes a breeze.

    • @yogik2080

means after c we can learn python directly

    • @rickk3300

Yes right, once we learn c nicely, it becomes easier to learn DSA too. Everything in DSA has to be implemented by ourselves if use c to learn it. That simply clears the concepts to the best possible extent. And then, also we can very easily switch on to any programming language of our wish once we learn c.

Absolutely right. C is the best language to start learning as base to learn any programming language.

I’d say C/C++ or Java. At least in my own experience learning Java greatly improved my programming fundamentals. After learning any of the three listed above, picking up another language is piece of cake.

I started with C because, at that time, other languages were basic variants. I found that learning JavaScript (and all the framework) was difficult for me with all the functional programming. I didn't like Python at first because of Tabs but got used it eventually. Most of the time I do Google programming. Learn the basics and google how it is done in a particular language.

Jenny is right - go for python if you want to learn programming and know nothing about it.
Web Development (Apps and Services) - learn stacks - MEAN and MERN which use JavaScript (ES6+), Spring which uses Java, ASP.NET, MVC which uses c# and Jhoomla which uses Python
Andoird - Java (old) and Kotlin (new),
iOS - Objective C (old) and Swift (new)
Game development - C# stands out here - check out Unity framework
Systems level development like OS, Databases, VMs, protocol design etc - go for C/C++
Note: many languages can be used for all purposes - that is why we have something called "general purpose language". Some famous general purpose languages are Java, Python and C#.

    Hi Jenny,
Nice to see your videos, It is really helpful.
Currently I am working as a embedded developer.
I would like to add few things here along with your good suggestion.
    1. Instead of selecting of a programming languages, learner should find where they want to work.
    2. What is their secondary goal towards the programming language.
    3. Is any dependency or similarity between those(Two different domain will make loose the interest if
you found another programming language is vast).
    4. The learning language is not important much than making self a logic creator or developer.
    5. Programming languages are just a group of syntaxes which help to write your thought process in the
form of code, So request all learners to find their interest first before start learning.
    6. Also I will never suggest python first, the C language will be easier to start and building the core
concept which will help learner to understand the operating system concept and also to understand
    the compiler behavior.
I have found your channel and it is really interesting.
    Thanks for such initiative.

learn JavaScript which is used everywhere, you can work in front end , backend, ios and android hybrid mobile app,
JavaScript and python are the most popular language currently,
I would suggest start investing in Typescript which is superset of JavaScript and probably the future,
I don't see Java as the future, there are many language have came which is far better than java which is kotlin and Go, java do have job opening for now as well but will it be in future as well , can't really say that
If you learnt any of these language like JavaScript, python, java, etc then learn oop concept with any of ur fav lang , then learn design pattern then learn how to write a scalable application, there are many things to say but for now this is enough.

I think the fundamental languages like C/C++/Rust are the ones to pick as first. These languages actually teach you what's going on in your computer rather than hide everything under nice abstractions.
If you have no idea what one to choose, go C++. It's multi-paradigm so you won't need to jump languages often, and it's pervasive in a lot of fields. Just don't attempt to try and learn all of C++ at once, it's a BIG, BIG, BIIIIGGG language and if you think you know all of it, you don't know half of it. As soon as you finish the basic C++, pick up a project to work on.

Students should always try to learn the basics and have a mastery over the mother language... which is C / C++.... Rather than trying to learn Java, C#, Python straightaway.
I won't recommend anyone to learn Python at first. Students tend to lose the feel of programming.

I agree, learning python feels like using a n already fully developed app to make another app. C is the master because python is created using C

I've been looking at java vs python, some say java first is better since its bit complex and going for python after java will be great and easier and others say since python is easier its better to learn first which one would you suggest out of these two? I've learnt c and c++ but long time ago, its like relearning with new language.

Python is not recommended for app development. For app development, you should learn Java or Kotlin ( Android ) and Swift ( iOS )
