Greatest College Football Team to ever grace the face of this earth. There will never be a better one. You can talk until you're blue in the face if you think there's a better one, but the stats are undeniable. And for those who say "oh that was years ago, players are bigger and faster"... Well there was this team in the NBA called the CHICAGO BULLS during the same exact time period and you will struggle to find someone who say's there was a better dynasty. Players are indeed more athletic today with all the new recruiting methods we have now, but 20 years ago isn't that long ago lol people who say that Alabama will beat this Nebraska team are just dumb. This was one of the best teams in history no doubt. And untill we have a time machine no one will ever know. But I would put my money on 95, 96 Nebraska. And I would also out my money on the 96 bulls. Expecially if the NBA still let them play like men and get physical.

"Debate me and I'll show you fact after fact to prove you wrong.
" You posted this before LSU2019 came to be. Still want to debate with LSU 2019 in the mix?
I wouldn't. I will flat out own you. LSU 2019 will be the best ever when ESPN has another best ever teams which they did in Sept 2019. 150 teams with 150 voters (see the list) and Neb95 came in 4th. Neb71 was #1.
As time has gone on, we've come to realize the anomalies of the 95 season and Neb95 has fallen bec of that.
The bottom line: Spurrier did not show up just like Osborne didn't show up 2 games later against ASU and suffered just the 3rd shutout of his career (307) and 10th worst loss. Or is this where Osborne gets some kind of special caveat that Neb fans love to bring. You know, had Neb not missed the FG against FSU, but failing to mention FSU missed one against Neb. Net: FSU still would have won. Neb enablers, got to love em.

Well, since Frazier didn't win the Heisman bec the Heisman voters consider schedule, then I'm guessing Frazier would have been another bust in the NFL.
The Heisman vote is early Dec, before bowls. Neb's strength of schedule after the bowls was 24th, OSU was 8th. Since Neb played #2 in the bowl and OSU played #4. The strength of schedule at Heisman time would have even been greater.
Bottom line: The Heisman voters weren't as impressed with who Frazier had to face vs who George had to face.

I love Tommy Frazier, as a Nebraska fan, but I'm also a realist. Eric Crouch was the better QB, but he'll never get credit for it having played on a far less talented overall TEAM. Think about this one fact, NINE defensive backs on the 1995 Nebraska roster, nine of them, went on to play in the NFL. Probably the biggest hindrance for Crouch was coaching, though, Solich tried to rely on Crouch far too much, because Crouch could do the most insane things back there. I wish I could show the graphs that demonstrate the comparison between Frazier's overall offensive production (related to the entire team) and Crouch. It is astounding how much Nebraska leaned on one player, and it was a bad move, as seen against Colorado and Miami in 2001. If you want to debate that fact, take a look at what happened the year after Crouch left Nebraska, in 2002 the team went 7-7, the first non-winning season in FORTY years. Frazier was amazing, but there is a case to be made for Crouch, who would have also likely won just as easily as Frazier did, and arguably, maybe more. Husker fan forever.

who knew that Crouch played defense too? CO 62 pts, Miami 34 pts at half time.

Frazier, 16 avg yds per pass
      Crouch, 14

The 1995 Nebraska Cornhuskers played 4 postseason top 10 teams who, against teams that weren't Nebraska or each other, had a combined record of 39-0.
      Nebraska outscored them 196-73.
Nebraska had no holding calls all season. The offensive line gave up 0 sacks. The team was so deep that the fourth string RB went on to become an all pro and the Packers all time leading rusher. QB2, despite almost never playing his senior season behind Tommie Frazier, was projected to be drafted in the first two rounds before his tragic death.
Anyone who says a team other than the 95 Huskers for best of all time was born after 1990 and is suffering from recency bias.
