Talk about missing the point entirely - in a time when we were being subjected to monosyllabic derivative crap like Moloko's "Sing It Back", this was lampooning the BRAIN DEAD dance "culture" of the time.
A rock band who I imagine weren't huge disco fans and they made a really interesting sounding song as a result. It sounds like 70s disco played backwards. That said the chorus is glorious!
Definitely inspiration for disco elysium
The irony of this song gets lost on so many.
nowadays is kinda meaningless
@@cracklosnilla You think people don't take drugs in clubs any more? 😂😂
@@MGrayl-ib5fo I said that because It has been so normalized, but you are right Mr Gray
UN JOUR JE SERAI DE RETOUR PRÈS DE TOI
What a juicy bass line!
Check out Pleasure by Spandau Ballet - ripped it right off!
One of their best songs to my ears, definately my favourite on this album, and this is a fine album.

@@MGrayl-ib5fo yeah, superb writing from Mr Wire. The irony was not lost on me.

James and Nicky swapped instruments for this song
Hi Amina
Love it. Wasn't this a hidden song on the album
I wish... it was ''we are all bourgeois now''
At the end of the song, who "sings" "braindead mfkers"? Is that James voice?
Nicky Wire
No it's mine...
Also, isn't it interesting how an English language speaking band says "EuropA" rather than "Europe", lol.
They're Welsh, bozo....
Europa is the German pronunciation of Europe, my guess is that they wanted to bring up some dark pre-1945 vibes by using it.
They're referring to Europa, not Europe. Two very different things. Hence the spelling.
Did they borrow this from a the smiths?
