To my mind all of the ¨emergency¨ stuff is just gravy. This radio is compact and sounds GREAT! When the Power Saver mode is not in use the power and sound quality are fantastic. I use it as my daily bathroom radio and it is loud enough to hear clearly over the shower sounds and battery life is great. The only portable radio I own with better sound is my bedside CC Crane 2E with a 5¨ speaker, but that is huge and heavy.
Just a couple of things you missed: This radio actually has a “Power Saver” mode . You can still use the radio and or flashlight, but with less power usage. Also not mentioned, the extra large solar panel. 📻🙂

The Sidekick seems to have everything this radio has except the Sidekick has an insane lightning system incorporated into the Sidekick's classy design and Bluetooth also included.
That CCRANE CRANK WEATHER RADIO has 9 kHz step on AM as FM automatically switches to Japanese FM band. Eton Sidekick’s AM bandwidth uses 2 kHz. 1107 AM broadcast on 1110 kHz on Eton Sidekick (3 k off), receives bit clear but on 4 and 5 kHz off, receives very distortedly. ETON EXECUTIVE SHORTWAVE RADIO ON AM has bandwidth change from 2 to 6 kHz.

KMOX-Radio was on the 3d floor and there was only one break room and one restaurant in the building, so I met and knew most everyone from both. Thus, KMOX is one of my favorite stations. Sadly, because of 1110-WBT Charlotte N.C., it takes a very selective Radio to separate the 2 stations. This one certainly does. 📻🙂

I forgot to mention that the radio was able to received 2 out of 7 NOAA weather stations in my office. This is good for that noisy room.
You can also set to Japanese FM band and automatically switches AM step to 9 kHz (522 - 1620 kHz)
What an awesome emergency radio. If I ever buy a C.Crane Radio, this may be the one for me. Shoutout to Jeff for bring you the radios.
Very hard to go wrong with this radio. Pricey, but well worth it.
