    Could be that the shoes are not centralised. Slacken the pivot post nut, yank (pardon the pun!) the brake on hard and re- tighten the nut whilst holding the brake on.

      Thanks for the suggestion but that is not the problem here. If it was, you would still have some stopping capability, whereas I have none. The brakes do absolutely nothing. They won't even hold the bike in place. That would not be the problem if the brakes just weren't totally centered. Thanks and keep watching, next week you will see the problem and solution video.

      Look forward to that. I am more familiar with BSA brakes which are pretty hopeless if not centred; only working on one shoe. The Triumph brakes may be different anyway and if you say they don’t work at all, your idea of grease contamination could be it.
