  • Maria is a legendary landscaper with over a decade experience in the field. I met her at an expo and our love for plant instantly connected us. In this episode we look at her new home that’s in construction, and what’s growing in her massive nursery space surrounding the house. We will revisit the house once its complete to show you its unique Indonesia architecture and how it interacts with plants, but this visit will show you what it looks like before everything is set in place. We go through many species of plants (that are not typical house plants). Hope ya’ll can find new species to get to know and fall in love with!

I’m envious of her luscious garden. She can plant to her heart’s content . That’s what’s so great about the tropical regions, everything grows practically on it’s own (:

It's nice to see any other plants besides aroids and the gangs 😁. Plumeria (and its flowers Frangipani) is one of my favourite tree, the yellow flower one smells so good that it is often used in hotel's bathroom, esp. in Bali. Thank you for the variation of content.

I love Rainbow Eucalyptus trees! Before moving from Australia I always thought that Eucalyptus trees only grew there. It turns out that the prettiest one of all only grows in certain parts of Asia. Thank you Sean and Ibu Maria for such a great tour!

That's what I was saying about the latifolius you saw on your Bali trip. I got tired of propagating them because they grow so fast and so wild. Haha

I live in a neighborhood that is 60 yrs old so the trees are huge, the city side also planted rows of trees down the neighborhood so there is a canopy along the street. The new houses built in the last 10 years have no trees and barely any grass too as they want to maximize the lot space. I can only imagine what your property smells like in the morning, trees and plants make a difference.

Interesting about bougainvillea i heard that they need fertilizer because they are heavy feeder when blooming to maintain the lush of the flowers. That’s what i do, maybe it depends on the area. I’m here in California.

Asians are very very compliant. Its also a sign of respect and mindfulness. Japanese people do it even before covid.
