    In loving memory of our beautiful hall room that we had to bid a premature goodbye to because of COVID-19 😢
    We reused a lot of the decor we had in our previous Hall 5 room and went for an even more minimalist and monochrome theme this time!
    Feel free to drop a comment/DM us if you have any questions :)

    I stayed in Hall 1 and Hall 11 while I was in NTU in Year 1 and Year 2 respectively. For the incoming students, know that not all halls are created equal. 🤣 Hall 4 is one of the best halls out there in terms of space, proximity to facility hubs (South Spine) and relatively new renovations.

    Hi there, thank you for the dorm tours! I'm starting school in NTU this August as an English major & would love to know if you guys have any uni survival tips for freshmen. Also, a hall life essentials video would be so helpful! ☺️

      aww thanks! the bits of decor we added really did help to make the room feel more cosy :)

    Wow! You guys aced it in making the room so cozy. I just want to ask do you get to choose your hall when you apply and where is the best place to buy stuff that you use in your room? I'll be coming in from outside of Singapore so I won't have a lot of supplies with me.

    • @jingdel
      @jingdel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey! Thank you :) If it's your first time applying, you won't get to choose which hall you stay in. (We were allowed to rank our top 3 choices since it was our second year of living in hall). We got most of our stuff from IKEA and Daiso, and Hooga has pretty affordable and aesthetic decor items!

    So pretty!! May I ask if we are allowed to paste stuff on the walls or cook in the room? Also, is hangers provided ?

    • @jingdel
      @jingdel  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! :) For sticking stuff up on the walls, just be sure to use removable adhesive tape (like 3M command strips or washi tape) so that you don’t damage the walls. As for cooking, we have friends who’ve bought those mini multi-functional electric cookers to use in their rooms. And no, hangers aren’t provided!

    Thank you so much for the informational video! in your opinion what are the most aesthetic halls? and also does it get very hot without aircon? 😅

    • @jingdel
      @jingdel  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you!! We’ve only lived in Hall 4 and 5 and visited our friends living in the North Hill and Nanyang Crescent halls, and they all have their own aesthetics. How you choose to decorate your room is what really changes the vibe of the space! And yes, it can get really hot because of SG’s humid climate 😥

      It's so hard to decide because they're both so nice! Our hall 5 room layout was great for having friends over and hall 4's room layout made it easy for us to have late night chats without needing to yell across the room LOL

    hello!! can i ask how is the lit course in NTU? in my final year of JC and NTU Lit has been something I have been aiming for!

    • @jingdel
      @jingdel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey!! We both studied Mass Communication in polytechnic so we don't really know how to compare Lit at the JC and uni level, but one thing for sure is that the interest areas and texts you'll get to study are very diverse :) the profs are also very approachable, nurturing and really cool, so even when schoolwork gets tough the overall learning experience is worthwhile! You could take a look at the course overview to get an idea of what you'll study if you enroll in NTU: www.soh.ntu.edu.sg/Programmes/english/undergraduate/Pages/AY2019-Intake-Onwards.aspx . Hope this helps!

    im planning to apply for hall once the applications are up!! first timer here..wanna know how high are my chances of getting a hall of my choice if im a first year?

    • @yuntingang4302
      @yuntingang4302 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      also which halls do you personally recommend? (that arent too visually displeasing haha)

    • @jingdel
      @jingdel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello! We’ve asked around and most of our friends who applied for hall did get their choice of room type. You won’t get to choose a specific hall during your first year, but you will get to list your top three choices when reapplying for hall in your second year. Hall 4 and 5 are both pretty aesthetic and we like that the walls are thicker and generally more soundproof compared to the newer halls (those at Nanyang Crescent and North Hill)! Other than that we haven’t seen the interior of the other halls 😅

    Are you allowed to pick dorm/roommates? And which halls have double rooms?? Thankuuu

    • @jingdel

      Yes, you can choose your room mate but you'll have to indicate each other's names in both your application forms! You can browse the various halls and room types here: www.ntu.edu.sg/has/Undergraduate/HallsofResidence/Pages/Halls.aspx

    is it possible to not use that uncomfortable chair and maybe bring your own chair from home?

    • @jingdel
      @jingdel  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is possible, but you’ll have to find a space to store the chair within your room since you’re not allowed to remove it. You could get a seat cushion so that it’ll be a little more comfortable to sit on that chair!
