I have followed your channel for several months now. The fact that you are pretty, well spoken, and exude knowledge have nothing to do with why I watch your videos. I watch because you have a great personality, your are well spoken, YOU ARE IN YOUR ELEMENT and I learn from you with every video you produce. Your videos are FUN and make me want to tackle more and more in my old age. Thanks and Merry Christmas from the Texas Gulf Coast.
I posted this on Triton's site for you April.........Awesome interview! I am a follower of April as well as several others. April has her own approach to her woodworking as each of us has our own personality.. She has brought a lot to the table of the woodworking community! No doubt she has come a long way from her beginning to where she is now and continues to grow and her confidence level proves it. She tackles every project like a pro... Thanks to Triton for sponsoring April enabling her with professional tools to perform her projects.
I truly commend you. Not many people can wake up every day and do a job they love. They are stuck in a job that they are comfortable with and not willing to take a risk for something that would make them happier. You are an inspiration and I am excited to watch your new career develop.
Following these directions now. They are so easy to follow! I love the color coding and ease of understanding the pictures and descriptions of the steps. Thank you so much for this. Your entire website of diy projects is wonderful.
I think I'll make this for my Dad and his wife.. he is a carpenter and is the "man that has everything" and they are both "winos" ;) perfect gift.. I just need to make sure it's perfect like his work.. ;)
Nice wine rack. You need to get that dust collector up and running, the planner made a huge mess. Thanks for all the great videos and Merry Christmas. I don't know what I would do without all you TH-camrs, I rarely even watch tv anymore. Take care
Hi I'm from Mexico and I like carpentry work, I also do carpunteria in my country, and I am also an architect, I send you greetings and keep watching your videos
Great wine rack....And an awesome interview video. I think you hit the nail on the head when you said this is a woodworking community, not a competition. Watching all of your videos and referring to each other, like to show a different way of doing whatever you are doing, watch this person's video. Or Yeah, I learned this technique from watching that person's channel. That also tends to help that person out with their channels because now your audience is checking out their channels. I love watching your videos as well as other woodworkers' channels. Keep the great videos and projects coming!
I actually made something similar to this back in high school shop class to store my cd collection. Still have it today and it's still in use. Great video!!!
Hi April, great Christmas gift idea, who doesn't love wine, fits in with serving tray or fruit basket... Great job with tritontools interview you killed it... Merry Christmas to you and yours...
Just watched your Triton Interview and loved it. You are right April. It does not really matter how many subscribers you have, when you're good you're good. I also find that channels / people with more subscribers are less interactive with their viewers. I can't afford to support anybody's channel. So just as a subscriber and faithful viewer, I really appreciate when you respond to my comments. Keep doing what you're doing. Love and God Bless 🤗😘💖🙏
I like the Interview, it was honest and sincere. Thank you. A very smart man once said follow your efforts, not your dreams. Its great if they coincide but you will be happier when you are doing what you want to do. Keep up the great work.
nice video April! you are an inspiration for other women or girls to get involved in being a maker - woodworker! I sell many things on the local exchanges where I live and when women come to pick them up and tell me their husbands aren't very crafty, I tell them why don't you do it when they laugh I tell them to go watch your videos!
eres la mejor carpintera del mundo pasó horas viendo tus vídeos,me encanta tu sonrisa y forma de trabajar enhorabuena sigue subiendo vídeo muchas gracias un saludo
Looking for cool projects from a variety of creators to feature in a playlist on our channel, and this definitely caught my eye. This is so simple, yet it's a wonderful piece for someone who enjoys wine!
: ) Thanks. Yeah and if you used 1x boards already wide enough, you could make a handful of these in just an hour. Cut the boards to length, cut the slits, then stain and away you go. Y'all have a Merry Christmas!
Hello April, Merry Christmas to you and yours. The joint that you used for the wine rack is called a halved joint just for future knowledge. They work well for apothecary drawer casework as well, rock solid 90° pockets. 1 safety issue, you never use the fence with the miter gauge like that, too much chance of kickback. Use a stop block attached to the fence that ends before the material contacts the blade for repetitive cuts.
Thanks for telling me the joint name. When I used the fence I used a block so that the piece wasn't wedged between the fence and blade, so no worries. : ) Completely safe.
April, i have just watched your interview with Triton tools . great interview by the way. and i'm sure all your subscribers like me are glad that your happy in what you are doing . keep up with the great vids that you do and have a good christmas.
nice one april your a great woodworker and great entertainer i think you will be a tv star one day and i hope it happens merry christmas to you and your husband
Nice little project April! You're interview remark was right about the competition thing. Remember, at the end of the game, the King and the Pawn both go into the same box! ;) Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Thanks!
Good gift project. Lots of dust coming off that planer. Hope to see some video on your dust collector project. No excuses now that you have the place built put it.
Yeah, but those chips are so large it is just making a mess, which I didn't mind picking up. The weather and now the Holidays are keeping me from finishing the install on my DC but I'll get back to it soon.
Nice easy project for some quick Christmas gifts. Just wanted to mention that the cuts on the table saw were a dangerous way to make the cuts. the cut boards can easily be wedged between the blade and the fence. I suggest clamping a board to the end of the fence then when you push the miter gauge past it there will be space between the fence and the work. less chance of having the cut off shoot back at you.
Thanks for looking out, but the piece wasn't wedged. If you look at my fence I have a 3/4" piece clamped on to it where I started off the cut. When I move the piece of wood forward it leaves this piece and now has 3/4" between the blade and the table saw.
Great interview on the Triton web site. You are a true craft women and have a genuine way of presenting the build. Love the videos. Keep up the great job and have a Merry Christmas.
Just viewed your interview with Triton: Great interview and wonderful, "familiar" do what you love, woodworking/making personal story. I am now a subscriber.
Wine? Ummmm.... not so much. A really good whiskey? Mmmmmm.... ;) A nice, quick little project that would make a good present for someone that enjoys a glass of wine. I watched the Triton interview. I thought it went very, very well and I enjoyed it. Thanks for everything, April.
+April Wilkerson Awesome!! I will definitely get some in January. I'm already way over budget in my spending for this month (a Christmas Holiday shopping dilemma).
Loved the counter wine rack. Would be great in an apartment. Also, if you don't want shavings all over your floor from the planer, you could rig up a dust collection using a normal garbage can w/ lid, dryer tubing, and duck tape :-) That's what I did for my planer. Merry Christmas! Tfs.
I know this video is super old and you probably won't see this but have you thought of adding like a magnet to the triangle bottom to hold a corkscrew? That way its always near where you get your wine from and that tiny space isn't wasted and the corkscrew doesn't take up space in a draw.
Nicely done April and Happy Holidays. I am however one of those exceptions to the rule about wine. I don't drink alcohol and my wife prefers beer and bourbon.
really kool wine rack, I'm planning on making one for myself. thanks April for the ideas, hope u have a great Christmas. Happy Holidays from Puerto Rico.

Great quick build April. Really straight forward and totally do-able in a short period of time.
: ) Thanks. Yeah and if you used 1x boards already wide enough, you could make a handful of these in just an hour. Cut the boards to length, cut the slits, then stain and away you go. Y'all have a Merry Christmas!
