Moses, I know you'll never read this but I just want to tell you how much of an inspiration you've been for me. I started watching your videos around 5 years ago now. At age 16, I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life, but I've always been interested in languages (was studying French for 8 years previously) - when I stumbled across your channel I was inspired, and thought it was so amazing how well you'd mastered Chinese/a bunch of other languages. Now I'm in my final year studying Chinese at university, with one of those years having been in Shanghai. I'm planning to return to China to do a master's course next year, and I want to thank you for being such a huge influence in the path I've taken. Keep up the good work !

Idk why but I’m obsessed with his videos talking in Chinese, Cantonese, Japanese, and Korean. They are the best in my opinion!
Same. I think it's because he's so much stronger in those languages so there's more opportunities to have interesting conversations. Plus the native speakers' reactions are better because it isn't just a surface level conversation.

The guy in the store raised a good point. You guys would make some awesome videos traveling through and vlogging in Asia.
He prioritizes variety of language, also if you're in Asia it might be less surprising for him to speak Asian languages.
North Ayase - I meant more like him traveling there and interacting with the many differing cultures in Asia and visiting the different regions of the countries and the added bonus of him putting his language acumen to the test with the locals in remote areas who may have never seen a black person in real life up close and personal. 😀
North Ayase not really, Chinese was one of his first languages learned, his nickname is Laoshu on social media, and Bruce Lee is his idol. Plus his wife is Taiwanese, im sure eventually he’ll travel to Asia

He has traveled to Asia before, I just don't expect him to do a large travel series there for an extended period of time because he likes to use all of his languages. He might do it, but I don't think that is really what he wants to focus on.

Moses totally caught the Taiwanese show that was playing! I'm way surprised at how good he can identify languages, as well as accents and dialects! Meteor Garden 2018 was one of the shows that got me interested in learning Mandarin. But I didn't find out that it was a Taiwanese show until way after!
Meteor Garden (2018) is a Chinese show. The original Meteor Garden (2001) was Taiwanese. You can usually tell the difference because a Chinese show is generally dubbed over so the voices are the same dialect and coherent. Whereas Taiwanese dramas don’t get dubbed over. :)
I am learning standard Mandarin but I actually like the Taiwanese accent better.

That doesn't stop thousands of people from visiting the country. I have 3 friends that went there to visit and not once did they say that they felt endangered. I’m pretty sure the show she was watching was “Meteor Garden” based off of the music. There is a Chinese and a Taiwanese version, so I’m not sure which one though.
