The power of the image is intimidating. Pictures of the waterfall resemble gas nebulae in pictures of deep space. Congratulations on a big round of applause.
The shot at 11:50 and the following.. duuuude!!! those are absolutely incredible!!
The shadowy "watcher" at 11:56 gives the image an eerie feeling. Nice shot, Michael.

Wonderful video! My wife saw a silhouette of a child in the upper left and I saw a half-closed eye of a creature in the mid-left. Lots of fun to stop the video and take a close look at the images.
I stumbled upon these rainbow shots on Instagram a few days ago and was instantly blown away, and through the magical powers of the internet, TH-cam just suggested this video. Is this a 'big brother is watching' situation? Perhaps... but I don't care; I am glad I found your stuff. Phenomenal work.

I found the close up images quite eery, but fascinating at the same time. Looking at the image at 11:58 I thought I saw an eye with a tear drop in the top left quadrant. You proved that no matter the conditions, creativity trumps all. Nice work.

The waterfall images with with those rainbow colors almost look like pictures of galaxies. Beautiful!

12:26 Yes! That's pretty much what I saw at first viewing. To the left, there seems to be some dark figure of a woman in a wispy white dress & then to the right is the mythical monster/beast, just its head & I guess hand reaching out towards the figure.
Unless there's a rainbow created by the waterfall spray (as shown earlier), I rarely do telephoto shots on a waterfall...this vlog has convinced me that I need to start! 🤯🤙🏾

The flame rainbow with birds flying in front of it was something else. The wide shots were good but the close up shots were on another level.

The dark, moody picture gave me a sense of creation. The formed water spay on the right seemed to be created by the chaotic fog and mist on the left side. It is a beautiful image.

The rainbow patterns on the falling water were magical, and are yet another example of the variety of great images you create with the 100-400 mm lens. Your work never ceases to amaze and inspire. With every video I think it must be impossible to top, and then you top it with the next video! The consistently high quality of your stills, your video, time lapses, and drone images is just unparalleled. Amazing, amazing work!
My favorite shot was the same as yours. The close-up of the falls at 12:00. I didn't see a monster in it though, but I've got old eyes.

I agree, Michael - the stormy close-ups are far more impactful than the pretty sunset image. Your favourite is mine, too. It reminds me of a gas cloud or nebula in space. Amazing place, captured beautifully. 🦘😄🇦🇺
The moment your favourite image popped on screen I instantly was reminded of the illustrations of Alan Lee and his artwork for The Lord of the Rings books ... an amazing photograph.

@@MichaelShainblum I noticed you were shooting the sigma. Unfortunately I shoot canon. Although they have a really (relatively) cheap native 100-400 with great reviews. Sony is becoming more attractive though, purely for their choice of third party lenses!
Anyway, thanks for such inspiring content. I'm deep into the TH-cam photography community and you are at the top for me. Even if you make me want a 100-400 and a drone haha. Keep doing what you're doing, as long as you're enjoying it as much as we do
Rainbow flames at 5:42 creating a man's face side on looking down, the rocks creating his hair or a hoodie, easily interpreted as a portrait, photography becomes art in these telephoto shots, stunning work Michael, other worldly!

It's said that every photo needs a subject. But when the whole scene is the subject, as in your chaotic waterfall photo, the confusion makes you start to ponder/think/imagine. You know what you're basically looking at, but you start to imagine what it's like to be there. Sometimes, if done right (as yours definitely does), it generates a more powerful feeling in the viewer, as no 2 people will walk away feeling the exact same thing.
That's my take on it anyway.

The pics at 11:51 and then at 11:59 are absolutely stunning, love how you managed to capture the movement of the water into those incredible textures. And they really gives the impression of being inside a storm: I can almost feel the humidity on my skin by just looking at them.

Do love the last shots on that crappy day - yes, big fan of the close-up of the dark and mythic falls. But I have to hand it to you for all the aerial shots w/ the drone, again - AHHHH ICELAND!!!!

I absolutely love the tight images of the waterfalls.
Great video and amazing images! Iceland is really a photographer's playground. I agree that the zoomed in images of the falling water patterns are much more compelling. The patterns and detail are eye candy. The added colors of the rainbow are great but, even the monochromatic shots work well.

Wow! There’s a lot more available in Iceland than most channels take the viewer to. Agree, I like the dark and stormy shot much better than the traditional landscape shot.

The photo during the bad weather shoot, the closeup that is basically b&w, is indeed mythical. The first thing I thought of was Dante’s Inferno. I know this place well, Háafoss, and have some great shots myself of this valley, like yours, and like many many others who have shot this incredible vista. But by looking close and taking advantage of “bad weather “ you taught me a valuable lesson. And also came up with the most dramatic shot I’ve ever seen from this location. Well done. Perhaps there is no such thing in landscape photography as bad weather!
I love all the close up shots and the waterfall with the bird and rainbow is beautiful! My favorite though is the one you picked. I see a woman in the upper left corner and a mythical bird or beast that looks like it’s reaching out to her or giving her something. Your imagination could run wild. Amazing images though, all of them.
Bad conditions don’t exist in landscape photography , there’s always a shot and you sir have proven this once again !!
