Thanks to Eddie Trunk for mentioning this band briefly on his show on Hair Nation tonight 3/14/22 - I had forgotten all about it! I haven't heard this song in 30 years!!! Still gives me that same shot of adrenaline it did back in '91!! YEAAAH!!! 🤘😬🤘
Yes. This is from their debut album "Tall Stories" that came out in 1991. At this point and time there were a lot of bands that still had that "80s" sound, but due to the Grunge movement, these groups didn't get a lot of exposure. It's a shame, there was a lot of great music made by great bands that just came along at the wrong time.
I know I’m SUPER late to the party, but I just wanted to say that completely agree. There was a TON of late 80’s early 90’s that buried because of grunge. Extreme, Mr. Big, Danger Danger, Tall Stories, Giant, The Storm... just to name a few.
I remember reading an interview with Schon; he said that he was driving down the highway, heard this and had to pull over because - for several minutes - he couldn't remember recording this song with Journey.
What? I know quite a bit about journey, more than the average joe. We stopped buying shortly after Perry got in the band but before Greg left. I think Neal was joking.
Just finished reading Jonathan Cain's biography "Don't Stop Believin' ". Good book and this band and Steve's (Augeri) time in Journey are examined very well. Cheers!
WOW, I already loved Augeri because of his amazing vocals on the Journey albums, but I had NO IDEA he was the voice behind this song! I loved this tune since the first time I had heard it back in '91, but I paid no attention to who sang this. He amazes me yet again! Does Augeri ever sing a bad song? I don't think so.
Steve Augeri’s time in Journey was fantastic. The song on Armageddon is amazing and their full length album that followed was great. But the one member that comes closest to sounding like Steve Perry is Dean. That’s a fact! That guy can sing!!!
I’m a huge Deen fan, and I agree. But the Augeri era was my favorite Journey era, which causes fights but I don’t care. The harmonies with Deen were unmatched-they were perfect together.
He is in a cover band in Norwalk CT.. Tangled Vine..I used to to be a guitar teque for the Drummers band years ago.. They were called Witness...at that time he was making his move in TS...Gimme those days anytime.. I miss all of that raw tone and melodic composition...
Lyrics : Busted Bleeding Nothing to believe in I've taken just as much as I'm gonna take Stood up Knocked down Had enough of this town When midnight comes we'll make this prison shake Don't you make a sound 'til the lights go down Wild on the run Wild on the run Look out Don't slow down Run before we're found out This ain't no fairy tale, no perfect life We got one chance Don't stop Jump across the rooftops We'll close our eyes and dance away this life Don't you make a sound 'til the lights go down Wild on the run Wild on the run Anyplace you want to go Only one way that we know Rip a hole into this lonely night Rip a hole into the night Come on Don't you make a sound 'til the lights go down Wild on the run Wild on the run Busted Bleeding Stood up Knocked down I can't take it no more I've been busted Bleeding Stood up Knocked down, baby Can't take it no more

Neal Schon "Thinks he is Journey" because Journey was intended to be formed around him. Also, it's hard to say a certain sound/period is Journey's "authentic" sound, because you will get different answers.
Hey steve augeri great stuff met you in Florida in 2001 2002 and 2003 ran into you Great musican think He got screwed a bit in Journey waiting for his solo album.
Remember Debbie Davis and Witness well. Eddie Boyd was the drummer from the first self-titled Witness record, correct? Managed by Charlie Brusco, who's still going with Styx and The Outlaws, among others.
Killer vocalist, he was working as a manager for the GAP when he got the call from Journey. The 90's is when Augeri's voice was the best. Unfortunately, it didn't last a decade in Journey. Arnel is suffering after 13 years. They need to get a 30-year-old singer if they want to continue.
If you like this guy, you should check out myles kennedy with slash and his creed takeover band alter bridge. He is by far the best new singer this decade. songs to listen to anastasia, your a lie, starlight. now go on, get started.
first time Im hearing this ...good tune ..
This was the song that got Steve Augeri into Journey!
He sings with so much more soul than Arnel Pineda.

With that turn to Grunge, decent vocal range, harmonies and musicianship went out the door. It all became pretty dour and life sucks lyrics.

Love this song! Steve Augeri is a great singer!
I listened to this song and this cd so many times.
Got the album on vinyl.Had 2 copies but gave one to Steve Augeri when he came to the UK with Tall Stories a few years ago
Not so wild anymore but this song is memories.
"Busted, bleedin', stood up, knocked down.. I can't TAKE IT NO MORE!" :-D
I bought this on cassette when it came out and replaced it with a cd years later! It's still good!!
1991. The single greatest year of my life.
Mine too...I got off a plane in Southern California with 2 suitcases and $300 in my pocket and never looked back!
I remember reading an interview with Schon; he said that he was driving down the highway, heard this and had to pull over because - for several minutes - he couldn't remember recording this song with Journey.
This wasnt a Journey song
Sean Morrison That was Dave Everhart’s point. Neal thought that it WAS a Journey song but for the life of him he couldn’t remember recording it.
No they did not make this.
@@hockeyhelps3910Point missed.
What?

First time I heard this was on the radio during Art class, jr. year, lol.

Went to # 22 (Billboard Mainstream Rock Charts) in January of 1992. Sadly, that was their only charted song.
Lyrics :
Busted
Bleeding
Nothing to believe in
I've taken just as much as I'm gonna take
Stood up
Knocked down
Had enough of this town
When midnight comes we'll make this prison shake
Don't you make a sound
'til the lights go down
Wild on the run
Wild on the run
Look out
Don't slow down
Run before we're found out
This ain't no fairy tale, no perfect life
We got one chance
Don't stop
Jump across the rooftops
We'll close our eyes and dance away this life
Don't you make a sound
'til the lights go down
Wild on the run
Wild on the run
Anyplace you want to go
Only one way that we know
Rip a hole into this lonely night
Rip a hole into the night
Come on
Don't you make a sound
'til the lights go down
Wild on the run
Wild on the run
Busted
Bleeding
Stood up
Knocked down
I can't take it no more
I've been busted
Bleeding
Stood up
Knocked down, baby
Can't take it no more
I still have the CD..
OOOOOOO this is GOOOOD!!! No wonder they (Journey) picked him!!!!! ;-D Hope he comes out with more new music!!!!
Augeri..great vocalist ..!
If he didn’t have throat infection issues he would still be in Journey..
What a great album! Close Your Eyes is the best!

awesome tune.

I figured I was the only person who thought this? Augeri was the best Journey front man ever.....including Perry. He has got mad skills.
Hey steve augeri great stuff met you in Florida in 2001 2002 and 2003 ran into you Great musican think He got screwed a bit in Journey waiting for his solo album.
This was my divorce song and a great one it was

I have no idea how I heard of this song.
