    Nice Video! I have a 9.3X62 rifle (Blaser R8), a 9.3X64 (Blaser R93) and multiple 9.3X74R double rifles. The 9.3X62 is the most efficient caliber ever. You can use N540 or N135 powders to drive a 250 grain Lapua Naturalis bullet to 2400 f/s (more is possible, but this is the accuracy node for a 24-inch barrel). It hits and knocks over a 300-yard steel gong target, something that I have never seen happening with a 300 magnum :)

I shot many wild bores in the Alps around 250 meters with it as loong as you know your dopes between 100 and 300. Even Zeiss has put on the market a BDC turret for the 9.3x62 ASV LR it says enough. Alternatively kenton industry can produce some nice BDC turrets.

      My range at home is 800yds.
      300yds is barely beyond shotgun slug range.

      @@georgviktoroff1571 With practically any caliber you will need to know the exact distance if you shoot at beyond 200 yards. With RWS Evo Green ranged at 100 yards with a 1,5" overshoot it will drop 12" at 300 yards in a 9,3x62. Not a problem if you know the exact distance - and you are a sufficiently good marksman. For me it only becomes real hunting when I'm much closer though - preferably less than 100 yards. Here the 9,3x62 is simply perfect and suits well to the heavily wooded terrain I have access to (Wild Boar and Red, Fallow and Roe Deer)

    I previously had an FN Mauser in 30-06 caliber converted to 9.2x62 by a Nuremberg gunsmith. A picture of a hunting rifle from after 1900 was used as a model. It was a very precise weapon. Good for Africa and the north for moose hunting

    I am one of a few American hunters that adores the 9.3x62 here in the states. Got a few of them. Looking to build a 9.3x66, a 9.3x64 Brenneke and a 9.3 Sisk (8mm Rem Mag necked up) just for shits and giggles

      @justintempus7406 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If I didn't have a 1:12 twist Whelen I'd go 9.3x62. I just can't pass on the convenience of necking up Winchester 270 Win brass.

      @infantilepillock1687 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good for you. 9.3 Sisk sounds interesting. Completely useless, but interesting! :-) Herman Göring had a 9.3x70 DWM build on a Mauser 98 Magnum action. That cartridge was based on the .404 Jeffery, with the shoulder blown out, just like many modern magnum cartridges.

      Using a large caliber with a heavy bullet will simply not have the ability to expand leading to less damaged meat.

    The average muzzle velocity of the 9,3x62 is about 700 meters/second - (for Americans 2300 feet/second). My question: will a copper Barnes bullet in 9,3 or .366 caliber expand at these moderate velocities? As hunters In Europe and North-America we are more and more required by law to use non-lead projectiles. Thank you for yor remarks.
