Unless you are a registered dietitian or doctor, nutrition coaches are not allowed to legally prescribe diet or supplements to treat medical or clinical conditions or their symptoms such as IBS
This is what i dont get, it why there is a nutrition program if we can not tell the customer what to eat if they have a chronic diseases, doctor give them medication that they make the client feels worse. So. NUtrition is more basic to help people who are obesity? This is stupit.
@@mejhon6592 You can recommend the client talk to an RD about specific things, and if the RD recommends them they will guide the client in how to incorporate the diet changes.
You cannot call yourself a nutritionist unless you have been board certified. These certificates allow you to call yourself a nutrition coach or advisor only.
Really useful thanks! I am not a personal trainer, but have a doctorate in biomedical sciences. Nutrition and biochemistry are my big interests. I always share what I know scientifically to help friends and family improve their eating habits and lifestyle and everyone encourages me to become a nutrition councellor/ coach. I would be grateful if I have your precious recommendation about it and if you know any program that I fit well in them. I am based in New Zealand by the way, not in the US. Cheers🙂
i have a question , As some one who lives in a red Zone(Ohio) can i sell nutrition plans online or is it illegal even the online ones ? I m going to take my ACE personal trainer exam in a couple months but whats the point if im going to do a half job and not provide my clients with nutrition plans . Is there any extra certification that allows me to sell nutrition plans within ACE or even something outside of ace ? thx a lot for the content you provide us with
afaik, in the US, it depends on who is buying them for what purpose. as long as it is general nutrition plans for someone with general needs, it is fine. If you are selling a specialized nutrition plan to address a medical condition, that's not ok unless you are registered dietician.
Sorry Jenn, just a curious question. Are these mentioned courses internationally recognised and available online? I'm actually trying to find the best program to join.
