Hi, I am not sure if I am getting the converting process correctly but I am trying to convert my recipe book but because I have all these tables and other things. After uploading the words are all jumbled up. and nothing seems to be in order
I am starting to plan how I will be independently publishing my first book of peotry and writings. The book has a lot of unconventional formatting eg tabbing, centred text blocks. I've set it all up with page breaks, separate chapter pages, page numbering and a table of contents. Will your conversion to an ebook hold all of this formatting? Should I remove the page numbers and TOC first?
When I upload my book my table of content page is on the acknowledgment page even though I have it on another page. and my titles show up in lowercase and uppercase and missing words. What do I need to do to make sure my pages show up on the pages that they need to show up on. And my words don’t disappear. #help
It becomes a problem to add images in word, when I upload the file to D2D, regardless of the format in which I upload it, the images are displaced, however the same file is published in kdp and it looks perfect, someone could explain to me what is the solution?

And do you automatically do page breaks between Chapters? Also, do you need to be informed if I'm going to another service, like Lulu, to make a print edition? And why wouldn't a print edition require an ISBN? Should I buy one for the print edition? If I don't, am I risking anything??
Great questions, Steve! We do automatically number pages for you, and we can insert page breaks between chapters automatically if your chapters are clearly defined (we recommend using the Heading feature of your word processor, but we can also detect larger and/or bolded fonts). There's no exclusivity for print books, so you could have your book with Lulu and us at the same time, if you wish. Ebooks are slightly different-we don't require any exclusivity, but a lot of our retailers have rules against distributing to them from multiple places. So it's best to either use us to reach the retailer, or go to them directly. Print edition do require ISBNs, and you can either purchase one to bring with you or we can issue a free one for your book. There's no risk for getting the free ISBN. Some people prefer buying them, for a variety of reasons, but there's no harm either way. If you have any more questions, feel free to email our team at support@draft2digital.com! I know this is an old video but have these templates got any better? I hate how most of them just replace elements to overlay a book 'theme'. That's not what we need as writers. I want a basic theme but something that puts an author name on the top page of the left side and the name of the book at the top of the right. Would also be nice to select the different scene break graphics for any of the 'themes'. And why don't the themes automatically indent paragraphs? You guys want to make money? You need to provide options.

Our conversion process doesn't take into account the margins of a word document, as margins are set by the device the ebook is read on, and our PDFs have a standard margin size as well. We recommend reaching out to support for questions regarding preparing your Word Doc to best take advantage of our conversion.
I have a question about uploading your own epub. I formatted mine in Reedsy's editor and it includes everything from the title page and the copyright page to the about the author page. How much will D2D modify it from its original state? I want to use the Also By function, so where in the back of the book would it be inserted? Would D2D detect that there is already an About the Author page and insert it before that? Thanks
