Hi brian hope you and family fine. Thanks for the lovely video. My qn900d has gone samsung accepted return dse. I was planning to buy BRAVIA 9 85 inches. You no best 900d is so good I got used to watching that contrast and punch. Will bravia 9 suit me and be on par with 900d as watch lots of sports in 1080p in my dish and movies in 4k and quite a bright room. Is bravia 7 or qd oled suitable for me or 9 is best suited.? Since you have seen bravia 9 85 inches closely. Please guide me. Thanks
Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity, Shawn. I'm sorry you had to return the 900D. I think you'll be very happy with the Bravia 9. The Bravia 9 had excellent picture quality and processing. The Bravia 9 will feel brighter and the upscaling of the XR processor can match the 900D.
Thanks so much for the advisory about the B9 crushing blacks a bit, as I really hate losing my dark grays as in dark men's suits or dimly lit scenes. Plus, this is almost $2 grand less price in the 85" size!
We bought this TV for my friend. The menus are slow and gray. As my friend Brian said to me I'm an OLED girl now and I agree. He also told me that there's no black level controls when you're in the menus which I find pretty bad. Once watching a movie the tv was pretty good for a mini led. Was very bright too. TV channels looked OK on a 65 inch nothing spectacular. I will go with the Bravia 8 if someone wants Sony. Great video Brian.

Awesome video as always Brian! I think this is the year I’m retiring the 900f - it’s Bravia 7 or 8. This video is a huge help. Any chance for a comparison vs the 8? You are the best, thank you!
Bravia 7 should be quite a bit better then the X90L, especially because it has around 6 times the dimming zones and therefore lesser blooming. It is also brighter and has better contrast Anyway, if you love your X90L then keep it. It is stupid to upgrade after just one year, the differences are probably not worth it. It is different if you would buy a new TV and would have to chose between the X90L and the Bravia7
Looking to buy a 65in TV this Black Friday and can't make up my mind between the B7 and the A75L. Both are 2000$CAD at Costco right now. Not sure about the sound difference either. Any thoughts?
If you lower The BLACK Bars from 0 which is in the middle, to - 10 or more and up the GAMMA a Lot on the Bravia 7 you get rid of the Blooming all together... Brightness at 30 to 50 Local Dimming to your Liking And be in Professional Mode This works for SDR and HDR on all Inputs Save to all INPUTS and OUTPUTS
Hi Brian, quick question we recently purchased a 65” X90L. We love it when looking straight on, but the off angle local dimming is very distracting. It looks like the TV is flashing lights. Do you think the Bravia 7 is better in this regard?
The Bravia 7 is great but if its side by side next to an X90L of the same size, then u will see they are similar. Yes the bravia 8 has better contrast and blooming control but they seemed similar for the most part
I compared the x90l with the Bravia 7 side by side at the store watching my badminton competition on TH-cam and the Bravia 7 is a touch more bright, vibrant and contrasty so I went with the Bravia 7. 🙏
The qn90d needs to be professionally calibrated, it's bad out of the box. Once calibrated it will be great. I bought the qn90c because of that, don't need to spend extra for calibration.
Hey Brian i love this TV one question. I try setting my ps5 game mode to gradient preferred but it severely dims the picture. How is your brightness still intact?
Did you try Horizon on the PS5 Pro? Both titles are enhanced giving higher fidelity from the new hardware. Also what I would like to see on future Sony TV's are auto game picture mode that would be a game changer.
I’m so glad you brought this to our attention . I watch your videos alit just for the amazing footage from Jennifer , but now I’m watching because it’s time to buy one . I have to leave my big house . I have to put my big 85 inch tv and surround with almost all my possessions into storage to move into a 12 X 12 room at my aunts to help her in her advanced age and failing memory. I think I’m going to buy this tv in a 65 inch size. I think I’ll use my little But lovely Onkyo TX RZ50 with my rear channel bookshelf Focal Chora 806’s with large matching sealed center channel speaker & REL T9X subwoofer. I think this will pacify me for my time there . Again I want to thank you for giving us such brilliant content with so much practical information while entertaining us with Jennifer’s footage . ❤
Looking to buy a 65 inch tv the ones that are between $400-$500 which one do u recommend? We usually buy samsung products but is there something better?
A little help if you have a moment. I’m looking at a 77 inch S90D or a 77’ Bravia 8. The latter is the only Sony at the size I’m interested in at the price range I’m considering ($3,000). Most of the content I’m watching is a mix of 4K UHD and upscaled television shows via streaming services (Netflix, VUDU, Disney+). I game, only on console and specifically the PS5. Is the XR processing on the Bravia 8 really worth passing on the brighter, more vibrant color the S90D has to offer? (The TV is going into my master bedroom which is entirely light controlled. A 3rd gen Apple TV is the streaming box we use - if that matters at all).
The XR processor is excellent and definitely gives the edge over the S90D in terms of upscaling. But that's really it. The S90D is definitely better in every other facet and since you game on PS5 I'd go for the S90D
@ Wow, that was quick. Michael Scott joke aside, thanks for that. You earned my sub which means - my time. That means something, I think, so and again, thanks. I hope that doesn’t come off nearly as douchey as it’s starting to look to me now. I quit.
@mythicalgamer7373 they are both excellent! The Bravia 9 is at least 10 to 15% better. Better local dimming with better HDR impact. If that's worth it to you, then I'd grab it.
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY Merci Brian's vous avez déjà répondu et convaincu sur mon choix je suis Français et je trouve que vos comparaisons et analyse sont les plus pertinentes 👍
I'm enjoying my U8N. It keeps costing me more than I cared to spend. I had to buy a Hdmi extractor and had to buy Universal legs. The 55" legs are very long so I hate them.
Brian, how's the on-board audio on the 75" B7? If you want to steer me away from the B9 I've been saving up for all year, I gotta know. I'm not a soundbar guy.
Hi Brian engineering background here the reason why I picked the Bravia seven is because it seems to hit the sweet spot between price and quality. Sure you can get the Bravia 9; and you’ll get three times better blooming. Other than that it is the same tv but going same size, the Beavia 9 costs $1200 more . I got a nice Bose sound bar and an amplifier along with the LED floating wall mount +360 rotating swivel wall mount and all that came to about $1000 on Black Friday . I would ratherhave that plus a Bravia seven versus a Bravia and nothing
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY I forgot to mention that I bought a $1200 white theater style leather reclining couch on sale that Friday for $600 so all of the accessories that I bought equalled $1600. The Bravia 9 is $1200 more. I paid 400 got a floating wall mount with LED lights, a swivel mount 360 rotating so I can watch football on TV and cook for the wife and kids plus a white reclining leather sofa. I would rather have all that than a Bravia 9. I went to a popular store in the 🇺🇸 Best Buy. I saw the 7 8 and 9 side by side- there is not $1200 worth of upgrades in my opinion to justify buying the 9. The 64” Beaver 9 on black friday is more than $2500- You can get a 75” Bravia 7
Bravia 7 versus U8N Rtings scores. I like how the U8N wins out on DSE and mixed use. If I get better more pop over accurate content I'm good with that. It's Samsung was really known for why too much color saturation but with Hisense it's off just a little.
So, I'm down to the 98" TCL QM751 or the B7 in the 85", which are now not too far apart in price. The 98" QM7 I saw at BB looks pretty darn good. But your images of the B7 at 75" are stunning. Is the 85" B7 equal to or better than the 75" B7 in image quality? I am aware that manufacturers may use different panel types in their different screen sizes.
The Bravia 7 is amazing at 85" . It's definitely the same panel. But 98" is definitely hard to beat and the QM7 is excellent. If you need that massive size then grab the TCL.
So I’m curious. I remember earlier before they released I thought maybe this would compare to the X95L. Does it, or is just an updated X93L? A lot of people had great things to say about the X95L.
Correct, the Bravia 7 is similar in performance to the X95L (minus the anti-reflective coating and wide viewing angles) but brighter, with the same dimmable backlight technology as the Bravia 9 and an updated processor that’s two years newer than the one found in the X93L (which is the X95K).
Brian you always make me think twice. I appreciate you emphasizing the viewing angles as it was a question. Sony said that this was a continuation of the X95L. Not buying that Sony. Perhaps a better panel would be more convincing. Maybe I’m wrong but the X95L was a monster just missing size options. I’m not sure I’d put above the X93L. Great video Brian.
I'd say the B7 is closer to the X93L in all Specs for the 65inch and 55 inch I'd say the 75 and 85inch is closer to the x95l Only cos I had the x93l and x95l I now have the B7 and B9 and with there Firmware update they function even better when first got And in all content I do think tho that the B7 and B9 in 75inch Function Very the same and Look So alike in all content
@Ocho817 I've got the B7 and B9 and struggle to see the differences between them at all,, I've tested so much content and input model that the 9 isn't worth the money
@Ocho817 depending on what input source you are using Local dimming on High makes Motion work Extremely well 👌 Gamma set to 0 Black Levels 0 Black Adjust high,,, the rest is to your liking
I wish this tv came in 43" size. I bought the Samsung QN90D, and in games and in cable tv people's skin tones in doors looked like they had sunburns. it bothered me a lot. I return it. Maybe it was a bad panel?
No, i've seen the same. It's just bad LD algorithm that turns faces orange mainly in dark scenes. You did good in returning the tv as that won't be fixable.
Hello Brian so now I’m torn in between the Bravia seven and the Bravia eight is it safe to say that mini LED is better than OLED because I’m hearing people say OLED has a lot of burning issues and I would love to keep my TV for a very long time which one do you recommend?
An LCD (whether the backlight is conventional LED or Mini LED) is normally going to be more resilient and have a longer lifespan than an OLED, so Bravia 7 is the obvious choice if you want to increase your chances of the TV lasting for the better part of a decade or longer. That said, any TV can fail in a number of different ways, so it's always good to get an extended warranty if possible.
@@NYPrincess718 Prenez le B8 si vous en prenez soins il n'aura pas de risques de brûlure laissé le en veille ne pas l'éteindre car il fait son propre nettoyage des pixels
I saw it in Best Buy and it looked good. But everyone is not recommending it due to poor off angle views and poor reflection handling. I think that is a reasonable analysis but at the discounted prices that are offered now it’s probably a decent buy.
Well I was at work when this dropped but it has all Sony goodies for a better price so a great choice for Sony fans that don't have the budget for the top end sets
Thank you so much! I truly appreciate you watching and for taking the time to comment in such a wonderful way. I hope all is well in Sweden, my friend .
I chose the Bravia 9 over it, because it's still better. Unlike what FOMO was saying about it. Considering how much cheaper the 7 is though, that's the one most people should go for.
Well it does have more than 3x the zones so better blooming, better contrast, better reflections, better viewing angles and better built-in speakers, so it is better but otherwise pretty similar. RTINGS basically said the same thing as FOMO that it looks almost identical in most content.
@@kamrhd You've been fooled lmao. I had the 85" Bravia 7 and 85" Bravia 9 at my home for over 3 weeks so I was able to test and compare side-by-side. The 9 is clearly better than the 7. It's not night and day but is easily noticeable.
I saw the Bravia 7 at Best Buy yesterday for $1399. It was extremely bright. It was so bright you could see it from the front of the store. I know they have it cranked up to the max brightness for display. It actually made me not want a tv that bright, even though I know it needs to be in a different mode and settings. I bought the Samsung 65in qn90c on sale for $1199. It suits my best use case, bright room good reflection handling and as a pc monitor.
Well guess what. I exchanged the Samsung 65in qn90c for a 65in Bravia 7 because the Samsung qn90c was disappointing in blooming, light bleeding at the bottom center of the screen, hdr too dark and some apps stopped working after 2011 update . I love the Bravia 7 , it's picture quality in Professional and Cinema mode is great. Netflix and Amazon Prime calibrated modes also great! Very glad I exchanged the Samsung qn90c. Bravia 7, It's my bedroom tv, I blocked the reflections in my room and the viewing angle is not as bad as reviewed. Beautiful tv.
Ive owned one for a month.meI bought it for a solo man cave/gaming/movie watching tv. Just me in a single chair in a dark room and for that its perfect. If you want to have 20 guests over to watch a UFC fight this might not be the best option
Bravia 7 and 9 Local Dimming Set to HIGH will greatly improve your , MOTION . If you move both Motion Bars all the way up/along and Local Dimming to HIGH Then you will get the Smoothest possible You can use BLACK FRAME INSERTION as well but this will lower your Overall Brightness up to 30% And it will also make your MOTION Even smoother
A small correction: the X93L does have the Cognitive Processor XR. That was introduced on the 'J' series in 2021, we're on the fourth iteration of that processor this year. XR Clear Image is the specific "feature" that was added last year, which the X93L lacked due to being an X95K on the hardware level.
@Brian - that’s not correct. Cognitive XR was introduced in 2021. In 2023 they introduced the XR Clear revision - that’s what the X93L doesn’t have. But the X93L does feature the XR processor.
@Sansho54 watch my interview with Sony’s Rob Brennan for clarification. I also speak directly Sony quite a bit. XR clear is just a feature. The X93L doesn't have the updated processor.
@ That’s correct, but earlier you said it didn’t have the XR Processor at all - just want to make sure we get the terminology right so people aren’t confused or misled.
@@Sansho54 This is exactly what I was trying to say. The Cognitive Processor XR was introduced in the 2021 lineup, and Sony have kept using it since, while revising it every year. So it goes like this: 2021 'J' lineup: XR processor 2022 'K' lineup: XR processor (2022 version) 2023 'L' lineup: XR processor (2023 version, except for X93L which has the 2022 XR processor) 2024 'Bravia' lineup: XR processor (2024 version)
I dunno Brian, many scenes in this video.....the picture looks washed. Also, anti-reflective screen is better on the x93L is better and RTINGS has many ratings aeras better than the Bravia 7. Seeing at this time: x93L 85 inch $2500 and Bravia 7 85 inch is $2500 as well. OR!!! I can buy the s90D 77 for $2200 or the Sony 90L for $1800 too!!!! Such hard decisions!!!!!
My A80j OLED just $hit it self after 3.5 years with vertical blue line and then won't start up with 4 red flashes. I'm looking at B7 coz its LED but Idk I feel I don't trust sony any more
Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear that! I completely understand not wanting to trust Sony again. However, they are one of the most reliable in the business . I wish you the best of luck.
im struggling to see how this makes sense, for many months this tv was barely better than the x90l or even the x93l, it was considered a side grade. now it's being touted as the best miniled from Sony. its hard to trust tv reviewers at this point!
While I get your point, i personally have never said that. I gave the Bravia 7 a very favorable video in my previous video. It's clearly better than the X90L and always had been. Thank you for watching
I get what you are saying. Does make you wonder? The same thing happened last year with the Sony A80L. No one was talking about it and then it gets a late push at the end of the year by reviewers. Both TV's got lost by all the talk about the A95L in 2023 and Bravia 9 this year.
Thank you for the wonderful review. I love my Bravia 7 and is often wowed by the picture I see. My live badminton games on tv just look awesome and no worries of burning in of the sports logo since I can watch it for 7-8 hours on end. Thank god I got it mounted on a wall with a swivel and it solved the angle viewing problems since my massage chair is on the side of the sofa. 👍🏻
Been waiting on this man, glad to see a more indepth dove into this because my chocie right now is the 77" bravia 7 vs the 75" Hisense U8N..... Ive seen both in store finally and man its hard to say which i would go with, whats your thoughts ?
Man have I got some thoughts! Bought the 85 inch U8N about a month ago and it has driven me nuts. If all I was watching was Jennifer Gala videos it would be fabulous but in the real world who does that? High quality streams from the major streamers are okay but not the best I've seen but it pretty much falls apart with lower quality streams and frequently downright abysmal with TH-cam TV and over the air broadcasts. The worst of it is the facial renditions which are frequently waxy, blocky and downright artificial looking. My 8-year-old Sony LED does a better job. As far as I can figure this is pretty much a processing and upscaling issue and I'm guessing this far into the model year most of the major programming tweaks have already been done. I would say whatever you do hold on through Black Friday -the TCL QM851G has pulled ahead in recent reviews (possibly due to better software updates than the U8N) and the 85 inch size has already dropped from $2500 to $2000 with similar reductions in the smaller sizes and the Bravia 7 currently holding at $2500. I've tried every tweak in the book but the U8N is just not going to cut it so it is going back. Having had the 85 inch there's no way I can go back on that either so so for me it's going to be the TCL or the Bravia 7. The Samsung QN90D with with no Dolby Vision, no DTS, and no ATSC 3.0 is a no-go. Having the 8 year old Sony that has really just run out of gas in the last year or so reminds me of just how well Sony quality and especially processing hold up over time so all else being equal that would be my choice the only thing really holding me back is the higher price and the reflections.
Looking forward to the Bravia 7 vs QN90D! 🎉 good vid tho! If only Sony would use an ADS panel or maybe their X wide feature on the 7. 🎉 Pricing is really good on these right now! Way better than the prices on the X93L ever! 🎉🎉 Question, do you think the 85” with maybe more dimming zones would perform better than the 65/75”? It seems like no one ever reviews the 85” size and they almost always have slightly different specs than the smaller sizes. 🎉
I like SONY Brand TV but hate it's blooming and bleeding issues on even micro Led TVS also side viewing angle makes you to feel like you are watching on those days projection TVs again, common Sony , you only care on your Higher End models only for SONY crazies 😂 also SONY's standing legs are horrible which looks like a crow legs they can't design better than that , Even Hisense stands on U8N are great on these days 😂😂🤣, now they have to get copy right from Hisense to improve that style 😂
Bonjour L'inculte premièrement le micro led hors de prix pour des années, ensuite le système de pieds plat favorise l'emplacement d'une barre de son ,et la stabilité se qui n'est pas le cas de LG ET Samsung

How do you reduce the black bars? Which setting should I change?

In the 75-77” size, Bravia 7 vs G4?
Hi Brian, quick question we recently purchased a 65” X90L. We love it when looking straight on, but the off angle local dimming is very distracting. It looks like the TV is flashing lights. Do you think the Bravia 7 is better in this regard?
Brian I keep hearing people say this TV is only a little better than the 90L. How do you feel about that ❓🤔
The Bravia 7 is great but if its side by side next to an X90L of the same size, then u will see they are similar.
@miltyap5600 Very nice 👏👍 I'm honestly looking at this. I also have under consideration either a 98" or 100" TCL or Hisense. 👍👏👏
We need Sony to make a 98” mini led to compete with TCL’s QM9 coming out in 2025.
@shadowbotz4293 most definitely! I believe you'll see one in 2025
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY Fingers crossed. I’ll definitely pick one up if they do. Great review on the Bravia 7 btw.

@Ocho817 they definitely improve the larger you go my friend
sony bravia 7 vs Sony x95L …..which one is better?
Great content Brian, I'm pretty convinced in getting a 75" Samsung QN90D, but this video makes it very tough now, can't wait to see the VS video.
Simply amazing review. I have one question brother both at 85 inches this TV or the 2024 tcl qm851g
I still favor Sony and it's superior picture processing
Looking to buy a 65 inch tv the ones that are between $400-$500 which one do u recommend? We usually buy samsung products but is there something better?
Are the three picture modes in the game mode calibrated ootb like the true game mode from panasonic?
Sony's presets are very accurate. Panasonics true game mode whole calibrated can look a little dull so I wouldn't chase that.
@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY its little dull because Panasonic Imitate higig or i am wrong
No reality creation in game mode? I can use it on my x90l.
any ghosting or blurring when gaming on x90l?
@ No because I keep it to 60 fps gaming on the couch, but with higher frame rates you would for sure have VA smearing.
I can use reality creation in game mode on my Bravia 9. I'm assuming the 7 can also do it.

X90l or bravia 7 for movies and shows
If they are within $300 get the B7 for sure
I quit.
@ZenSponge welcome to the community and family, my friend. Your time is valuable, and I appreciate you watching .
Is it wroth it to spend the extra money for the Bravia 9 or should I just stick to the Bravia 7. I’ll be using the TV in a bright room
@mythicalgamer7373 they are both excellent! The Bravia 9 is at least 10 to 15% better. Better local dimming with better HDR impact. If that's worth it to you, then I'd grab it.
@ is there a major difference when it comes to game mode
@mythicalgamer7373 the differences apply to the game mode as well.

Excellent comment!
@@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY Thanks, well, I can't really say I NEED the 98"! 😁
@BRIANSTECHTHERAPY 👋 Does the Bravia 7 have better processing than the LG G4? 🤔
I'd say the B7 is closer to the X93L in all Specs for the 65inch and 55 inch
I'd say the 75 and 85inch is closer to the x95l
Only cos I had the x93l and x95l
I now have the B7 and B9 and with there Firmware update they function even better when first got
And in all content
I do think tho that the B7 and B9 in 75inch Function Very the same and Look So alike in all content
I was looking at weights for the 85” b7 and it is closest to the x95L so I think your right.

Bravia 7 vs QN90D? Any recommendations with why I should go for one or the other? Getting both around $1800 -75 inches

@ what can cause burning and shouldn’t they have technology to fix that?

He was testing it on buggy firmware, the new firmware apparently fixed most issues he mentioned.
Well it does have more than 3x the zones so better blooming, better contrast, better reflections, better viewing angles and better built-in speakers, so it is better but otherwise pretty similar. RTINGS basically said the same thing as FOMO that it looks almost identical in most content.
It’s absolutely not the worth the price jump, there’s barely a difference between the 7 and 9. You got duped lmao

You can use BLACK FRAME INSERTION as well but this will lower your Overall Brightness up to 30% And it will also make your MOTION Even smoother
The X93L is basically an X95K and it doesn't have the XR cognitive processor. It's the one TV in last years line up that doesn't have it.
So it goes like this:
2021 'J' lineup: XR processor
2022 'K' lineup: XR processor (2022 version)
2023 'L' lineup: XR processor (2023 version, except for X93L which has the 2022 XR processor)
2024 'Bravia' lineup: XR processor (2024 version)
I dunno Brian, many scenes in this video.....the picture looks washed. Also, anti-reflective screen is better on the x93L is better and RTINGS has many ratings aeras better than the Bravia 7.

I get what you are saying. Does make you wonder? The same thing happened last year with the Sony A80L. No one was talking about it and then it gets a late push at the end of the year by reviewers. Both TV's got lost by all the talk about the A95L in 2023 and Bravia 9 this year.
@kommandantklink5032 that's exactly what happened and I bought the a80L at 83" for myself

Bravia 7 has the same viewing angles as a mini LED IPad Pro 😂
Thank god I dont watch my tv from dumb side angles 🙄
Reflection handling looks bad
