I mean, I'm good at using photoshop, the problem is I have no ideas on what to create in it. My mind is just not as free as I want it to be. :( Any tips on how to get some ideas? Anyone?
***** (Not a pro photoshopper) It's just creativity, you don't really make the idea up front. You do it while editing, it's hard to explain. Just let your mind wander, see it while you're editing. YOu start out with a simple idea, then as you work on it, you just add little details.

***** Oh well, everyone can do it to some extend. Try making a mind-map, you can get pretty good ideas with that. Keep in mind that - most - good art usually doesn´t try to send a static 'message'. It just tricks your 'creative brain' in making its own message. But yes, this is not always easy... I don't have a hard time coming up with things, but that's mainly because I read / watch a lot of fantasy. Don't use too much logic while doing it, it must convey feeling. You can do it too, otherwise you wouldn't be able to appreciate it either.

The problem with me is that I use too much logic (not trying to stand out as a smartass), because I use a lot of "why?" in my life and not just going with situations it as they come. I do read books as well, but not fantasy and SCI-FI ones, just dramas, thrillers, action etc. I will try a change of books for starters and see how this goes. One step at a time. I've seen many things in my life, that have had "killed" my fantasy world in my mind a long time ago. Thanks again, mate. I won't be bothering you again. :)

If you learn to combine logic and creativity in some way, this becomes powerful. For example, it is not enough to compare love to a flower. Hot jealous unconsummated love is not the same as the love of a couple married for decades. If you need a flower to symbolize jealous love, you must go into the garden, and look, and make subtle distinctions, find a flower with a heady scent, and a bright color, and thorns. There's nothing wrong with focusing your mind, narrowing your categories, excluding possibilities, and sharpening your propositions. If you don't, you end up with something that isn't true and doesn't even make good art. But yes, this is all pretty fucking hard...
