I'm 29 and started getting into glam rock summer of 2022 after getting deep into Motley Crue and GnR and it has become my favorite music genre by far. I love Ratt, Dokken, LA Guns, Motley, GnR, and so much more. I seriously love glam!
Side note, Glam Rock and Glam Metal are two different genres. Glam Metal are the bands you’re listing. But Glam Rock is the 70’s with bands like Sweet, T-Rex, Gary Glitter, etc.
There will never be another era of music like the 80s. And honestly it doesn't matter which genre of music it was I obviously love the glam metal hair metal whatever you want to call it it's all Rock and roll to me. The most important thing about music in my opinion was writing good music and throwing the f*** down live. It's just kind of crazy to think about how many bands they're actually was
Finally finished this video Brendon. It’s truly a library for the genre. I’m sure most of this is not available to stream. A huge task finding this stuff and knowing it exists. And again, it looks so comforting to be submerged in it. Thank you for sharing!
People who make fun of Winger because of Beavis & Butthead have no choice but to also bag on the Star Trek franchise and “geek culture” in general. It was established that Stuart enjoyed those things as well. Otherwise, Winger “critics” are being hypocritical. For me, I’m looking forward to seeing Winger perform “Pull” in its entirety later this year.
This is what I've been waiting for! Thanks Brendon for taking time to run through your collection of this genre. That was a very comprehensive guide of the major bands and some more obscure ones. It is definitely an uplifting genre which can raise your mood and make you feel young again! Saw a few titles that I missed back in the day to look out for. Thanks
Poison went from glam metal to rock to blues to mainstream rock .but I always enjoyed their music and I seen them five times in concert 4 with C C and one concert with Ritchie.
So do I ! Flesh & Blood it’s my favourite one! In fact I think the 90’s was the decade of the most “mature” albums, they were very well balanced in terms of musical technical approach and feeling!
Wow, impressive collection Brendon! Great video bringing back memories of so much great music from the late 80’s early 90’s….what a time for music it was!
The song Fire and Ice on Native Tongue , is just incredible. Kotzen is an immense talent , but when it comes to Poison , they are and forever CC driven . They need his punky , sporadic playing .
To this day I'm honestly perplexed at the level of scorn this genre receives. Even radio generally memory-holes the entire era with the exception of a handful of megahits (Photograph, Here I Go Again, You Give Love A Bad Name, etc, etc). I just don't 'get' how both critics and the general public can be so dismissive of what was really about a decade-long reign of music where the vocals were often superhuman, the essential guitar melodies were nothing short of virtuoso, and the overall songwriting was more memorable and hook-laden than much of what has come since, not to mention the sheer amount of charismatic personalities involved. To say that there was an over abundance of talent would be an understatement. Despite all of these factors, it's almost like the world wants to forget that it ever existed. It makes no sense to me. Truly it was an era that deserves a deeper analysis and greater respect than it currently gets.
I'm fascinated by that early 90's music period where glam/hair metal was being pushed aside by the grunge movement, and how those bands pivoted. Asphalt Ballet, Extreme, Saigon Kick, Kick Tracee, Trixter even to some extent.....One foot in metal, one foot in grunge.
Great collection geez i Had about 368 Cassette tapes at one time. I Like Glam also it was Awesome, The Only Band i was waiting for to see if you had was any Shotgun Messiah. im sure you must know them, they put out 3 Good Albums in a Row
Such a great video. Will need to go back to it many times. A lot of bands I do not have in my 5000 CDs collection. Wow. So many things I need to buy now
For me it’s the only way to keep it all organized. With so many I’ve had to come up with unique ways of grouping to do what you said which is create space for other bands that have smaller catalogues.
@@BrendonSnyder It's funny Brendon, our glam metal collections are very similar. You just have a few more obscure and rare items than me. Especially the limited release Ratt / Stephen Pearcy and Love-Hate material. Great video!
I am not a big Glam Metal fan, but I love your videos. You have such a big knowledge about rock/metal music and when you mentioned the near between Glam Metal and Grunge it opened my eyes because I am a big Grunge fan but as I said not a big Glam Metal fan :) Keep on doing that great videos!🤟
HI A wonderful collection, I started collecting Vinyl LPs... And what can't be found on LP, I buy on CD...anyway, it's fantastic to love music...I'm quietly jealous. I wish you a nice day and good luck.
That was a marathon, but super fun. For me, a few of my favorite 'hidden gems' that you showed -- Juliet, Roxy Blue, Christy Steele, Saraya and Tora Tora. Really good stuff if your viewers want to dig into some lesser-known artists. THX, Brendon!
Hello from France🇨🇵 Huge collection with most of the best glam rock albums from the 80's and 90's. It was a period when music made us smile and we didn't worry 😎 I haven't calculated the number of CDs you presented but it was significant. If I had to choose just one? VAIN “No Respect”🤘❤️ Good job👍

That said, when the topic of *glam metal* is the main focus of a video & or brought up just in passing, much like a child alone in the wilderness, I am completely lost. Truly having never listened to any bands under the umbrella of said genre. With the closet I ever got to possibly “exploring” said style of music out being when at my local thrift store *(shoutout to Value Village on Kingston Road & Whites Road in Pickering-Ontario, Canada)* a few years back I found & bought a copy of the *Cinderella - Night Songs* CD. But alas, much like alot of other cd’s, vinyl, cassettes, 8-tracks I find/purchase in my travels, I never found the time nor had any desire to listen to it. And as a result, it has long since sold. My loss perhaps, but who knows maybe one day I may give some of the band’s mentioned in this video a listen, but just not today. Another insightful upload though, Brendon. And do keep em’ coming. Yes there was a lot of great stuff show there towards the end. It’s a lot to take in but worth it if you’re looking to find some cool hidden gems that ran under the radar back in the day.
@@BrendonSnyder I always thought I was up on things back in the day with Circus or Hit Parader, but over the past few years I've learned through TH-cam I only scratched the surface!

Great stuff! I’ve got a huge CD and box set collection myself but not quite as much as you. And yeah, some people get defensive about who you include in glam rock/hair metal because the terms have been stigmatized but I was at the perfect age (high school 1983-1986) and there’s no question that even the rock bands that aren’t fully hair bands certainly still participated in it and there shouldn’t be any shame in that. If you turned on MTV in the mid 80s you’d see Ozzy and Judas Priest and Kiss and Heart and Scorpions and the rest right next to Dokken and Poison and Bon Jovi with the same clothes/guitars/hair/band sonics as all the genuine hair bands. Just look at Ozzy’s blonde perm and glitter around that time or any of those bands’ videos. They’re all right in line. But I loved it and still do out of nostalgia.

Why would you think I’m missing it? Pantera was never Glam Metal. They were Power Metal before Groove Metal. Regardless, I don’t keep them in Glam Metal. Better time stumping me next time 😂
What Aerosmith a glam metal I thinking of them as hard rock then pop rock my favorite Aerosmith is 70s 80s from done with mirrors permanent vacation pump .guns n roses is my favorite band and to me they are a hard rock band. Bullet boys was awesome through their faces three cds 💿. Danger danger I only own the first two albums. Dangerous toys the first three was my favorite.
Question for you, when adding to your collection in alphabetical order like u have a cd for the letter "A" do u have to move down all the rows just to sneak it in or do u just put them someplace else?
Some people think that glam rock is not cool these days. I love it! They don't realize what they're missing.
Amen!!
well, it's Not popular but considered "classic stuff" still very Good I loved Glam also. I did a Video about My Favorite Glam Metal Album

Крутая коллекция. Но глэм метал довольно размытое понятие. Так что думаю здесь имеется и просто хард рок или хэви метал.
