Every time Derrian goes on the floor I hope she finally gets the 10 she deserves so much and every time the judges disappoint me :( Derrian deserves that 10 more than any other gymnast in the NCAA!
Her first pass was under rotated as she went forward or her lundge, second pass was not controlled, and she did a weird thing on her leap which i think was also a deduction. She does beautiful gymnastic but tonight was definitly not the night for a 10
Stevens was underscored on floor and overscored on beam. Gabby’s beam was a 10. Great job to one of the judges for throwing it. Not sure what’s more annoying, undeserved 10’s, or deserved 10’s that are underscored.
Gabby did have the slightest over-rotation on her full pirouette, but I agree with your general sentiment. Truly perfect form like Gabby's just isn't rewarded enough by the judges. I mean Stevens had some obvious form errors (flexed feet, bent legs) that were blatantly ignored, as is par for the course in NCAA competition. If ppl can be scoring 9.95s and even 10s every week with glaring form errors, that really just goes to show that the current scoring is completely ineffective at separating the great performances from the truly exemplary performances like Gabby's. It's such a shame.
@@lovewasawillow Oh I didn’t see her slightly over cook her turn. That makes me feel better about the score. You are spot on about impeccable form not being rewarded enough in NCAA gymnastics. The only way to do that would be to deduct from small form breaks. We would see a lot more discrepancy in the scores, and it would cultivate an environment conducive to producing beautiful gymnastics. Gymnasts like Wojeck, Ramler, Skaggs, the Baumans, Thomas, Lee, and Wong (not a fully inclusive list, and spellings may be wrong) would be the standard of excellence.
@@elisabethmorning3735 Absolutely!! It just sucks that landing deductions are the only ones that are always and consistently applied. I was just watching the Utah - Cal meet and one of the Utah gymnasts was doing a perfect beam routine, beautiful toe point and no form errors throughout, but had a medium sized hop on the landing - 9.85. Meanwhile as long as you don’t wobble and stick the dismount it’ll always go at least 9.95, no matter how atrocious the form on the beam (I shudder to think of the number of bent legs/flexed feet layout stepout routines I’ve seen get a 9.95). I know elite judging can often seem overly picky but it is stuff like this that makes me appreciate the elite judges; they won’t be blinded by a stick and actually deduct properly for bad form and technique
Great meet! Thank you so much for uploading it! I love both teams' leotards. Congrats Auburn. Great vault from Sophia. Great bars from Amaya, Jocelyn, Alisa, and Amari. Great vault, floors and bars from Derrian. I love her bars dismount. Great vault, bars, beam and floor from Suni. Great vault, bars and beam from Sienna. Great vault and bars from Drew. Great bars and beam from Cassie. Great beam from Piper, Gaby, and Helen. Great floors from Sophia.
@@bellep9520 as a black woman, I love the attitude of our women. Not sure why you put it in quotations. It is a part of who we are and how we show up in society. Just because you define attitude negatively based on negativity perpetuated in the media, that’s on you. So if that makes you sad (and anyone else that has something to say about it), please go salt your food with those tears because I do not care.
I think the "gymnasties" need to stop crossing the line!!!!!!! It really says a lot about the school. I feel so bad for the other teams having their names called and having that happen. The sport is dangerous they need their focus and confidence. This is taking the focus off the meet and that is just horrible sportsmanship. I would be embarrassed to have that as my student section and is not considered fun by any means! The dancing is funny but the yelling after their names are called obviously is humiliating. I LOVE their gymnastics team and want to see everyone do well and hope that they can have their fun but create a standard before a Karen kills it.
I just think it's exciting that people are getting excited about women's sports. The student section does the same thing at basketball games and football games so they should be able to do it here too
@@Sunflower_vally I don't think name calling is gonna give someone a life-threatening injury. If someone is doing a skill that requires THAT much focus they probably aren't hearing much of the crowd noise anyway. Auburn's student section has been like this for a while, and nothing life-threatening has happened (to my knowledge). If you watch the Alabama at Auburn meet from a week or two ago you can see the Alabama gymnasts laughing at the student section or blowing them a kiss when they stick a landing. They embrace the rivalry and the student section.
@@Sunflower_vally as long as you keep this same energy for all college sports I respect your opinion : ) i'm just saying that we shouldn't treat the women different than the men

All the screaming from these girls is so put on and overdone, really not necessary. Applause and cheering is well and good but this is so loud and ear splitting, really bad.

Thank you for uploading! Also I'm loving how happy Suni is!
Glad to see Piper Smith was okay after her fall off the low bar.
It was scary! I can't believe they let her finish that routine AND compete beam after hitting her head! Hope she's doing okay today

I absolutely LOVE black women on floor. I love that they add that attitude and spice to their routines. Black girl magic for sure. 💕

Judges were judging harshly all around. Derrian Gobourne should have gotten much higher than 9.8 on floor. 9.95 at least!
The favoritism on home court seems to be a problem in college it seem a bigger issue in SEC.
