  • In this episode we share our experiences at Hakone Airu which is a hotel known for its private onsen and private dining experience where you are treated like royalty with many courses including breakfast. We wanted to experience traditional japan with the royal treatment.

love the honest review! Too many videos rating everything like it's the best thing they ever had is so annoying...thank you!

Appreciated how respectful you guys were about the food haha, I've had kaiseki style meals in Japan in the past, and as much as I want to love it it's definitely something to get used to. I'm going to be visiting this ryokan in May, so thank you for posting such a detailed video!

I was a bit confused so I'm hoping you can clarify a few points. You mentioned about having your own private onsen, but this reminds me of what is typically classified as a hot spring bathtub, rather than an onsen. Perhaps this hotel classifies this a bit differently versus other ryokans, but I thought I'd ask. I gather the public onsen has separate ones for men and women, so couples can't spend time together in one onsen? Thanks for your help.

We’re traveling with family members in 2 weeks. Since we will be booking a room in hakone, can we have a bathing suit on even in our private onsen?

When you do to dinner, a hotel staff will come in and set up the floor mats for sleeping. They are very soft and comfortable futons that we got the best sleep in Japan 🤗

Hi, do you have to pay extra for the beef shabu or it’s included? Thanks

I’m planning to book this place this coming December. What floor was your room at? I heard reviews saying that 3rd and 4th floor have the open air Onsen

In case anyone reads this. Avoid the place at all costs and for the love of god DO NOT EAT in this establishment. They serve sashimi and other easily spoiled food and there isn't even a kitchen in the building.
