As a ballerina (female), this is remarkable and I’m so proud of jayna for being a transfer ballerina. It takes so much work to do well as a ballerina either male or female. Jayna excelled at both. Very impressed with this video!
She is not the first male to female transgender ballet dancer. There are a couple of female dancers in professional companies. Her technique will never be good enough to dance professionally.
I love how most people are being disrespectful by commenting their own opinions in a negative way just because they literally have nothing else to do than giving their best on insulting. I do respect the fact that "SHE" wants to be a ballerina and doesn't lose her interests on it, just because she gets bullied by non-girl having men or too much ego spreading girls. @Trenton Quarantino actually being transgender is a real thing proves by science and psychology, so 1. Don't make up the notion that "everyone says it isn't true, including science" which is an outright lie - science is in favour of transgender people, 2. As a male dancer the technique would have been passable. As a female dancer in a pre professionals company there's no way that she even competes. it's possible that the pre-professional school discriminated based on the gender change. My guess is it's most likely due to her technique and abilities being nowhere near what is required for a professional female dancer. And why does everybody think they need the hardest shank from Gaynor Minden? and the rolled in feet, especially in 5th position. You have to be on the outside of your feet. I know that there are companies that have transgender female dancers, and that more would be open to it as long as their technique is up to par with the other female dancers.
@@qqqualitymusicproductions7957 no, it's 'she' Her biological sex might be male But her gender, what she identifies as and ultimately what she IS is female

@@akaMyThought transphobic is not meant to literally be taken as an "unreasonable fear", as you well know. Its just a way of saying people that have unreasonably negative feelings towards trans individuals.
Transitioning from a male to female in ballet is actually worse. Male dancers get away with a lot in regards to pour technique, bad feet, etc. when she transitioned to female she now has to compete with all of the technique that the other females have. She has pretty arches but that's about it. she rolls her feet and to collapse her Arch which is just superbad. And her snow queen solo her front foot was never pointed on any of her leaps. And her pique turns are just sad.
I'm 100% supportive of this wonderful dancer's decision to become female but I do see a reason as to why the school might not have accepted her. We see in this vid her learning to use pointe shoes, most girls start when they are young, between 11-13 or so. Pre-professional programs are quite prestigious and gruelling for any dancer but I think it would've been particularly tough for her as she wouldn't be used to all the steps and techniques the other girls would've been using for years, so she would be on the back foot and would probably struggle with picking up choreography. I definitely think that she should try out for a company or programme after a while of just classes to build up the technique and repertoire that a female role in ballet demands.
Thats because human males have more testosterone meaning less body fat and more pronounced facial features. Thats why many trasgender woman look like models.

It's kinda funny, ballet's visual aesthetic for females is a LOT like the male aesthetic, which is why there is often food-related disorders for females because they are called out for growing on top when a flat chest is the traditional aesthetic. It's changing some, but it's still a long way to go.

Maria Muhebzada that isn’t related to this video is it? I don’t think being Male gives you an advantage in being a ballerina either
@Maria Muhebzada You also seem to dislike proper grammar.
oooo her pointe shoes do NOT fit correctly
