Is it just me or is there an issue with audio of some kind. Parts of the audio are just being cut out for some reason. Regardless, I love all the old Traviss stuff. I still don't understand what issue GL had with her lore that he would allow Filoni and the other TCW writers to change everything.
Her rabid anti-Jedi stance, her godlike worship of the Mandos, her not being extremely cooperative with fellow writers especially on continuity, and so on. Say what I will about Filoni, I'm admittedly A-OK with having an interesting chat+coffee with the guy, while I may feel quakish with Traviss.
@michaelandreipalon359 I see. Thank you for the clarification. And I agree with you on Filoni. He does seem relatively civil and genuinely passionate, although that doesn't forgive him in my book. I also saw a clip of him being a bit condescending and passive-aggressive by comparing EU fans to spoiled children when he was asked whether more EU characters would be brought back, and unlike most novel/comic writers, Filoni and the other TV show writers who work with him are much more interested in bastardisations of EU content rather than faithful portrayals. He used the example of George bringing Aayla Secura, originally a comic character, to screen in Episodes 2 and 3, to justify what he did to Thrawn, but Secura's implementation didn't change anything fundamentally about her or her backstory, unlike Filoni's Thrawn.
@@michaelandreipalon359what’s wrong with being anti jedi? When you look at it logically they have no place in influencing the republic or fighting in wars especially as generals.
Yassss! It's so great to see this awesome novel getting a spotlight! Karen Traviss's writing has its flaws, but her books add so much to the larger clone wars stories.
We didn't spend much time with him, but Ghex Hokkan was a brutal man. The way he dealt with the local separatist militia in the novel struck me as extremely callous.
Man, wish we saw more of the Commando Squads during TCW. Delta Squad, Omega Squad, Ion Squad, etc. Would've been better handled than they were in the Bad Batch.
realy? it sounds like the native specis did not want the humans along and either some hige ups hide the fact that the planet had some inteligent specis or it wasent found out. it is sad for the colonists yes, but the specis also defended their home world and made a deal. there is a LOT of storys where coporations or other species colonises worlds without regard to any previous inhabitants even though they are sentient. something like that ended up making a terror of the clonewar in grivous. the jedi and republic was part of making one of their worst enemys for siding with the aggressor in the conflict. grievous and his people was defending their planet and way of life from a carnivous insectoid specis if i remember correctly. a lot the things going on during the clone wars was conflicts that had been stewing for 100s of years from things like that and boiled over completly. i hope the specis managed to keep its planet.

Another amazing video, thanks. Speaking of sabotage, stealth and commandos, it would be nice to see a video on the various infiltration, assassin and sabotage droids used by the CIS such as the Colicoid Infiltrator Droid that could decimate entire star destroyers' crews, the assassin probe used in an attempt to assassinate Satine Kryze, or the Infiltrator Demolition Droid used to infiltrate and destroy Coruscant's reactor, or HK-67 assassin droids amongst many others. These droids could have won the war for the CIS if used more often and better.
Yeah instead it’s just the same old Anakin, Ahsoka, Rex and 501st for focus. I feel like their screentime should’ve been earned and we should have seen more minor or new characters instead of the same main characters.
@@zachduperron8543Yeah. As much as I love the 501st, Rex, Anakin, Ahsoka etc., I personally think they could’ve snd should’ve had episodes for Delta Squad and their many missions during the Clone Wars. Heck, it would’ve been a great opportunity for them to re-canonize the Cuy’Val Dar.
I think a clone virus would have been absolutely devastating as a clone wars what if. That and it’s creator’s would immediately have a target on their heads.
Omega Squad might not be my favorite Commando Squad (those would be Delta Squad, CF99 and the Muunilinst 10), but I’ll admit that they certainly had their moments. And this mission is one of them.
Muunilinst 10 aren't a commando squad, they're an ARC squad. While ARC may stand for Advanced Recon Commando, ARCs are so different to RCs that they can't be lumped together.
@oriongear2499 Like I said, though, just because they have commando in their title does not make them a commando squad. There is a big difference between ARCs and clone commandos, and they can't both be labeled commando squads.
@oriongear2499 Calling an ARC a commando is like calling Neyo and the 91st commandos simply because they're BARC troopers (Biker Advanced Recon Commandos), it just doesn't work that way.
I wondered how many colonists have been killed during the eviction by the Republic forces because it will be such a sight to see. After all, they're the invaders who occupied someone's home.
Love or hate Karen Traviss' writing, she sure knows the occasional stakes when it comes to military operations, the dangers of Murphy's Law, and the bullkriffery of military command (and some civilians, but that's a touchy subject entirely). Now, when we gonna hear about the balls-to-the-wall nonsense from Triple Zero onwards?
not heard about that one. clearly shows the skills of that specis beeing able to force the republic to honour their deal with them. is it known what happend to them later in the war and later during the imperial era and then the new republic era? also was they part of legend or cannon. (sounds like a scentient specis that the vong could have gothen a little along with because they did not rely on techonlogy etc and the vong hated technology)
Okay you can't fully blame the Republic for what happened on Quilura, this is just as much the colonizing Humans and the Guralnins fault as it is the Republics, all three sides should have realized something important that their true enemy was the Separatists not each other and that they Galaxy is very big so the actions of one group can affect many so they must consider everyones needs and views, Quilura is the home of both the Guralinins and these Humans and they both need the planet to live and survive you can't kick one off because then you make them homeless and condemn them to suffering and possible death, both sides should have been more reasonable and realized this is all their homes, and the Republic should have been better at keeping the peace since with all of them divided the Separatists would have an easy time taking the planet and outcome none of them wanted, but instead all three sides wasted time backstabbing and turning on each other. All sides really need to learn a thing or two about loyalty.
Doesn't he only appear once as an adult when Jaina Solo goes to Mandalore? There's not really a whole lot about him to talk about other than he's Force sensitive and he leads a "Mandalore first" political movement.
These novels contain all my favorite clone characters. Canon, legends, doesn't matter. It's the perfect mix of indoctrination and free will leading to order 66 that Disney can't make. It makes the clones people, not just good characters
Oh yes, the book that has blatant Skirata worship, misogynistic nonsense like a rape that comes out of nowhere. Seriously you forgot to mention that the Padawan was almost raped and the colonists reaction to this graphic sexual assault was “well maybe if you weren’t pretty, he wouldn’t go after you.“yes really. Not to mention this was the beginning of the whole Mandalorian worship and “Skirata is tots the koolest” nonsense.
