That was beautiful! That literally exactly how chefs cook with their buds. No measuring spoons cleaning up as you go. Dirty towels same blender to incorporate all flavors. Loved watching this!
This entire documentary series exists because Roy Choi and Jon Favreau literally became best friends after they worked on Chef (2018) It's a very wholesome bromance.

This was like boiled chicken+. It's stewed chicken with tons of flavor. A lot of Asian dishes with boiled chicken are so damn delicious, but the texture of boiled chicken skin is revolting.

There is a trick to onions... Keep them in the fridge. Preferably in a container. Outside they dry out slowly and shrink so the outer layers push down on the ones beneath, making them spray much more juice when you cut them. it's like popping a balloon. If you buy produce from a wholesale place where everything has been refrigerated since it was picked, you can cut 50 pounds of onions without crying. In the same way, fresh onions are better (=not dry). A sharp knife also helps - means lesser cell walls broken. At the extreme it can be compared to breaking firewood with an axe vs a hammer... Both will work, but one is much cleaner.
Garfield was a cat. At no point could he have ordered a lasagna on his own. Which means, completely unaware of whether or not his cat likes lasagna, Jon GAVE HIM HIS FIRST LASAGNA! Which often has garlic which cats are allergic to. So my theory is Jon was trying to poison him. Great show btw
for Onions, the best tip is to make sure you have as sharp a knife as possible. the sharper the knife, the less that it will make the juice vaporize and hit your eyes. you can also cut them next to a lit gas burner. If available.
And writing the Mandalorian. Seriously, if you haven't watched Chef, you should do it. It opened up Jon's love for cooking and sparked a lifelong friendship with Roy Choi. In the first episode of the Chef Show he explained that he missed working with Roy Choi and didn't want to stop cooking and filming with him.
16:24 I was lost in translation when Roy says 'push MY buttons' but wut the Rice cooker actually meant 'push THE buttons'. ...dunno the part about the word happy cuz dat was too much 🤣🤣....
There's another Netflix original where Seth Rogen and Chef David Chang of Momofuku go eat in Vancouver, Canada while smoking weed. Filmed them lighting the blunt and everything.
This docuseries is great because at some points during the episode, it stops being about the food and more about three people hanging out and learning about each other while cooking. As everyone knows, cooking and food has this magical ability to bring people together.

Perfect!
The laughing is 50% of anything Rogan is in.
Perfect balance
Hahahah yea exactly

I was watching the episode on Netflix, paused at the 18min mark, and started watching it here...
The comment system, duh.
A blessing from Netflix. thank you
15:15 when the food is taking way too long but you're starving.

No one laughs like Seth Rogan ! Best voice I’ve heard in 10 years !
Love this show DO NOT STOP

Anyone that isnt asian will never think how the cheap plastic rice cookers are the magic rice makers.
Yup.. so true
...what kind is it?
That rice cooker is Cuckoo and cost almost $550 🤑🤑
I LOVE how Seth laughs. Hu Hu Hu Hhu!!!!

I like how over-the-top the animations are.
love the stop motion interludes
have u seen chef?
I think Jon and Roy would be a great team together in a movie.... I love this show
Pretty sure Roy was the one who mentored Jon for Jon's lead role in Chef
Yes Roy taught jon what to do and how to act like a chef. So many cooking movies have actors who don’t look or act the part
I love how Seth was sh*t talking about Asian “boiled chicken” but then gets a bowl full and LOVES IT!! Asian braised meat is remarkable!
I really like Seth Rogen's laugh XD
i love the intro
Seth’s laugh gets me every time 😂
This is my favorite food show now! i love the oyster episode!
Do you remember wich episode is the oyster?
Roy gave Jon super hi-tech rice cooker and when Jon asked if Roy wanted to trade it with Roy's low-tech one, he said no 😂
You see how hard working these guys are even when cooking Jon was locked in..
First episode I had watched from this series. It looked very delicious and it was funny 😄

Pumba cooking chicken. I likes it.
I have a feeling Rogen is not the "clean as you go" type. Cooks you dinner but leaves your kitchen a wreck.
