These past few months, I've had to deal with the deaths of two of our family pets. It's been hard on me to say the least. The pet that died this month, a cat named Junior, was left to decay in a closet for a week. No one else wanted to acknowledge the fact that he'd died, and so no one wanted to retrieve him. Even when the entire house smelled indescribably putrid, it was only until our new dog dragged his corpse out into the open that anyone did anything about it. I was the one who buried him a day later, and with that smell still lingering in my head, I was compelled to write these lyrics.
Sorry if that's all too personal, but I wanted to explain what fueled this. I hope that maybe after posting this, I can let go of all these negative feelings weighing down on me...this place has such a heavy and stagnant atmosphere, sometimes I just don't know what to do.
The vocals are a bit muffled here, but I think it sounds better this way, sorry. ;;

I can almost make a story out of this.
A woman comes to Lavender Town, having lost her family in some freak accident. She hears the voices of her family in her head, and soon enough, she decides to commit suicide, to be with them. As she lays there, dying, she realizes the horrible mistake she made, and begins to cry out for help, for someone to save her life, only to die before anyone hears her. She, like all the ghosts in Lavender Town, is now trapped in the Noble Purple Town, forgotten and forsaken.

It comforts me to think of when pets have had long, loving lives. Both of my pets died by things that probably could have been prevented had we known though, and that's what tears me up about it. Still, I'll always remember them fondly...and I'll try not to beat myself up over it too much. They should rest in peace.

Even in the exotic hobby and keeping animals like tarantulas like I do, it still has the same way when one perished as I still question if I could have done better. To this day, I still don’t have answers form some of the tragedies I’ve had.

This does bring memories to the surface. It was windy, and pouring outside. I was laying down in bed, and listened to the rain briefly, as I love when it rains. However, there seemed to be the disruption in the distinct pitter-patter of the rain, I looked out my sliding glass door in my room, curious. There was a dead cat lying just outside. I didn't see it last night, and now there's a dead cat outside my room. I informed my mother and sister, and the next day, when the rain lifted, we took the cat to our backyard, and buried it, along with two trash bags to cover it. The small grave marker my sister and I made is still visible.

This is really crazy; I have a grey tom-cat named Junior who is 15. He's getting old, and reading that description of yours is freaking me out; Junior is the family cat, but mostly my mom's, so she wouldn't let him rot in a closet... However, I am truly shocked that the cat story bears such resemblance to my actual life... Creepy. I hope he doesn't die soon.

I think that the personal experience you described in the description really helped you do justice to the theme of the song and the town in the game. And it's just a tiny bit morbid, giving it that all important slightly uncomfortable edge. It is both a soothing lullaby to the dead and a honest portrayal of the devastation and confusion that confronts those who remain behind, living.

I remembered this song recently, because my own pet passed away. And it hurt, but I remembered this song and it helped me come to accept that my best friend is gone. It hurts, it really does. But I understand this song more now and how much it hurt to have a beloved friend pass. Thank you for keeping this here honestly, it means so much to hear this song.

I agree. My aunt is the one who owned him, and whenever I'd bring it up to her, she'd say that she "didn't want to think about it". Sadly, or maybe appropriately, he was in her room when he died, so she probably trained herself to ignore the smell. It was pretty terrible...I'm glad I was able to give him a proper grave in the end, though.

Okay, so this is perfect music for a part of my oc's backstory. You now get free VIP access to this oc. Her name is Juniper. Juniper was a black kitten who lived most of her short life in an abusive household. The children would kick her and abuse her and the adults would chase her with brooms. She was always covered in cuts and bruises. She ate scraps off the floor. One day, the house caught on fire. The humans simply abandoned her. She barely made it out of there alive. The fire had taken her eyes and one ear, and she was bleeding profusely from her eyes. This was going to kill her. She was completely helpless. She was crying out for help. Her mews were unheard, though, since she escaped from the house into a dark alleyway. This song could play as she slowly bled to death. The lyrics totally describe this happening. She is slowly being released from this world, never having to go through the troubles of her short life ever again...
This may be one of the most beautiful versions I have found.

Another deeply moving song Suri. A pet dying is always sad and I feel for you. This song though...it makes the thought of death less sad somehow? It's like, it's certainly sad. But it's peaceful and nice to be able to let go? I don't know if that makes sense but that's the feeling I got.

One of my dog's, a sweet lab dog, died after getting sick from being in the snow too long. I remember always forgetting to feed her some days, forgetting to refill her water bowl and not playing with her as much as I should have. She was always outside because my parents hated dogs. Because we never toke care of her enough, she died. I still cry thinking about it.
