Working as a nurse in a private hospital looking after this young lady who is a princess, I mentioned to her that the ring she had on was beautiful, she took it off and gave it to me. Unfortunately I couldn't except it as I would have lost my job. Another time I spent the day looking after an elderly woman, she was lovely turns out she was one of the bosses mother's, by the end of the shift I went from being an agency nurse to having a permanent job, that one I could accept.
I’ve heard that at the hospital system that I work for, if one of the rich Arab patients that come there offer you things you have to take it, because they may be offended if you don’t. Otherwise we aren’t supposed to accept things. Unfortunately I don’t work in the areas they go. LOL
@@kellbell79 That is sorta true. Most of the Arab uber rich are actually very generous folk. Yes, you will come across a douche or two, but most of em are very respectful folk.
I had a coworker who's parents wanted him to get a job so he could learn responsibility. So I always brushed him off as some loser who's parents wanted to teach him a lesson, like I thought he'd dropped out of college or something. He did good work, tho. Never got in trouble, was really helpful and respectful. So I'm standing next to him one day and his dad calls and all I can hear is the coworker's side of the convo and he's doing the "Yeah. Mhmm. Oh cool" thing that we all do with our parents. So he gets off the phone and I asked what's up and he goes "Oh nothing, my dad just wanted to tell me about the Warhol painting he just got at some auction in England." It never dawned on me that his parents had him working a menial job so he could learn what it was like to work hard for garbage wages, be treated like shit from customers, and that he should feel lucky to have everything he has. Apparently it was a family tradition started by his grandfather to teach the kids the value of the tiniest amount of money that they'd kick them out of the house for 6 months. It was even strategically planned that it didn't fall near Thanksgiving or Christmas. They DID give him a shitty car and the first month's rent on a really shitty apartment and a $100 allowance to go buy clothes at Goodwill (he wasn't allowed to take ANYTHING from the house except the crappy car (they kept it around for when it was his siblings turns), but that was it. The kids were on their own for 6 months. And thru all of that he maintained a mellow attitude and learned to budget, complained about the things we all complain about, car problems and he had to take the bus for 2 weeks until payday and he could buy the part he needed, bugs in his apartment, bad neighbors, sweating over late rent or paying a bill. Good rich parents. "Yeah, we're rich, but the kids need to know what it's like to work on minimum wage."
That is the best tradition ever... much respect for the grandfather who came up with the idea. Not only he gain wealth but to secure it for generations to come.
My father was University police for the rich kid crowd, and much of what he saw was heart breaking. Many/most of the kids were or came from, very wealthy families, but were shipped off like trash. The parents didn't want to deal with them. Dad saw a fair number of suicides, kids with major depression issues, and would often spend time just talking to them, and trying to lt them know that someone WAS there and would listen. rich doesn't always mean happy.
Yeah, it always rubs me the wrong way, when people don't grant richt people human emotions. Like, they are still human, just like anybody else. Sometimes money only gets you so far, it doesn't make all the problems in the world magically disappear.
I happily take my caring loving awsum parents who worked hard and showed me how to work hard and appreciate life then parents who buy their love for me
I knew a lady who had a net worth of $4 million. She worked every day as a police officer and never once talked about her wealth. Helped people every day. The only time she would use her money was the expensive vacations she would take and she deserved every single minute of those. A ton of money either brings out the best in people or the worst.
My dad had a boss like this. The man was a high ranking officer in the navy just to kill time and be useful to his country. He already had a fortune and donated his wages to charities.
as a former homeless for 8 months and now middle class I feel rich not having to worry where to sleep when its raining and not even about bills and regular expenses even toward the end of the month...

The woman who had her daughter’s medical bill paid for just made my heart soar. 🥺🥺🥺 I hope if I ever had that amount of money that I can do that for people.
Now, that's a very kind person. He didn't ask for anything, not even thank you! He anonymously paid the bill expecting nothing in return. Other rich people could learn from that guy/woman
Omg I love this video Charlotte!! When my cousins 3 yr old daughter was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma, we had a benefit to raise money for little Allisons care. My cousin got an envelope that said that a gentleman who was EXTREMELY WEALTHY had heard about Allison's illness and had paid ALL of her medical expenses and had put 100k into a trust for her college education. It turns out the man had lost his little girl to neuroblastoma years before and now he chooses several children every year to cover the exspensive treatments and provides them with college money. I would give anything to be able to thank that man in person. God bless him❤
My experience with Crazy Rich Person Behavior actually just happened a couple months ago. I work with glass, ie. windows, table tops, mirrors and other glass products. Well, my partner and I had to install 4 windows for this lady. Now we knew she had money because she lived in a big house. But when we were done she gave us like $800. So I told her "No mame you already paid half your bill is only (Some amount, can't remember)". She says "Oh that isn't for the bill that's your guy's tip." $400 for each of us like it was nothing. And these weren't big windows just regular sized windows and a door glass. She was the nicest lady too. Kept giving us drinks and food. We still talk about that in the shop to this day. Just throwing money around like that is a trip. And I know $400 isn't a lot but to my family and I it is.
I'm not super rich, but I also make sure a worker will get 2x his pay if he or she is a stand up person, honest and does a decent job. I know the local pay and I double it.
As a musician, I got very lucky at a pawn shop one time and bought a beautiful Gibson Grabber bass guitar for a tenth of what it would have cost at a music store. a few years later a band I was in got to open for a famous band, so I brought the good bass to the show to be cool. One of the guys in the famous band saw it and loved it, compared it to his and told me how much better mine was, and offered me what it would have cost in the store to let him have it. I said that I couldn't because it was my only good bass. At the end of the night we went to pack up and my bass was gone. And so was the interested party. Flash forward 3 years, I am in another band and we get onto a tour with that same big name band, and who do I see with my bass in his hand? You guessed it. So I walk up to him and ask very nicely for the bass back and he says "You are not talented enough to own such a beautiful instrument." So, we do our show and get off the stage. they load their gear on and start their show. As soon as he put my bass down to grab another, as the "Pros" do, I walked out on stage and grabbed my bass, made sure that he saw me, and walked off the back of the stage and out to our van and left. The look on his face is still one of my favorite memories.
Dude, that's infuriating! I would have been so upset. ☹️❤️🩹 How messed up (on his part.) I'm glad you found a way to get your bass back! Even if it took mothaluvin' THREE YEARS. 🧡💘
I just want to say that there are a lot of wealthy people out in the world who go above and beyond to help people. My family was going through a very difficult time with my eldest daughter's health and we had to relocate so she could receive her liver transplant and ongoing treatments. Although being Canadian we did not have to pay medical costs, we lost our home trying to pay for extended stays in another city. I mean literally months and months. There was one woman and her friends that heard about our troubles. They helped us with everything! They even went so far as to have my husband and myself see an awesome dentist so that we could make sure to have total good health so we could take care of our daughter without any additional worries. I will never forget the kindness that was shown to us in that dark time. I try to pay it forward every day ❤
Most rich people only gove to associations, wich is just not to pay impots, most of the money go to rich and a little go to likable people in need that will make good publicity

Women A was telling women B that her son was in the process of buying his first house but because he was young and still “struggling to find his way “ his budget was only 800K (he was 24)… women B continued by saying 800k didn’t seem like much, even for a starter house…neither of these women tipped me.

I wanted to add another awesome rich ppl story. I used to live in a tropical tourist town in Australia. There was an unassuming older couple that would holiday in our town every year and whenever they did tours or interacted with local workers the couple would really get to know them and ask them questions about their passions and big dreams. They were basically scouting for ppl they thought had potential but just needed a cash boost to get off the ground. They offered one friend of mine $20,000 to help him get his tech business idea up and running! They were lovely ppl and a bit of a legend around town.
Worked in hospital where international patients were the norm. Had 3 half-brothers come in (different mother - , their father did not have multiple wives) along with the son of the middle brother who was about the same age as my son. They only wanted the youngest brother to translate for them as he'd been educated in the U.S, plus they didnt want the International Department's translators. We coordinated appointments in my department and were supposed to rotate that job, but I loved it so much that I usually did them all. Anyway, I had a Hella time coordinating those appointments and still allowing time for the brother to be able to get from one appointment to another. Eventually, they began to just come directly to my cubicle. When I told them I was going to have to call them by their first names, they, of course, asked why. "Well," I responded, "every time is say "Mr (fill in the last name), yoy all turn to me and say 'what?'" They thought it was hilarious, and we were on first name terms thereafter. They expressed an interest in going to a large, very upscale mall to do some shopping, so I said I'd take them. Crammed all but the oldest brother into my 2-door Aries K car and off we went! Man, could they shop! Bought shoes for women in all different sizes - toddler to adult for the females in their family. One brother went to some store with his son, cand took my son along. His son wanted a particular watch, so he bought it - along with an identical watch for my son. I won't tell you how much the watch cost. Not a Rolex, but expensive enough. Had to go to a local luggage store AFTER they closed. Talked them into letting us in, telling them they needed suitcases for the shoes. Had to buy 3 or 4 30" suitcases which were barely able to hold the shoes AFTER we'd disposed of the boxes! Lots of stories about them, but about a year later, the International translator came in (someone else was on that rotation). I told him the story about the shopping spree. He asked their name and FROZE when I told him. They were frigging Saudi Arabian royalty! Most down to earth people, ever. I mean, I knew they had money, but still. He was also horrified when I told him that I'd taken them shopping in my car, as they would have ordered a town car or limo to take them. The middle brother called me from his business in Germany just to talk. I asked him about the car and everything. He told me that they only wanted the brother to translate because they didn't trust the translators to keep their mouths shut, that they didn't want attention drawn to themselves by a limo, cand that they loved being treated like people, not royalty. The son and I wrote frequently (LONG before email or texting) so he could practice his English, but then 9/11 happened, and I never heard from them again.

I will push back on your claim of "central mechanism" only to say that every system fails when the central mechanism is not based in morality. I believe that a moral based capitalism is the best vehicle to spread resources, as the concept of "allocation" requires a centralized system, which always results in amoral centralization. I can totally understand the rich Chinese girl. My mum runs a test prep company in china and has rich clients. 1) many of them are willing to pay HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of dollars for "consulting services" (note, some of them literally own skyscrapers, so chump change??) 2) The company was hosting an event in NYC. She took one of the clients out to lunch and noticed that the woman was carrying a different Birkin bag than the one she (the woman) was carrying earlier that morning. When mum asked about it, the woman said that she bought it that morning "just because" 3) One of my friends from high school (in Shanghai) had rich, but negligent parents. Instead of being parents, they'd just buy her stuff to shut her up. She now hates money and is probably the most frugal person I know.
Having worked in the hotel industry as a front desk clerk/manager for 20 years, I've met my share of famous people. The one I remember the most was Alice Cooper. He came to the front desk while waiting on his daughter to come down, so he could take her shopping. He was the most down to Earth person I've met. His first question to me was "How do you think (THE Ohio State) Buckeyes are gonna do this year?" I said we had a good shot at the National Championship (which we did win that year, in 2012). Then we got talking baseball (he's a big Diamondbacks fan). I told him my mother was a Braves fan, and in fact had the team logo tattooed on her arm. Cooper said "She has the logo tattooed on her arm?! That's weird." I never laughed so hard in my life, and my mother told that story until the day she died. :)
I’m an Uber driver and I was driving this guy and his young assistant. They were dressed like rich people and I stopped them by some fancy store for his assistant to pick something up and then took them to a nice restaurant for their drop off. They were very pleasant people but obviously not your regular joe shmoes. I have no idea what they worked in or what business this man owned for him to have an assistant that goes with him everywhere and does everything for him, but I was impressed and nervous to make this man mad. In the end he gave me a 300 dollar tip. I went home, paid my rent, and cried.
I’m a carpenter/contractor and have become friends with a very prosperous lawyer/customer and his family. One Monday morning at his home, while chatting with him before I started work, I mentioned that I had driven 500 miles the previous weekend to look at a used truck to replace my work truck. I mentioned that the truck wasn’t as represented and the trip was a waste of time/money and a waste of my weekend. He said “you should have let me know you were going and I could have flown you there in my plane”. It boggles my mind that we have become friends. We ride motorcycles together. Oh boy. I used to be a live music photojournalist. A North American band flew me out from Australia first class for a 35 state tour, paying me triple my hourly rate, giving me more "petty cash" for lunch each day than I would spend in a week. Five-star hotels. You name it. It was nothing to them. But, coming from a small town in Australia to a low income family, oh boy, Beverly Hills was some insane rich people shit. The mansions, the cars, the Botox, the dental veneers, the nose jobs... Everyone looked the same to my poor Australian ass. I have never before felt so out of place, and never since.
As someone born and raised in Los Angeles, let me tell ya Beverly hills and Bel Air are their own little worlds. Nothing like that out here in the San Fernando Valley part of Los Angeles!
@@talosheeg LA was slightly terrifying because there's so many people. My god. Hahah. But I had some good adventures in the limited time I had there. There was a lot of diversity and people had character. There was absolutely NONE of that in Beverly Hills, which was where I spent my first few days, recovering from jetlag, and it was not easy to process just how materialistic and vapid people were, on top of jetlag. In LA I was a person with something that people were interested in. In Beverly Hills I had a woman ask who did my boobs (they're natural), someone tell me I would have been prettier without a scar on my face near my hairline from a nearly fatal car accident and offered me their surgeons contact info, and someone else recommending Botox and a nose job... And I was like "cool, so, hi, I'm a person with an identity and a story to tell that my skin tells for me, and I like being able to emote because it's an important part of communication. All this might make you happy, but it's not for me. I like people being able to know 'yep, that is definitely Kati' from more than 6ft away". With a bit of mental preparation I could handle LA again, but never in my lifetime to I want to be in Beverly Hills again.
I used to work at Home Depot, before I retired. I had a customer there, who now 52 decided it was time to retire, selling off his 4 store chain of hair salons ... netting him a profit of 4 or 5 million dollars. He had a lot of investments as well, so lets say he wasn't hurting or needing social security to live on. He seemed to be a bit of a snob, but I was used to that attitude, as my store was on the border of Scottsdale. One day he overheard a customer talking to an employee, talking about the gas prices being so high (back a few years ago, when they were about at todays prices.) He turned to me and said ... "I like the high gas prices, in fact I'd like to see them hit seven, eight even ten dollars a gallon!" Shocked, I asked why. He said "That way it would clean up the roads and I wouldn't have to fight so much traffic." Apparently driving his new Cadillac Escalade, he didn't realize that those people who helped him at Home Depot, served him his meals at the local restaurant, etc ... make up a large part of that traffic he has to fight.
I guess he doesn't intend on funding a local network of public transportation or building affordable housing near the city center? That would "clear up the streets".
My mother past during the COVID and I literally got made redundant a few months later, I had no help with cost of the funeral as my brother and father had also past away and at this stage no money to cover the funeral. My mother lived at a seaside resort, was never raised by her. I found a priest to cover my mother’s service, used all my redundancy money but it still wasn’t enough, I asked the funeral service if I could pay instalments-they said they would send me an invoice a few weeks later I received the invoice, I gave them a call to set up my first payment and the person in charge turned around and said the account is close you don’t need to pay anymore money and wished me luck for the future. 😊

7:09 I've done this before for the woman in front of me at the medical clinic. She made a $20 payment and had $100 left on her balance, so after she walked out the door I asked to pay it off. They couldn't give me a receipt for it, but I'm pretty sure the girl behind the desk didn't rip me off. I've had fantasies since I was a teen of helping those in need, I was going to be so rich I could build a tiny home city in each major city across America, complete with their own free Medical/Dental/Therapy clinics, as well as reduced cost gas stations, grocery stores, and clothing outlets. Maybe someday I can help people in the same way, until our country pulls itself together and starts offering medical insurance to all.

I don't care for the rich thing, but being financially sound to just be able to pay the corresponding professionals to do sh*t for me instead of trying to navigate adulthood would be marvellous, like, having an actual accountant to take care of taxes and dealing with the different governmental offices that I currently have to deal with because I'm too poor to delegate.
I recently had some stupid paperwork to do and was thinking about this! Some people can afford to go around their day and any mundane struggle they can get, can pay someone to deal with it, save the time and energy for something else.

Regarding the 1000 pounds for good grades, I got a similar story, except I grew up poor.. but my mom really wanted to encourage good grades. So she would pay me $100 every time I got straight A's on my report card every quarter. For every B, I would get $20 deducted. So I ended up getting straight A's as often as I could. This resulted in me getting full-ride scholarships to university and having an amazing career.
I’m so happy to see your comment. I’ve been thinking of this for my son, but genuinely didn’t know if it was a great idea or absolutely asinine. He’s always gotten A’s, always tested 3-4 grades higher, but now he’s in middle school and between the teenage angst, finding socializing higher of an importance, as well as frustration with some of the teachers and not challenging the kids, he’s found school work less important. Luckily he’s still A’s and B’s, but I don’t want it to continue that direction. Long babble short, I can’t afford $1000 or $100 an A, but a flat sum for all A’s is totally doable. Thank you for posting.
I'm childfree and doing this for my 7 y/o grand niece. (Shhhh, don't tell.) I saved a portion of my paycheck with the idea of flying her and her parents out to visit me in Spain. They couldn't visit last year so I started a UTMA account for her. I'm not going to TELL her I'm going to pay her for her grades (so she's not pressured and can have fun growing up) and will add money into this account every report card. Probably based on GPA (4.0 = $400). By the time she's 18 or 21 she'll have a nice little sum all in her name. Still saving with hopes they can visit before I move back to the States next summer.

He told me about his first fiancée right out of college and she is an heiress (her name is very recognizable). He said it would have never worked out because she was oily. I didn’t understand - like, was she shady or what? Nope. She didn’t work because she didn’t have to, and she flew all over the world fairly regularly collecting perfume oils, plant extracts and oils, and essential oils. She had custom Arabian oils and cosmetics, Parisian and Italian perfumes, and all kinds of stuff. She would have breakfast every morning and then start rubbing oils into every inch of her body from scalp to toe. He said her skin was so soft that it was spongy and he began to dread touching her. Yikes! BTW, she DID end up marrying an old money guy and having a couple of kids. I googled her a while back and her skin looks AMAZING. She’s my mom’s age and she looks my age. I bet she smells heavenly.
I worked at a 5 diamond restaurant, and we had once a Japanese guy with a famous Japanese last name (related to cars), he ordered every main dish, side dish, appetizer, and dessert on the menu. The most expensive wine and champagne we had. He just had one or two bites of each thing. And two glasses. He calmly paid an astronomical Bill and left a very generous tip to all of us.
As long as the check didn't bounce, it's not a waste of money, is it? If people with lots of money didn't ever spend it, the whole world would have even less money.
@@bettyfkrocker2705 I would do the same. My cousins think I'm weird when I put on my plate a little bit of everything and combine weird food like corndog with whip cream :))
I come a privileged background. Was raised well (as in appreciate & be aware of what you have and make sure your wealth is for quality and quantity etc). I went to some of the most expensive boarding schools, had friends who went to the most expensive. And I cannot say enough it’s just so exhausting to see people flash around like that, and it’s always the ones who didn’t earn it as well (ie the kids or those who inherited / stole it). It’s really not a flex to be rich, it’s something that should help you live a better life. My man, you can buy many things but not being a shallow asshole and lacking personality isn’t one on the list.
Sounded like the money in the pool was a cry for help. The person that paid the child's hospital bill is an amazing example of what all people with exorbent amounts should do. Also I felt sorry for the girl with the uber rich parents. Goes to show that haveing lots of money is not always good I guess...
I worked as housekeeper in one of most expensive hotels in my city. Once there was a customer who rented one whole floor (~20 rooms, some of which were suites) for himself for about 10 days. He travelled alone, every night slept in different room(sometimes single bedrooms and sometimes suites) and even when he slept in suites with double beds he had carefully folded bedspread in middle so he used only half of bed (didn't obviously matter to me, I just found it strange) and only used one persons commodities (2 bottles of water, only one used etc). He always had hauled his own luggage to next random room on that floor before I arrived to work, and during his stay I saw him only twice (both times from back), neither time he answered to my greeting.
This video reminded me of how glad I am that I grew up with loving parents. We weren't rich monetarily, though we were better off than some. I'm very thankful that they have always been involved in my life. My mother used to work for some insanely rich people and her stories always made me think that perhaps being rich is more trouble than it's worth. Of course, I've had the odd daydream about what I would do if I was insanely wealthy, but at least right now I know that nobody is going to suck up to me for money. That and money can't buy love, health, or happiness.
7:00 You can’t tell someone what to do with their money, but you can be disappointed. I can’t believe the money thrown away in some of these other stories compared to how *little* would affect an entire life.
Sweet Charlotte, you ARE rich. Maybe not monetarily (which is what you and most of us "peasants" desire lol) but in the ways that mean much more than money can buy. Cheers!❤
ok, so the story of the mom with the hospital bill...that hit so hard! i have 3 kids and my biggest fear is one of them getting life threateningly ill. my second biggest fear is that said illness will put us into huge debt. bless the rich stranger who felt such compassion to use their wealth to help others.
That's my greatest fear too; me or a family member getting gravely ill. I guess we will have to relocate to under a bridge based on our current financial status.
I’m still paying off my hospital bill from 2018 when lack of proper insurance forced me to regularly choose between my rent, or my insulin. All my food was through work. Mcdonalds. And those ‘meals’ were more like snacks. That’s how I was trying to live. My body went into catastrophic survival mode. Thank the stars for my roommate who called an ambulance, and made sure I was wearing my MedicAlert bracelet! Now I am able to buy insulin, and food, and pay rent… but I have this nice 2mm scar from 41cm of tubing in my arm and chest to remind me that almost dying is terrifying!
Charlotte, when I say you saved my life, I'm not exaggerating. I drove 500 miles the other day after visiting my mother who I hadn't seen in a year. I left home at 2100 and drove through the night to see my partner in Cornwall UK (9 hours drive) before being deployed for Christmas. Your videos played for about 6 hours and kept me awake. You're amazing and I hope your Dad gets his boat. 👍
Hi Charlotte, I love drinking a huge cup of coffee and watching your video. I have 4 kids so when you post a video I give myself a small break to go get my coffee and watch you 🧡
Hahahahahaha I worked with Orissa for the prince except she remembers wrong, we were in Mauritius and everything is exactly as she says! We spent the rest of the week getting pampered in a 5 star resort that was reserved for just us - all 100 of us working for him 😂
BFF in high school was rich but unaware of it. Her dad had a small plane in their garage. But so did everyone else in her neighborhood. 🤣 also in the garage was a '33 Chevy Coupe, jaguar, Lincoln Towncar, Studebaker and I can't remember the other car. His work truck was in the driveway. She really was a sweet and genuine person. Her parents were pretty awesome.
17 000 dollars for a child, for emergency handling for something that is life threatening and out of anyone's control... And people still think the USA is the greatest country 🤦
This! I have a chronic illness, I go without my necessary treatments and RX regularly because otherwise I wouldn’t be able to eat or have a home. It’s insane that necessary medical can bankrupt you here in the US, I’m pretty close.
@@thankyouforincorrectingme i cannot even express how sad this is and I am very sorry that you are in this situation. You would simply get the treatment in Europe as per your needs and paid by universal health insurance, sure it means you pay higher tax for something that if you are lucky, you might never need... And yet, we are still living generally on higher living standards. So the higher tax is not the problem.
@@VagabondTurtle Thank you for your kind and understanding words. My Omi had dual citizenship and went back to Germany when she was diagnosed with cancer, if she had the treatment here she and my Opa would have lost everything. Choosing between health and bankruptcy, your child’s life saving treatments or bankruptcy… it is insanity. As long as private healthcare is the money maker that it is and as long as they line the pockets of the politicians, it won’t change. We pay so much in taxes as it is, the difference would make up for itself in no time…. majority of us agree, 7 out of 10 US voters want Universal Healthcare. When most GoFundMe’s are due to people NEEDING a medical procedure, surgery, chemo, etc… you know something is wrong. Like another commenter stated, I guess all I need to do is move to another country, move my child, leave everything I’ve known, my family, and everything I’ve worked for, instead of fight for change? That sounds logical. Lol The ignorance is thick with many in this country. Thank you again for your kind words. I hope this finds you having a happy 2022.
I broke my back 2 years ago. Medical bills without insurance would have cost $300,000. Still had to pay $40,000 out of pocket. Getting Healthcare in another country wasn't an option I had to have emergency surgery twice.
one time a guy asked a co-worker to order him a bus. offered increasing amounts of money when co-worker looked at him blankly, until i explained that buses don't work like taxis, nor that we could hire a personal bus..... He LITERALLY had absolutely no idea how public transport functioned!?!
@@CarinaCoffee When I went to Paris and Madrid in grade 11 (or 12) (YEARS ago) for a school March Break trip we had a big tour bus drive us around. It was great and the driver was GOOD. He drove that bus through places I didn't think the bus could fit through.
i don’t know anyone personally who is insanely rich but (to me at least) my grandmother was in spirit. She grew up in Kentucky, was born into a family that was incredibly poor, but her attitude was always so positive and she never had a bad attitude about anything; she was always kind and tried to stay happy even when she wasn’t feeling her best. I miss her so very much.
The mattress story is insane. Now every time I see one thrown out I’m gonna wonder if it’s worth 5 grand. When I was in college, I met a girl who had recently inherited close to 100 grand. She blew through it within in one semester as she was spending like crazy and was really trying to show off her wealth. Well, once the money was gone it was gone and she she had no back up and then had to go and get a job.
I was a receptionist at a vet clinic in a notoriously affluent mountain town. Two of our clients were a major celebrity couple who lived there part time (I think people can figure it out based on that info lol but 🤫 cause I'm about to spill the boiling hot tea). The woman specifically was one of the WORST pet owners I witnessed. One of her doggos had a benign tumor bigger than his face ON his face (I know 😥), and despite being a damn rich celebrity with endless cash, she refused to pay approximately $700 to have it removed solely for the dog's comfort and quality of life. She made him live his life with it. So incredibly selfish. I know the alias she uses though so I feel a bit of power over her that makes me feel slightly (barely) better. 😂 ...but here's a palate cleanser: there was this lovely older couple who weren't famous, just very rich, who absolutely adored their doggo more than anything, so they were constantly coming in to get her checked up on, treated for things, groomed, kenneled, etc. I was stunned when Christmas rolled around and they stopped by with gifts for us -- even me, the mere receptionist lol -- they bought me an extremely expensive silk scarf that remains one of the nicest things I've ever owned in my life and I am so careful with it! The fact that they THOUGHT OF *ME* when they were Christmas shopping just blew my mind. So sweet. Another sweet rich lady who was in quite a bit for the kennel brought us all VERY expensive Hawaiian coffee once, I made it last as long as I could and it was the best coffee I've ever tasted without contest. 😱 in general? The rich folk we dealt with were usually very kind, down to earth, genuine people who truly appreciated what they had and tried to help the world be better. 🥰
That Best Buy guy reminded me of a rich person experience I had while working there. We have someone from my town that became a huge NFL star. He played for a team a couple states away and had just won the Super Bowl a few weeks prior to this. I worked in the Geek Squad and we sometimes ended up ringing up the computer dept sales, so they had me ring this guy up. He was buying an all new iMac, an Xbox, and a bunch of games because he didn’t feel like bringing his other stuff back with him from his other house. I worked there three years to be able to afford a flat screen tv, so that was mind boggling to me. Thankfully he was actually super nice because I’m a creature of habit and asked to see his ID (since his credit card wasn’t signed and that was policy). It was very obvious who he was since all the managers essentially escorted him around the place and people kept coming up for autographs.
So again I've been laughing for 10min at the guy who said he thought he was walking to the house and the owner of the cats said "no that's my parking structure"🤣😭
Congratulations on the house. I was able to buy my house from Amazon indie sales on my book. I heard it was impossible to sell enough books on Amazon so when it happened to me, I cried. I am so happy you get to experience this feeling. You always crank out the videos daily! I look forward to them.
I love how the anonymous person donated 17 thou for the moms daughter's medical bill...Although if America (USA) had free healthcare the mom wouldn't even have a bill to begin with....Glad the mom is paying it forward...that's truly nice as well.😁
American health care is all about the money. Your treatment depends on how much can you pay. Hospital bills can put people in long-term depth. That's sad.

I went to high school in south central Nebraska then worked there for a while. A class mate of mine worked in the office where I did and I wondered why cuz her family truly is one of the wealthiest in that part of the state. She said she got bored just traveling. My supervisor was from California and asked her, since she knew a lot of places, did she know a good Chinese restaurant? She thought for a minute and said “There is a really good one in Dallas that you can fly to in a couple hours.”
Trying to figure out why peripheral people, not Mom or Dad, got themselves bumped off. Maybe they did in that cable guy who didn't put in the routers to the main house properly.
imagine this, your friend gets a girlfriend and you ask her what she does for work and she says "im a mermaid who hangs out with people who order the most expensive wine" not the answer anyone expected
That would make for an interesting job on a resume/CV and on a Tinder (or other dating apps/website) bio. I wonder how many swipe rights (I think, I don't know, I'm not on dating apps - the "I'm interested in you" swipe) one would get with that in their bio.
Yooo I think the second girl was on this reality tv show and she showed off her acrobatic skills and archery skills BY SHOOTING THE ARROW WITH HER FEET while doing a handstand. No wonder she got paid and got an amazing vacation 😳
I always love a positive story Charlotte. Yet here I am disabled and on low disability income of only$1400 per month and I usually get treated like crap but I keep a positive attitude and I keep my sense of humor. Much love to you my sweet Canadian friend and congratulations on your new home.
I asked an associate what the menu at Augusta National (Golf Club - him as a guest) was like and he said " there's no menu ... you just tell the waiter what you want ." That hit me pretty hard as to the different reality's people live .
That game designer was pretty cool too. It sounded like he could afford to live any way he liked, maybe have his own company where he did nothing all day. Instead he chose to be a hard working employee. Even if it was just a hobby to him, he was at least being useful to someone, unlike most of the others on this list.
@@AmandaVieiraMamaesouCult Why? Just because his family has money doesn't automatically mean he would be a good boss/businessman. I had an older fella overhear me talking about my car payment to one of the other servers. He tipped me the amount, two hundred dollars. When I told him I couldn't possibly accept that tip he went on to tip another two servers one hundred each and the bouncer as well! When he asked me if I could accept it now I said, " Yes sir! And thank you very much"! At that time it meant the world to me because ha was truly just trying to help me out. And I pay it forward every chance I get.
Some years ago in a high class bar/club I was waiting to order a drink when I noticed a bundle of notes on the floor, 2000 euros, I tapped on the shoulder of the man in front of me to ask him if it was his ( yup how dumb is that ) and he looked horrified, said that he never used money and had some black and platinium credit cards, he told me to keep it ( I did) as if I asked around everyone would claim it. He then introduced me to his gang, bought me drinks and we ended up in another nightclub, it was a cool night, the group were all millionaires or billionaires, having invented patents for several surgical proceedures and machines.

Oh my Goodness this makes me think of Will Farrel in the movie "Get Hard" when the father-in-law to be asked him to be his business partner or whatever and says they're going to be so rich and I mean they are both already so rich and Will Ferrell says something like " I'll buy an island right next to your private island and we can be island Neighbors! I worked at a coffee shop in LA and this lady ordered a latte while holding a chihuahua that had a diamond collar on, I make the latte and give it to her, She sipped it and screamed “NO THIS TASTE LIKE COFFEE” and starts pouring it all over the counter, I remain calm and tell her “miss, you ordered a latte which is coffee, would you prefer tea instead?” She called me an idiot and told me “no I want a latte that doesn’t taste like coffee” and then she just left… I still have no idea what she was expecting lol
I once worked for a company that would credit check and reference people for estate agents. I did a few celebrities but it wasn't them that blew my mind. No, it was the guy who was being referenced to rent a property for £16,000 PER MONTH! At the time I didn't know anyone that earned that in a year. I realised that what this person was spending on one months rent could feed and house a family for a year!
A million years ago when I was doing some part-time modeling in Toronto while I was attending university, I was asked to work an in-store modeling gig. Basically I walked around this very high end store wearing the designer clothes. The owner told me he would occasionally shut down the store when Saudi princesses were in town and they would buy all kinds of fur coats (I told you it was a long time ago!) I thought it was strange considering the climate where they lived was hot. The owner told me they would get together with their coats on and turn the AC way up.
I'm going to slice and dice this into two groups. The first is where the wealthy people were decent to people while tossing money around, and the other half where they were self-important jerks. I mean, if a guy wants to spend $20 million on a party, bails out after two days, but pays the bills, I'm fine with it. A guy throwing credit cards at a guy who probably just followed company policy informing customers about their house brand is just obnoxious. Treat people with respect.
When I was a kid my dad did work for these rich families (building summer homes, fancy boathouse etc) I became friends with one of the rich daughters...I went to her "house" (mansion) once and she had an indoor swimming pool in her private wing of the house...you opened a door in her huge walk-in closet and there was a water slide directly down to the pool. She also had her own bathroom that was bigger than my bedroom. They even had a 12 seat movie theater and a roller skating rink in their house. Not out of place for a rich city, but this was located in a small town of less than 300 people. It is in the Muskoka region so lots of rich people vacation homes. I've even seen Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell and their kids when I was younger.
Okay, mine would be that I was unable to recharge data packs during the Pandemic coz we had no money to spare for it. And i couldn't attend any of my online classes because of that. And this girl in my class, we are not in the same friend group, she was with that popular kids group, out of nowhere called me, asking me why I wasn't attending classes. I said it's coz I couldn't pay my data bills. So then she just up and goes and pays my data bills for the next 4-5 months. She said she saw that I have so much potential and she didn't want me to skip classes. Also also, she told to keep quiet about this. Not to tell anyone. I was literally shocked at her, coz she was always the rich popular girl with her group that kept to their own popular group world. She was generally a nice person, but I didn't know she was this kind! I was crying, literally and I said I'm grateful and would one day pay her back, which she declined. She said, "if I help someone, God will be giving back the money I spend in one way or the other". I love you, Lubina. God bless you!
Charlotte, Congrats on the house. I hope you love it. When I bought my house last year, it had been my main goal in life, and after I felt aimless. It's kind of an awkward time. If this happens to you, I want to say, don't feel regret or anything like that, keep going!
That's really awesome!
I’ve heard that at the hospital system that I work for, if one of the rich Arab patients that come there offer you things you have to take it, because they may be offended if you don’t. Otherwise we aren’t supposed to accept things. Unfortunately I don’t work in the areas they go. LOL

I would take that ring anyway, no one has to know 😉
I had a coworker who's parents wanted him to get a job so he could learn responsibility.
Amazing parenting!! I'd hope I'd do the same if I ever became crazy rich..
That is the best tradition ever... much respect for the grandfather who came up with the idea. Not only he gain wealth but to secure it for generations to come.
See, now that's how you do it.
Out of curiosity how old was the guy
He didn’t sweat it or complain cuz he knew he could return back home after the six months.. there was a means to an end for him
My father was University police for the rich kid crowd, and much of what he saw was heart breaking.
Yes, how is it their fault that they were born into rich families ?
Yeah.. Rich doesn't always mean happy but sure would make me happier!!!! :'D
For sure money isn't everything. But it definitely makes life easier on a basic needs level.

Makes me glad to know not all rich people are mean 😭
$400 can mean the difference between having a place to live and being homeless.
unlike the credit card guy ..
I'm not super rich, but I also make sure a worker will get 2x his pay if he or she is a stand up person, honest and does a decent job. I know the local pay and I double it.
The only acceptable way to act so rich that you can throw it around - give it to someone who works hard and would really appreciate it.
So I walk up to him and ask very nicely for the bass back and he says "You are not talented enough to own such a beautiful instrument."
So, we do our show and get off the stage. they load their gear on and start their show. As soon as he put my bass down to grab another, as the "Pros" do, I walked out on stage and grabbed my bass, made sure that he saw me, and walked off the back of the stage and out to our van and left.
The look on his face is still one of my favorite memories.

Worked at a country club as a bartender a few years ago. Overheard a conversation between two older women who I was serving. They were discussing women A’s son who had just gotten married. Women A was telling women B that her son was in the process of buying his first house but because he was young and still “struggling to find his way “ his budget was only 800K (he was 24)… women B continued by saying 800k didn’t seem like much, even for a starter house…neither of these women tipped me.
Of course they didn't. 🤦♀️ This story is why so many people want to eat the rich. Such an absurd disconnect with reality.

Yooo that's awesome!!!
People throwing away money while family’s live on the street and have nothing to eat makes me sick..

@@TheFloridaStig silly silly. Side effect of immorality. No system has ever worked under it. PS- lindy there wouldn't trade places ever. Don't be confused.

@@TheFloridaStig Thanks for the response and call out, as I'm sure you are aware, many anti-capital sentiments are followed by a belief in systems which also fail. Thus the response.

1) many of them are willing to pay HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of dollars for "consulting services" (note, some of them literally own skyscrapers, so chump change??)

Goes to show that everyone has their "Boggle Limit". Even Alice Cooper. 🤣

He’s the smartest person I’ve ever met.....and he treats me with friendship and respect. Dave Heitman

What is the gas prices for you tho? (I don't live in america so i genuinely don't know)

I’m sorry for the loss of your mother, but I’m glad things got taken care of.

My mother’s third husband (🙄) was raised in MONEY. (His mother’s family are the namesake of a very prestigious university.) He was… kinda salt of the earth… to say the least, so he really didn’t fit in with his family. Yikes!

People are Strange.
Cheers!❤
Well she makes enough money now that she just bought a house! So she's doing well for herself
I was gonna say this.
YESS!!
Amen!!!!
ok, so the story of the mom with the hospital bill...that hit so hard!
i have 3 kids and my biggest fear is one of them getting life threateningly ill. my second biggest fear is that said illness will put us into huge debt.
bless the rich stranger who felt such compassion to use their wealth to help others.
don't put that thought in the ether - kill it as soon as it pops up
That's my greatest fear too; me or a family member getting gravely ill. I guess we will have to relocate to under a bridge based on our current financial status.
I have never EVER had that financial fear - because I live in a country with universal healthcare.
Lmaooo i guess it's only classy if a rich person gets a party house.
Where I grew up, it was called a "trap house" 😂☠️
LMAO ditto
Hi Charlotte, I love drinking a huge cup of coffee and watching your video. I have 4 kids so when you post a video I give myself a small break to go get my coffee and watch you 🧡
Hahahahahaha I worked with Orissa for the prince except she remembers wrong, we were in Mauritius and everything is exactly as she says! We spent the rest of the week getting pampered in a 5 star resort that was reserved for just us - all 100 of us working for him 😂
As someone who lives in a country with over 30% of population under the “poverty” line, this is not even funny 😕
Same, in my country the average salary is $300 USD per month, imagine our poverty rate. This is just sad.
I was between laughing or crying
I agree quite sad they could help so many but throw it all away on useless things.
Brazilian here, we're literally dying from hunger, this video made me even sadder
and 5 mins in space could help feel so many people, yet Bezos does it. So annoying
@@Marly123
Lol
The ignorance is thick with many in this country.
With enough money I am sure you CAN order a bus though.
i don’t know anyone personally who is insanely rich but (to me at least) my grandmother was in spirit. She grew up in Kentucky, was born into a family that was incredibly poor, but her attitude was always so positive and she never had a bad attitude about anything; she was always kind and tried to stay happy even when she wasn’t feeling her best. I miss her so very much.
What a lovely comment. I'm sorry for your loss though. Your grandmother must have been a wonderful person.
"Hey everyone welcome back" always makes my morning!
...but here's a palate cleanser: there was this lovely older couple who weren't famous, just very rich, who absolutely adored their doggo more than anything, so they were constantly coming in to get her checked up on, treated for things, groomed, kenneled, etc. 🥰
My parents' divorce resulted in a few murders.... and a Ponzi Scheme."
as they tend to do!
Seriously laughing at that combination.
Poor girl.
The person who paid the hospital bill anonymously (if that's true) is the best use of a rich person's excess money. More of this please!
That's sad.
It would never truly be free. Our taxes would sky rocket.
@@sunflowerbaby1853 Yep.
@@sunflowerbaby1853 taking into account that taxes would be tackeled to the household/ person, I think its still fairer than having a big part of the population not being able to heal themselves.
@@sunflowerbaby1853 ppl always say that bur it really wouldn't, we already pay for Medicare, which is Healthcare that I can't have since I have a job that pays me, I have to get other insurance that costs 75 more dollars a month. I would really rather not have to maintain other health insurance
Are we just gonna gloss over the fact that the girls parents divorce caused a few MURDERS?! XD
Trying to figure out why peripheral people, not Mom or Dad, got themselves bumped off. Maybe they did in that cable guy who didn't put in the routers to the main house properly.
Asian mafia is huge, and I could see the power plays and disruptions a divorce would cause having all sorts of side effects.
Welcome to the Triads...
Happy her daughter made a full recovery. 💝🙏💝 prayers for your family.
imagine this, your friend gets a girlfriend and you ask her what she does for work and she says "im a mermaid who hangs out with people who order the most expensive wine" not the answer anyone expected
That would make for an interesting job on a resume/CV and on a Tinder (or other dating apps/website) bio. I wonder how many swipe rights (I think, I don't know, I'm not on dating apps - the "I'm interested in you" swipe) one would get with that in their bio.
The 'party house' is genius! No having to book ahead for a hall or whatever, it's all set up. And scalable- it doesn't need to be a mansion :)
Yooo I think the second girl was on this reality tv show and she showed off her acrobatic skills and archery skills BY SHOOTING THE ARROW WITH HER FEET while doing a handstand. No wonder she got paid and got an amazing vacation 😳
I think the creepy old dude throwing money in the pool just wanted the girls to jump in 🤷♀️
I wish you'd been at the party - they were too dumb to catch on n we had to get new girls - we just threw the others in the shredder
Meh, I'd have done it. I got no pride holding me back and a rent bill for encouragement
I would have heeved him into the pool to go get it. XD
If the young women didn't jump in for it, that was a great tip for the pool cleaner!
I always love a positive story Charlotte. Yet here I am disabled and on low disability income of only$1400 per month and I usually get treated like crap but I keep a positive attitude and I keep my sense of humor. Much love to you my sweet Canadian friend and congratulations on your new home.
Charlotte: "I hung out with models but I'm not a model"
umm yes you are!... 👁👄👁 you humble beautiful queen
Sooooo happy for your new home and new chapter! Absolute Goddess
I asked an associate what the menu at Augusta National (Golf Club - him as a guest) was like and he said " there's no menu ... you just tell the waiter what you want ." That hit me pretty hard as to the different reality's people live .
The only part about these stories that wasn’t sickening, was the lady who had her daughter’s medical bills paid.
We should have ended on that one tbh. At least then, we wouldn't have to spend the rest of the day mad
Well also the prince who still paid people even though he cancelled the party seemed at least somewhat nice
That game designer was pretty cool too.
It sounded like he could afford to live any way he liked, maybe have his own company where he did nothing all day.
Instead he chose to be a hard working employee. Even if it was just a hobby to him, he was at least being useful to someone, unlike most of the others on this list.
@@117thWing yeah, but he is kinda taking the spot from someone who actually needs the job... He should create his own company.
@@AmandaVieiraMamaesouCult Why? Just because his family has money doesn't automatically mean he would be a good boss/businessman. People are angry when kids of rich parents don't work and now we are going to be angry at a rich kid trying to work his way up without the help of his parents money? TF..
Maybe every rich person (rich rich) is sort of in the “wealthy mafia”. They just live by different rules.
Yes there are def hidden rules of different class. You only typically know the rules of your own class as that's what you know.
And at the end of that night the entire 2000 euros were spent, I'm sure. 🤪
@@bosoerjadi2838 Actually no, they wouldn't allow me to pay for anything. It went on bills, I am not rich, just selective about where I hang out, places where cheesy guys won't hit on me and places I can walk home from afterwards.
That's actually super smart, and if they were inventors, then they wouldn't also be the dumbest people the be around. If somebody can make so much money with their brain, I respect that.
I could swim over to your Island to ask you to borrow a cup of gold" 😂
I have to watch these twice. Once to watch the story and then again just to watch Charlotte's reactions 😆
I works at Cedars Sinai hospital in L. A. This guy's husband was discharging from the hospital and needed a wheelchair. When I gave it to his husband, he said "Do you expect me to put this wheelchair in a $150,000 car?" Without missing a beat in the most sarcastic tone I could muster said "Sir, it will fit in any car no matter how much the car costs"😂
5:10 I’d be terrified to be around people who feel they can basically buy and sell people 😩.
The fact that a single hospital bill for the poor little girl came to $17,000 bummed me out more than any of the rich people antics by far.
I worked at a coffee shop in LA and this lady ordered a latte while holding a chihuahua that had a diamond collar on, I make the latte and give it to her,
She sipped it and screamed “NO THIS TASTE LIKE COFFEE” and starts pouring it all over the counter, I remain calm and tell her “miss, you ordered a latte which is coffee, would you prefer tea instead?” She called me an idiot and told me “no I want a latte that doesn’t taste like coffee” and then she just left… I still have no idea what she was expecting lol
The story about the doctor and medical bill made me freaking cry. That's seriously amazing
The closing with the Defunk collab, so nice 👌
Charlotte dear, Whatever you're doing with your hair these days is freaking fabulous. Keep on slaying. You're doing it with so much style.
