Get the recipe on my blog at annievang.com/hmong-eggrolls How to make Hmong style eggrolls. This is a very basic recipe and very simple to make! All you need are a few ingredients.
It doesn't matter if the noodles are too much you want a meat eggrolls then put more meat instead of bring it down. Why can't you people comment constructive comments like nice decent people instead of always trying to bring ppl down -_-
There are many different types of Eggrolls in which originated from China. We Hmong are originally FROM China. Every family's got their own special recipe.
@SHENGGGX3 Hi, thanks for your feedback. Most of the food on this channel are influenced by other cultures. I wanted to focus on the food of my era and what is a common dish at other Hmong houses. I called it Hmong eggrolls because this is how we typically make it, I'm not saying we invented it. I value your opinion and it is very valid :-) Thank you.
I LOVE some Hmong style eggrolls! My Hmong girlfriend back in the day in Minneapolis showed me how to make these. So delicious and I love cooking them for my own family. I really like your recipe too! Its so easy and delicious! Could you share some more dipping sauce recipes/ideas? YUMMY!
@maiphuonglinh Yes Linh! All my videos were recorded on my iPhone 4S. I also edit using iMovie app, super easy and simple. I also love Vietnamese style eggrolls too... so Good!!!!!
OMG, these look so Yummy. i never seen them with the noodles before, i bet they are so good! never tired to do them before, but now i want to! Thanks for sharing!
I'm German/American, but I grew up in a city with a huge hmong population, I miss this food so much I'm going to attempt to make my own in Texas, I can't find anything like the hmong delis and markets that I grew up with in Minnesota 😂
Hi there! I LOVE LOVE LOVE Hmong egg rolls! I will be using your tutorial video and I was curious, are you suppose to cook the pork before packing the egg roll??
Hey Annie, thank you so much for showing this video to those who never know how to make egg rolls. I learned from your video. And you are absolutely right? There is no right or wrong to make egg rolls. Mahalo sister!
I like your recipe,Annie, I am gonna try it myself 'coz I am buying it cooked but not really satisfied, of course, home made is much better, Keep up the the good work, Thanks!
@Maiseefue I hope you make some today! I haven't had eggrolls in a long time either. It was good. My brother makes a really good pepper sauce for the eggrolls. I'll have to ask him to share his recipe with us.
Looks good... Interesting too... I never saw one with vermicelli noodles... Mine always ends up getting burnt little bit because I don't put much veggies. Mostly meat-- more moisture it creates I believe and opens up in parts... Would like to try it with veggies and noodles next time...
Yes you can. I don't cook mine because I don't add a lot of meat. But if you want, you can cook your meat until its slightly brown but not cooked all the way through.
These look so delicious! Can they be fried and then frozen? Or should they be frozen and thawed before frying? I'm thinking about the pork in them, also that the recipe makes quite a number of them. Excellent presentation; thank you.
One benefit to frying and then freezing is you only need to fry a batch of eggrolls one time, rather than having to fry eggrolls EVERY time you want them for a meal (gets kind of messy). My family fried them and would freeze them so all we needed to do was heat them up in the oven.
Anthony Ricamara you can but you don't want to leave it in the freezer too long. Longest I leave my egg rolls in the freezer is about 2-3 weeks only because it can get frost bites easily. You also don't want to take it out and refreeze it again cause it will cause the egg rolls to become soggy and nasty. Plus fresh egg rolls taste better to ;)
Annie, Congratulations! Love it. Cannot wait to try it at home. :) By the way don't listen to stupid comments. People just don't have anything better to do or say.
I LOVE Hmong egg rolls! This looks like a great recipe or at least a great base if you wanted to change it up some! I have a few questions can you roll these these ahead of time and fry later like the next day? also can you freeze them raw and fry at a later date? If you need to fry before freezing how do you get the crunch back do you refry or will they crisp back up in the microwave?
you can freeze them (but freeze well) before frying them. I've done this to make multiples for fundraising. if you fry it then freeze then fry, it isn't crunchy (from my experience).
It doesn't matter if the noodles are too much you want a meat eggrolls then put more meat instead of bring it down. Why can't you people comment constructive comments like nice decent people instead of always trying to bring ppl down -_-
bill xiong I like less meat in mine like this too. But I agree with you.
Because people will always focus on bad not good but you are correct
Amen!

You are awesome, Annie! Because of your video I was able to make egg rolls.
Instead of having to shred your cabbage and carrots, you can buy the coleslaw bag mix and use that. Cuts your time in half.

Spring rolls my 1st choice too. But these westerners permanent screw head didn't even know how to like to eat the rice noodle in it.
mmmmm!!! my mouth was watering while watching this!
what kind of oil you used for deep frying Annie? just curious
Yum
Haha very cool
These look so delicious! Can they be fried and then frozen? Or should they be frozen and thawed before frying? I'm thinking about the pork in them, also that the recipe makes quite a number of them. Excellent presentation; thank you.
Don't fry and then freeze! Freeze and then fry. :) No need to thaw cause then it'll make the eggroll soggy.
One benefit to frying and then freezing is you only need to fry a batch of eggrolls one time, rather than having to fry eggrolls EVERY time you want them for a meal (gets kind of messy). My family fried them and would freeze them so all we needed to do was heat them up in the oven.
***** Thank you!
can you freeze any uncooked eggrolls?
Anthony Ricamara you can but you don't want to leave it in the freezer too long. Longest I leave my egg rolls in the freezer is about 2-3 weeks only because it can get frost bites easily. I love my eggrolls crunchy even the next day. I don't freeze mine. I reheat by toaster oven or In the toaster. It's crunchy then!
I have the exact same plate u use to roll the egg-rolls on and my name is Annie too!!!
how do you freeze? do you have to fry them before?
