Very nice video! Good call on using the polyfill. I use that in all my baords. On my alu boards I like to take out all the foams, no tape mod and just use polyfill. It allows a clacky sound without the the keyboard sounding hollow.
@@LuckyCircleMetal Glad you liked the idea! I like doing that because it´s cheap and very easy to do. It gets rid of the ping and hollowness without changing the sound of your switches.
Brilliant! I streamed building my barebones Galaxy 80 last week. I used KTT Blues and some cutsie keycaps I found online. I'm planning on modding, but havn't got around to it yet 😊
So I purchased one of these used from Amazon. DO NOT do that. Two channels were burned out on 'H' and one was burned out on 'Left Alt'. Aside from that, it is a great board that can do both creamy and thocky. My choice of switch was the Gateron Milky Yellow V2. This is a cery nice budget switch that I, personally, had no bent pins on. With all foam and milky V2s, this board is creamy. With all foam and a tape mod, It sounds like Ice cubes floating in a mug of hot chocolate. Very interesting and very unique, but not for me. The best sound for this board in my opinion, was to remove ALL foam, keep the tape mod, but line the case with painters tape (also keep the clear plastic to ensure no shorts happen) This results in a gentle thock that is also creamy with these switches. As a new builder, I learned that These switches are not great for RGB. That is sad because the RGB on this board is quite good and bright. But It may have been a better choice to go with the Gateron G pro yellows, which have a crystal houseing and are SMD to accomodate for RGB. If you don't care about RGB, no loss to you. Also note that when all foam is removed, you will see RGB god. You may consider keeping the IXPE sheet just to tone down the RGB. I have noticed different keycaps make a larger difference than on some other boards in terms of sound on this board. The tape in the case, btw, is to reduce case ping, which there is a bit. Lastly, remember that the barebones kit DOES NOT come with wireless options at the time of this writing..
Finally someone makes a video on the barebones kit and not the prebuilt
Ik bro. Barebones kit is underrated af for budget custom builds.
Bought the barebones with Nude Rosa and Temples. Combo goes crazy!

Polyfill only is a very interesting idea! I might try that on my keychron Q1 bc the force break mod didn't fully get rid of the ping

Finally someone that modded it. Good sound
Good job on the editing! I wonder how different the keyboard would sound if you used packaging pe foam instead of the one included in the kit
Dang this sounds better than my leobog hi75. Time to add this to my neverending keyboard wishlist!!
if you wanted to, could you mod the stabilizers? Or are they unable to be removed?

Wow love the sound profile on this 🔥
I'm really curious how does it sound when removing the plate foam :)
do you have to pierce the switches through the foam as there is no holes for the 2 metal pins
The prebuilt cost just slightly more than barebone, making its looks like a good deal. But marble white is too light for me
Put Hmx Xinhai switches in there and see what happens
My guess is that it'll make this keyboard very loud and poppy because of how clacky Hmx switches are
Hey i was wondering is the badge is removable and if isnt what is it holding on by
I know people like the sound but to me it's like nails on a chalkboard. I like silent switches.
cool video
