After years of trying many different workout routines, at 45, I gave a chance to Tracy Anderson youtube metamorphosis videos for two months everyday, once or twice a week of her half an hour cardios. It was the first time I liked the shape of my belly and arms. If you don’t have money start with the youtube metamorphosis videos, do each 30 mins for 6 days and give 1 day off. It really works. It is difficult at first, but when you are at week 5 you start to feel different. Don’t listen to people who have never done Tracy Anderson method on a regular basis. Now I don’t do it regularly, but when I put on weight, my belly shape is never as it was in the old days. I like my belly shape. Tracy is the real thing. When I first started, I thought the only thing I wanted was to be skinny, but after working out with her my brain chemistry has changed, I’m not skinny or something. I eat almost 2000 calories a day, normal weight and feel beautiful when I look at the mirror. It was 4 years ago, when I started TAM and now I don’t do it regularly. After watching your review, I am now on my mat to start her workouts regularly again. Don’t think about being skinny, if you want to love your body and mentally healthy with your body try Tracy Anderson. And don’t listen to people who tried that workout once or read about it.
I agree I keep going back to her workouts for many years. I like them and I’m certainly not fooling myself that my body will ever be like hers but I definitely feel very good after I do them. On TH-cam. For free 😊
I used to do Tracy every day also, but then grew tired of the workouts, just as I do with any other method. At first I loved them, if only because they're very different than other methods, but after a while, it becomes just as tedious. I can't even stand to do her Mat workout for example - the same movements over and over, never seems to end, the same tiny movements for endless reps - I used to think I'll get carpal tunnel syndrome from being so repetitive! Finally I couldn't do it anymore. In the beginning it is a nice change though; it's just that the novelty wears off quickly.
I could say pretty much the same thing after starting doing Yoga with Adrienne on TH-cam. It's great Tracy worked for you, but I don't think there's anything special about her workouts.
Been doing Tracy workouts for years, whether they’re the older DVDs or the weekly online studio workouts and it does work great for me. I have to modify some moves to accommodate my bad knees and use a really thick Airex cushion for the knees but I do love how I feel and look when I am consistent. There’s good standing options w the older DVDs & standing options in Online Studio that I enjoy when doing an entire workout on hands & knees just isn’t what would be good for me. Would love to do the MyMode but the price just isn’t attainable for me and wish there was an option w regular non-green etc wood and materials if that would make it less expensive.
I do agree with you on this. Her advanced membership is very $$ and they could def have some more obtainable packages for those who are kind of between, like me. I'm not ready for MODE but I want diverse classes.
I’ve worked out regularly since I was in my 20s. I’m now in my 60s. I’ve done it all. Competition runner. Worked out with a trainer for 3 years with progressive weights and got “ripped”. I did Pilates reformer for several years at a studio. So, I was never NOT in shape. I did have some issues with not eating healthy and fluctuating weight by 10 lbs. and it would all be in my belly. Up until that point the Pilates did the most for me as far as just liking how I looked in the mirror and just enjoying my workouts. But then I left the US to live in another country that had no Pilates classes. That when I started Tracy Anderson metamorphosis. It’s the best thing I’ve ever done as far as just feeling good in my own skin. Over time I stopped doing her dance cardio and replaced it with one hour walks, as I felt high energy cardio (also running) increases my appetite 10 fold. I only do her mat workouts and I do them 3 or 4 days a week. So, every other day. Walking for an hour on alternate days. They are tough if you’re doing them with intention and following her rep for rep. Don’t fool yourself. When you watch them, they don’t look hard. But they are progressively challenging. I’ve been doing it for just under a year now, and I’m amazed at my body. That is saying a lot for a woman in her 60s. I literally do look like I have a long and lean dancers body, and I’m a terrible dancer. 😂😂 I believe there are a large group of women like me, that want this lean look. Something about her method has made me calmer and more mindful of my eating. I’m now at my “perfect” weight of 145 lbs at 5’9”. When I lifted weights I never particularly embraced how I looked. I’m 5’9” so when I was more muscular, I felt big. I didn’t really like that someone would see me and say, I see you lift… I liked it better when I was doing Pilates, and now Tracy Anderson and people say you have a great body or great figure. Some people might not understand that, but that’s how I feel. I went to a surprise birthday party last night with people I had never met and a lady asked me how I stay so slim and trim. I directed her to Tracy Anderson on TH-cam. People pick on the things Tracy says in describing her method. I pay no attention and I go by the results.
And I’m trying to educate women that there’s more to life than being skinny. Lifting weights increases your bone density and muscle mass which rapidly decline with age, leading to a huge risk of injury.
I just found super slow weight training at 59 and 2 years post menopause. TOTAL GAME CHANGER. One OR two, 15 min workouts a WEEK, adding in one OR two, 5-10 MIN HIIT cardio workouts/week and then a few days of zone 2, 30 min walks, if desired. My strength is growing so quickly I can't believe it. The fat loss really is more about diet, that I'm still working on. The science of the importance of skeletal muscle is really amazing, for antiaging, anti-inflammation, insulin/metabolic health, brain health and more. See Dr. Doug McGuff for amazing presentations on that. End of the day, maybe I'll add a couple of META workouts in. I do love that lean look, I used to have it in my 20's, but I REALLY love feeling strong and fit and not having to spend a ton of time to get there. My personal feeling about TA is that she is an elitist, obnoxious and narcissistic wealthy celeb hound. I'm sorry, but the pretentiousness is just annoying. Super wealthy people telling everyone how to "anti-age and live their best life" when they spend hundreds of thousands on plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures, private chefs, live completely unrealistic lives buffered from reality, etc etc etc, just rings so inauthentic to me. But if you love her workouts more power to ya.
She actually never said she change your genetics. She read into it. The website says regardless of your genetics she can help you create balance for your body.
@@zoemillershorts9746 "Tracy Anderson's revolutionary method can give anyone - regardless of their genetic background - the physical and mental results they desire." That quite literally says that I can get the physical result I want regardless of my genetics.
@@JustinaErcole Well, you can. Want long thin legs when you were born with short stubby ones? Do Tracy Anderson regularly for 6 months and your legs will appear longer and slimmer. It’s not that hard to understand.
I actually followed Tracy Anderson's Method consistently for a year at home. You can buy them at a fraction of the cost of her MYMODE subscription. I did get results but 1. my body shape did not dramatically change. In other words, I was definitely "leaner" but my glutes, abs and thighs weren't toned cause she just ignores those muscles. And 2. I would've gotten results had I followed any other program for one hour a day, six days a week. The juice is not worth the squeeze, IMO.
I been doing Tracey Anderson for 17 years, sometimes I move to something else but always gets back to Tracey Anderson, I am Latina and only with the Tracey Anderson method I have the body I like (slim arms , etc), my honest opinion is amazing, change every week, is the only method I have the best body I ever could imagine, and I try everything, Gym, Zumba, R-45 etc you have to try it to understand and see the changes
Tracy is a pioneer in the field. She has worked, studied, and researched for years in the field. Much more than most people claiming to be experts. I have used her methods with great results. I don't want to look like a body builder.
Pretty sure this chic and Frumpy Fit are grumpy a$$ ladies who are a little jelly of successful women that just look better than the “rich white ladies BS” she mentions multiple times! I wont waste my time on watching any other videos of this hater but man, I hope she finds some positivity in her life because she is a negative extremist in this white girls opinion! Also, her Equinox in Manhattan comment made me gag a little! I would not do this chics workouts as her figure and shape is nothing desirable. She has zero curves and for a dancer not much definition. Nothing about her is desirable. Yo, Skill Share, sponsor folks worthy of your sponsorship! Not angry nasty mean girls!
I love that she doesn't talk. If you've listened to her talk I promise you you'd be greatful she doesn't talk during the class. They have breakdowns that explains the moves. I also love it because you really have to tune into listening to your body
I'm a bit confused about your confusion as to what long lean muscles are, and what a dancer's body looks like. You can look at any dancer, especially those in the ballet, and you'll see thin, muscular bodies with muscles that are long and lean, as opposed to the type of muscles a body builder has, for example, or anyone who uses lots of weights. Those bodies are very built up, with much bulkier muscles that add size, whereas a dancer can also be very strong, but has lean muscles, meaning that they don't add size.
@@katgirlblue you can build lean muscle in dance…. Not every dancer has the physique youre talking about. Its that simple. Dancer body isnt achievable for every body.
@@parxfilms2548 maybe, but I've seen lots of professional dancers performing, and I've never seen a chunky looking dancer with massive built up muscles like a body builder has, and I've also never seen a fat dancer. I admit, I haven't seen every single dancer in the entire world.
I really relate to your comment about your arms. Took me so long to accept (an ED in my teens and exercise obsession in my 20s) to realize that I’ll never have tiny arms. Even with a super small waist my arms were still larger looking/muscular.
I really thought you were gonna mention the fact that she claims using more than 3 pound weights will make you bulky and give you loose skin 😂that being said I'm one of those people who loves her workouts and how they make my body feel but definitely do not agree with her excessive use of pseudo science to market her method. You can get similar feeling with pilates and barre but I like her fluidity best if Im looking for a fun workout
I am still nursing a pulled shoulder and arm from that 15 minute video I did one late evening while cleaning my room. lol Great information send I think it's necessary to talk about genetics because TH-cam has such a variety of ages. Good stuff!
I've been doing Tracy Anderson for three years. I have osteopenia and her light weights keep me mobile and strong. I'm more flexible than I've ever been. No injuries. I never get bored of the content and my brain is constantly challenged. They're not just cardio; she encourages you to modulate your own energy. I usually work 70-80% effort for an hour. I think if you're reading this and are interested in her work, give it a go. It's the same price as a yoga membership or leisure club per month. Also, many of her trainers don't fit the "Gwyneth Paltrow" template. It's about balance for YOUR body, not a celebrity.
@@JustinaErcole wtf is fatphobic?? Wanting to be healthy? Going to gym?? Doing exercises?? Is being fat, eating fatty greasy foods good for you? That's what science told you? The fun part is you're accusing her of what scientific research she has done and can you provide us scientific research about being fat is good for us?? You're saying skinny white lady bs meanwhile you're using the most ridiculous internet bs word and that's fatphobic. You're nothing but a hypocrite 👍
@Rowan K.B the program is top expensive I agree. I paid $90 a month for 2 years I know this very much BUT I got what I paid for and exactly the body I wanted
Funny I was just talking about Tracy Anderson last night. When I first started in like 2012 there were two camps that basically boiled down to "women are meant to be trained differently because they're inherently weak and we want to keep them weak", and TA was one of those two.
@@connieb.4071agree! And her arm workouts are the best! Really help tighten your skin to the muscle ( at least it did for me at 43 yrs old). Like her results much better as compared to when I was lifting heavy for a few years and everything just got thicker ( waist, quads, upper).
Hey, thanks for that honest review! Its seems to be a rare thing to not talk about TAM just in a positive manner. I started doing her workout in pandemic and I felt like this was a really demanding workout, but I stuck to it bc I was promised amazing results... I was really worn out by these workouts, not mentioning some shoulders/neck issues, and I wasn't even doing them 6 times per week, as she wants you to. So I ́m all for being active and what not, but an hour of this hardcore everyday means that you need to give up other things and almost any hobbies, unless you're superhuman. I felt like my whole nervous system was overwhelmed, so these psychological effects I never felt. And it´s not that I was in very bad shape, I started TAM after my "running period" when I was running like crazy, I loved intervals, and I always felt better after running, but never with TAM. And yes, she is an amazing seller, and yes, this is a cult. Those magazines whit only her photos, "heartstones" to meditate with her....capitalisme is a high virtue here. Now, I go to the reformer pilates once a week, and I have better results than doing TAM 4-5 times in a week. It may work for you, if you're really trained from before, or lean, but for me, tending to be a bit overweight it wasn't that efficient. Now, when I look back, I think I was brainwashed and it was super hard to stop it, and stop becoming great "athlete" waiting for this amazing "results". #sorrynotsorry
Years ago I tried TA Metamorphosis. Did the training and the 800 kcal diet for 4 weeks. I was exhausted, I failed, I fainted, was so sore. Never ever again!
@@JustinaErcole the booklet contains 4 DVDs , a fitnessplan, a dietplan and a measure tape. 3 meals: Juice, veggies ( soups or purees), 75 g fruit. Every other week contained 2 extra eggs, or half a Avocado and 250g turkey breast.
That’s dangerous!!! Very !!!!! Tracy didn’t invent anything!!!!! People have been dancing moving jumping lifting since Adam and Eve!! Aerobics got super popular in the 80s then even bigger early 90s…… Tons of instructors and dvd “methods” She is full of herself with awkward non athletic stances and movements. People were eating like bodybuilders in the late 70s 80s. Small frequent meals every 3 hours to speed up metabolism. This nonsense drives me crazy!!!!
What would being "size inclusive" look like for her? Her whole method is about having a dancers body (and we all know what that means, a thin frame with long, lean, tight/toned legs and arms), so I wouldn't expect her to have women in her videos that don't have that dancer look to them, and that's okay. Every body type doesn't have to be included in every workout method, sure it would be nice if they were, but nobody is obligated to include all body types. And it's not just rich white women that have the privilege to have enough money to pay for chefs and people to work them out and make sure they don't over eat, and whatever else you said. Other races of women have access to that lifestyle as well, it just depends on their financial situation, but it's not only accessible to white women, that was an oddly racist statement just thrown in there.
Why is that a “dancer body”? I’m a dancer and don’t look like that. I know people who are 200 pounds and stunning professional dancers. Do they not have a dancer’s body?
@@JustinaErcole No, your 200 pound dancer friend doesn't have the dancer body that Tracy is referring to, lol. I'm a dancer and I don't look like that either, but it doesn't offend me at all. Idk how it started but we all know what she means when she talks about a dancers body. It's the same thing as a yoga body or a pilates body or a model body. Long, lean, slim, and not super muscular like body builder women are, but still fit.
Thank you for leaving this comment. I was sitting here trying to process how unbelievably racist this video is under the guise of being "woke." There are thin Black women with disposable income. I know that media likes to push the narrative that Black women are fat , but we come in all shapes and sizes. There are Black women in Senegal, Kenya, Somalia, and across the world with every body type. Some of us can afford workout plans. And, how ironic is it that she is trying to be so "relatable" and real, but she completely dismisses real life, lived experience and hands on training as less than, because Tracey isn't "certified" by some "rich white" institution?
This review is odd. I’m Latin and the constant reference to ‘rich white women’ is unnecessary and incredibly woke! So you don’t like her, we get it. I’m buying the metamorphosis program due to the great results mentioned in your comments section. I had to stop watching your woke review.
@@ivonnetexas Im Latin heritage also and didn't over think the "rich whyte woman" thing.....seriously........I got what she meant and I grew up with all whyte friends. I am 75 and a trained dancer since I was 5. Got my degree in Dance. All this talk about "dancer's body" is funny to me. The first thing a real trained dancer has is ATTITUDE. THAT IS BECAUSE DANCE IS FIRST AN ART FORM. It is also the ability to do ISOLATION...that is separating the areas of your body and not moving them while moving the others. I watched TA a bit and as lean as she is she doesn't carry herself anything like a dancer. Just sayin. Doesnt mean her program isn't of value. My daughter followed her for years. I am suddenly seeing her videos. The lean elongated muscle look is "sorely" missed in my opinion among the young girls I see at the gym. They are often not flexible and from being sold only weight training many of them look chunky and just not as lovely as they could if they spent more time mixing their routines up with stretching and core work.
I started her program 8 yrs ago & honestly yes it was hard & disciplined… and since then it’s the BEST shape I’ve ever been in. Ever. Do you research, read her book… she def wasn’t a genetically blessed white woman before- she was a dancer & was told she didn’t have the body to be a dancer… so she created a discipline program to do just that. Some ppl are “genetically” designed to make excuses due to their genetics & tell themselves that…. Just like everything else, it works if you work it. And her program works- mentally & physically. Yeah sure there’s a top tier level program so what 🤷🏼♀️ but there are also other options like FREE on here of hers that work as well. It works… but probably my most admirable thing about Tracy Anderson as a fitness coach is she doesn’t talk crap about other programs/trainers etc because she’s too busy doing her own thing 👏🏻
I’ve never seen a workout meant to appeal to people looking for a dancer aesthetic look so awkward (not you!). I agree with you on “I’d rather do less.” My workouts generally consist of 5 movements arranged in a way that I find engaging that day
I'm 68 and I can tell you that Tracy Anderson workouts aren't for the pusilaminous but they are mega effective over time. If they are too difficult be gentle with yourself and take your time. Consistency is key and very rewarding and amazing. I also recommend Jessica Smith here on you tube for variety and so much more.❤
so grateful for your channel when i was a teenager i used to do blogalites videos everyday and was sad my body didn't look like hers i even did the pilates calenders, fitness influencers are so good at marketing and lying its harmful esp for people with body issues
I used to teach Pilates and many of my clients wondered why they didn't go from 5'2" and muscular to 5'10" and willowy. I had to remind them that It's about genetics. Pilates can help you stand taller because you're strengthening the core muscles, which support the spine. But it won't make you physically taller, and won't change your body type.
To me a lean muscle look, elongated, even if you are athletically built signifies a "dancers body" to me. I am 75 years old and started dancing when I was 5. Have a degree in Dance and never stopped working out. Ran for 30 years. So much emphasis today on weight training and I see the young girls at the gym and the look is chunky and franky doesn't do justice to how beautiful some of the larger muscles say in the thighs can be fine tuned.
I almost had a heart attack when you posted the prices on the screen 😮 My gym membership is under $500 for the year and it’s whole facility with classes and training options
Are the positive comments about TA being removed? I did her method and reached the leanest, trimmesr most balanced shape I'd ever dreamed of. I gain muscle very quickly and was always a weight lifter. I wanted to achieve a "model body" and went from about 85kgs to 64kgs in about 7 months doing her method. There's NOTHING easy or "weak" about this method it is difficult and the no talking is surprisingly great for your brains engagement.
Sometimes we vilinize something because it's different from what we know and are used to. I afforded my self the time to learn a new way of moving and to override the moments of confusion and the things I didn't like and I got the body I wanted
Nope, I never remove comments! To address your other concerns. I never said this was easy. I actually found the workout I tried incredibly difficult. And I’m curious what a “model body” is.
@@JustinaErcole slim, lean, toned and flexible. I am muscular after building a lot of muscle over 15 years, I did her method to find out if its true her claims and I achieved a different body than id built from weight lifting
Yep! Cardio and muscular endurance (Tracy’s method) is totally different from strength training, which will yield a different result. If your goal is simply to be skinny and “model thin”, keep on doing what you’re doing.
@@JustinaErcole slim and strong and flexible and a sharper brain. her workouts create new brain pathways as no two weeks are the same, the weight transfers, the different angles, I could go on. To stay youthful and but put no pressure on your joints too. Ive been off her method for 1 year and I can surely say I miss it (not the price point) but the changes it made for me
He scared me too! I had one of Tracy's dvds back before youtube workouts were a thing. I remember feeling tired after finishing, but not like any of my muscles had been worked.
Thank you for posting this video even though you don't plan on doing reviewing anymore. I understand why you wouldn't, but I definitely do think you're great at doing them, and if there was anyone who's reviews we should listen to, it'd be you because I know you're knowledgeable in the subjects and you admit when you're not.
The lack of verbal cues is a definite no for me. The off beat thing is another one. Lol. Are we supposed to just watch her the entire time? I like to use a mirror to look at myself when I work out to check my form. She’s been all over my Facebook timeline for the past month so this video is timely.
As a thick black woman with a dance background I watched 3 Tracy videos and realized the moves are good but the way she can’t stay on beat and if so stiff isn’t good for my mental health lol
I saw that the minute she moved......she is not a trained dancer...I am just observing as a life long Dancer but my Daughter followed her for several years. I am just checking TA out now just to see what she is about
I think anything that gets people moving is a plus. For sticking to something, it’s important that you like it even if it can’t deliver whatever ridiculousness it promises. For example, I do barre, I’m fully aware I won’t look like a ballerina and that my legs aren’t going to magically elongate but I enjoy the workouts and that together with all else (my other workouts, eating, sleeping, etc.) is helping keep me in shape. Just wanted to share because I think a lot of people in this space want to knock one workout over the other or discredit it but moving is always good in my opinion.
I said that in this video. If you enjoy this workout and it keeps you consistently moving, I think that’s great! But I also think people deserve to know when people are lying to them so they can decide if that’s where they’d like to spend their money.
Absolutely agree with you re genetics. My tiny bone structure will not well support bulking I’ll just look…not good…. at my age well aware of this and don’t sweat it. And your take is spot on. She’s expensive and there is nothing earth shattering. Your take as well is very fair, and I enjoy your content because of that. Well done!
Instant subscripiee and my eternal respect for the phrase "silly rich white lady bullshit." There's so much of this in the woman-targeted fitness space, and seeing your very femme-directed but-still-sane content is refreshing.
Great review, thank you ❤ I would love to see more videos of your husband scaring you (and me along with other viewers) 😂it made my day . You made some great points, thank you x
I recently found out who this lady was because she came up on my IG feed randomly, and I gotta say...she kinda scared me! 😂 Like her movements creep me out! Can't explain it. Great video!
I did sweat a lot with this workout…which is uncommon for me no matter how intense my other workouts. But it was so expensive that I didn’t stick with it after the free trial. Thanks for the review!
And if your goal of workouts is to sweat a lot, it’s a great option for you! Otherwise sweating isn’t an indicator of a good workout. Thanks for watching!
@@JustinaErcole agreed. I suppose that was the message I was trying to convey. It did make me sweat but (that isn’t a measure of a great workout and) it was so expensive. If it weren’t so expensive I would’ve tried it for longer to see if I could get the results I wanted. Because I am a sucker for a good sweat sesh…but it’s gotta be a productive workout too.
I am so glad you posted this. at first I thought you were going to be a fake review to sponsor her videos etc. but I feel exactly the same to what points you made out. I have a bigger upper body and a very lean lower body. my arms always will be bigger like what you pointed out and I will never have super skinny arms also. so point made about genetics as well as diet has to be very low to lose that much weight. Tracy also has plastic surgery so someone not under the knife will never look a certain way.
Sheesh, it feels kind of cruel to create a program that costs thousands of dollars a year, but has no real research behind it, AND was made by someone with no certifications and what seems to be a very narrow mindset on fitness!!! 😭😭 Really enjoyed your review, but I kind of hope anyone who actually does a program like this just really finds it fun for some reason and that's it lol 😭😭
No no no- i see people doing pilates and yoga and their bodies achieve long lean muscle look vs weight training muscle building show that how you workout does make a difference in your shape.
I tried some TA workouts in the past and just felt like I was flailing about. I also have a dance background and keeping up was challenging to say the least. I appreciated your honesty and thoroughness here and the encouragement that we’re all different and we can work with our genetics instead of fighting them.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE your commentary. I was a fitness instructor and person trainer for 28 years and this is just another sad example that the fitness industry hasn't evolved to enforce health and healthy exercise habits. It's a cash grab industry. And while I exercise for myself now, I SOOOO glad I am not in this industry anymore.
I just checked her out and it made me cringe cause her movements scream injury, even bloglates has better workouts, and as someone who is generically built like miss anderson I can attest no amount of workout will make someone look like her cause long legs and arms and torso etc are genetics. You can look the best version of you but it's not gonna shift your bone structure
She’s actually really short - 5 feet. I think she looks taller because she is so tiny. I followed her method for a long time when she first started - unfortunately I am the same height but double her build - never did anything for me other than lots of burning 😢
I did the monthly $100 membership for about a month and I would have to watch the workout ahead of time to figure out what I was supposed to do, that frustrated me. About day 4 I finally got it and could follow along and then in two days the choreography changed. I was over it and cancelled, and never missed it.
That was hilarious and so real. While everyone’s form is different we can change what we’re predisposed to look like, when she says change genetics, she was pretty overweight for her height. I agree less is more, and could probably receive the same benefits by using the (free) workouts of her program from a TH-cam search if consistent.
Your channel is definitely part of my long recovery from the Tracy Anderson program and the awful messaging about “bulky quads” ❤ Where were all you folks in 2013 when I needed you!?
I tried the free 2-week trial & found the classes so frustrating to follow. I was a fitness instructor/trainer & pilates teacher for many years & musicality & cuing was always crucial in my opinion. So not working ‘with’ the music & having no verbal cues made it so difficult - I spent more time trying to figure out what she was doing than working out! I also really wanted to try MyMode but sadly that was too rich for my blood … maybe I can hit Gwyneth up haha!
I’ve been doing TAM for almost 15 years, yes 15 years. Through two pregnancies, multiple surgeries, postpartum, Covid, etc, and its always gotten me back to a place my body is the happiest. My muscles bulk naturally but not with her method. I’m still myself, but it helps me get to the best version of me, maintains my strength, flexibility. When I do other workouts, it hurts my joints, throws out my back and I can’t do it everyday consistently like I can with TAM. AND I don’t look or feel better about myself. Also btw- all the trainers have diff body types but all are strong. I don’t see how any of her program is “fat” shaming.
That's awesome that it happens to work for you but having all of the lame, meaningless, empty promises she makes about "having a dancer's body", "long lean muscle", and whatever junk she was saying about her knowing how to fix your mental health - is actively dangerous. On top of that, exercise science has literally shown that the vast majority of people will have little to no response to this type of method....for most people, it's a waste of time
I am yoga and pilates teacher and I love TA workouts ❤ Easy to follow, only 30 minutes (metamorphosis) and super effective. Haven’t paid anything so far, because in youtube were all the videos for free, even though they were recently removed. Probably will buy the online access to the classes now .
@@JustinaErcole defined body contour - never been so pleased with myself than doing TA workouts (only on the mat, no cardio and no strict diet) One workout does not have to suit for everybody, but generally is TA working wonders for most of the people.
Thank you so much for posting this and your very poingnant comments. As a non white woman with genetically passed on curves, I appreciate your noting I cannot fit into the tall skinny white woman box.
At the cost of sounding mean even though that's far from my intention, her claims about achieving the "elusive dancer figure" are baseless too. Do we need evidence? Her body, which is obviously very beautiful, is not a typical dancer body, at least if we're talking about the one and only dance style that strictly requires a specific aesthetics. Seems like Tracy can't escape her own genetics either. By the way, I'll never get why random people are obsessed with a poorly understood form of ballet aesthetics ("long, lean muscles") when 90% of them couldn't care less about ballet/dance in general. It's so weird! Can you imagine if tomorrow some fitness celebrity comes up with "the curling look" and people start going crazy about it? Nothing would surprise me, at this point. Have a nice weekend, Justina.
Thanks for your honest thoughts on Tracy Anderson...helped me to put into perspective of what was already in the back of my mind. I just tried to ignore it thinking that I just may have found my answer...when actually it was just smoke and mirrors.
Tracey Anderson's arm workouts are the very best. It will really get your arms tiny if you keep at it. Her workouts are very good, but I get too bored to do them all the time. Other workouts to supplement her workouts with to give you longer muscles instead of a bulky frame are pilates, Hamelin D' Abell, and bar workouts like Coach Kel. All of these are available on TH-cam for free.
@@JustinaErcole Well, I have tiny arms by doing it. I did years of weight training and Tracey's arm workouts worked magic and gave me ballerina arms, even though I am over 50.
@@JustinaErcole I am just trying to give women hope from my own experience Justina. I never called my experience science. If someone prefers to have bigger arms because they don't want to try a method that has helped many others, well that is their personal choice.
You are more than welcome to share your experience! But I will not allow someone to come on my channel and say they “it will really get your arms tiny if you stick with it.” You are stating this as if it’s fact. It is not. It is anecdotal experience.
I did her mat workout years ago and it works. Truly. Doesn’t matter your shape, size, colour or creed. If your a human move, if your an older human move more. It’s simple
@@miaschricker is balance the reason why she eats puree and soup the whole day (According to an article that SHE WROTE)? Sounds like disordered eating to me.

I must say, I appreciate you honest review. An I agree. I got cause I saw a friend of mine get results. But as I been reading it. Not this one but the 30 day method. And i was like this is way to low calories. But I love the concept of working the smaller muscles. An I have enjoyed her workout. My goal is not what she is offering. But I love the concept. But I love my yoga. An I love the free program of Heather Robertson and I like zumba and weights. I think if people just are consistent. An make time for themselves. Even reading an be less stress can help you lose weight.
Yes, I’ve been waiting for you to review TAM! I mean it’s kinda crazy that her membership is $90/month and she has you working out about 2 hours a day if I’m not mistaken. But I was interested in whether or not she stumbled on something cool targeting only the small muscles or if it was bullshit. She also refuses to do verbal cues cause it’s supposed to help with your brain function or something to follow along without cues? I’ve seen that even many of her members dislike that aspect, so it almost seems a bit arrogant on her part
But what I still don't understand is ANY science behind "only targeting small muscles." Like...why ONLY them? It seems like from her explanation because it makes you skinny lol.
@@JustinaErcole I would say she targets almost all the muscles, including "big" that TA doesn't like :) Though she doesn't do compound moves and focuses primarily on isolation type moves and
I did a review on her claims about a year ago because her claims are all-inclusive and a bit ridiculous. The whole crew came at me LOL. They twisted what I said stating how could I assume her workouts didn't work and that I need them because I dont look like a trainer. I never said her methods don't work, but I can't agree with her claims and promises, and my research I couldn't find any credentials from her which is concerning. The ads that initially led me to her, her community was promoting buying her nutrition plan and promising weight loss for these individuals with absolutely 0 knowledge of that individuals background and medical history. You can't promise something like that just randomly, everybody is different.
TA changed my life. As someone who has had more of an athletic body growing up, I now am in the best shape of my life and most slender, due to eating a healthy diet and working out at the TA studio. Also if you have a customized program, that hits the target areas differently than for a person where it’s not customized. TA for life!
@@JustinaErcole Absolutely not. Thankfully healthy then and healthy now. Happier with my body now than I was then. It's a personal choice. My point was that her program has done a lot of good for many people and continues to.
Reading your responses was weird. She's not being fatphobic...just expressed a personal experience. She didn't once diss athletic bodies....@JustinaErcole
I am doing Tracy Anderson exercises for 2years. I absolutely love the results, I am just a customer, I am not associated with her. I noticed difference slowly but long term difference in my body. My overall health has been improved. Period cycle is regular, skin and hair have been developed than before. I am happy and I would recommend her workouts.
I did Tracy Anderson Metamorphosis back in the day and same thoughts. Arms flailing everywhere, little/no verbal or visual cues for new moves, did not go to the beat of the music playing, and what irked me most of all is that she did not do the same number of reps per side. It did make it really easy to play your own music instead since listening to her vids made no difference.
You’re not doing it correctly by the sounds. Think of ballet dancers, they don’t “flail” around everywhere. The movements should be strong and controlled. If you’re flailing and not feeling much strength or resistance, or perhaps even fatigue, you may as well just enjoy a dance and accept you’re not going to get any results. Done properly, the results are gratifying once you stick with it. However it really is a workout for those who prefer a slim, lean, dancer’s body look. If someone is looking to bulk up and be visibly very muscular/athletic looking, then it’s likely going to be disappointing I guess. Not all women into fitness want to look extremely muscular, some of us want to get smaller but still be strong. We all have different bodies and different preferences, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that. 🙂
@@protègemoi777 I quite enjoy dance work outs and have done a lot of them over the years. My comment was more about my experience with the lack of planning that seemed to go into the Metamorphosis program specifically: uneven reps, no verbal cues, not moving to the beat, etc.
@@Callie1288Yes, a lot of us who were in the online community that came with the metamorphosis DVD program said the same thing in the forums. A main criticism was that some DVD's needed to be redone because it was so out of sync with the music beat. Also the uneven reps was mentioned as a concern.
Ug, I tried her workout so many times but it was so annoying not having any cues at all when the movement changed…Like gimme a bell, a bleep, a grunt ANYTHING to let me know what’s going on! Being frustrated for an hour is not my idea of a great workout.
For me, she’s the ONLY one that has changed my body so rapidly! I come back to her workouts every single time! I do her Mat workout and it includes two ten minute dance cardio’s and they are great.
Gweneth lost 11 inches in 10 days because she only drinks water. Water with powdered vitamins for breakfast, water with salt for lunch, and hard alcohol late in the evenings for sleep.
I love your honesty about Tracy because the price to flail around is halarious 😂 the workout you did was so funny I couldn’t stop laughing 😂thank you for the review and no thank you Tracy 👍
Wow, am I instructor too? And I feel the same way when I try to do her workouts feels so weird and I don’t see muscles in her arms. Totally agree with you.
Thanks for your honesty. I read some of the info prior to seeing your video. She eats between 500-1000 calories a day....not healthy with her level of activity, 500 not healthy at all. For those of us who are older, some of these moves are nearly impossible.
The videos on Instagram look so fun and have the cool vibes…😂😂😂 but you’re slapping me into reality and I just thought, I need good music and few regular moves and change a little each morning and be consistent for conservative months, then boom, I’ll see change
You seem like a smart lady. I have done TAM for 17 years and keep on doing it. She has helped me with my chronic pain like nothing else has. More than that my body has drastically improved after I gave birth to my son. I am now lean and feminine much more than I used to be. I understand that the video was made with entertaining purpose, but how can you just say things that you didn’t try? This video is unnecessary and honestly feels like you’re just jealous. Keep up the scares bits-that was actually funny.
I have done it for over 2 years. At 43, I have never felt better in my skin. She is twisting her method. She is quite clear its about creating balance in the body. I love it.
Lordy. I've been in and around the fitness industry since 1996 and I swear it seems like TA has been running around saying and doing weird, dopey, meaningless things for 20 years. Had no idea she was even still around.
On TH-cam. For free 😊
How much is Tracy paying you?
@@Justwonguy😂I wish
I believe there are a large group of women like me, that want this lean look.
Something about her method has made me calmer and more mindful of my eating. I’m now at my “perfect” weight of 145 lbs at 5’9”.
When I lifted weights I never particularly embraced how I looked. I’m 5’9” so when I was more muscular, I felt big.
I didn’t really like that someone would see me and say, I see you lift…
I liked it better when I was doing Pilates, and now Tracy Anderson and people say you have a great body or great figure.
@@JustinaErcole not cracking a hip when I'm 80 > having "long lean" muscle and a "dancer body". No brainer really.
Thank you for this. I almost got sucked into the marketing and thought I'd check for reviews first! Appreciate this!
I love your honest and thoroughness here! Every woman needs to hear this: “you can’t change your genetics, but you can work with them!”
100%!!
She actually never said she change your genetics. She read into it. The website says regardless of your genetics she can help you create balance for your body.
@@zoemillershorts9746 "Tracy Anderson's revolutionary method can give anyone - regardless of their genetic background - the physical and mental results they desire."
That quite literally says that I can get the physical result I want regardless of my genetics.
@@JustinaErcole Well, you can. Want long thin legs when you were born with short stubby ones? Do Tracy Anderson regularly for 6 months and your legs will appear longer and slimmer.
It’s not that hard to understand.
That doesn't mean you're necessarily changing your genetics. But Tracy claims you can...which you can't.

I would not do this chics workouts as her figure and shape is nothing desirable. She has zero curves and for a dancer not much definition. Nothing about her is desirable.

Do some research before you comment this.
It’s genetics. I could do those workouts and never look like a dancer.
You know that the youtuber you’re watching is a dancer….. right?

@@katgirlblue you can build lean muscle in dance…. Not every dancer has the physique youre talking about. Its that simple. Dancer body isnt achievable for every body.

I really relate to your comment about your arms. Took me so long to accept (an ED in my teens and exercise obsession in my 20s) to realize that I’ll never have tiny arms. Even with a super small waist my arms were still larger looking/muscular.
Keep talking so clearly! Thanks for doing so! Love you for that!
You're so welcome!

Like I said, I’m glad you’ve found something that works for you. But the messaging she puts out is incredibly problematic and fat phobic.

I did her method years ago. No amazing results. And a couple workouts had inconsistent reps, working one side and not near enough on the other.
Oof
Funny I was just talking about Tracy Anderson last night. When I first started in like 2012 there were two camps that basically boiled down to "women are meant to be trained differently because they're inherently weak and we want to keep them weak", and TA was one of those two.
Ooooooh such a good take.
Yeah. She was training Gweneth Paltrow and saying to use small weights to shrink the muscles up to the bones. Wtf?
Wow I don't agree at all. This program is soon difficult. There's nothing "weak" about TAM, mentally and physically it is difficult
@@connieb.4071agree! And her arm workouts are the best! Really help tighten your skin to the muscle ( at least it did for me at 43 yrs old). Like her results much better as compared to when I was lifting heavy for a few years and everything just got thicker ( waist, quads, upper).
@@christinas2188 im with you. as for me, her program delivered what she said it would. my fave are the TAM LINES, lean definition
OMG 800 CALORIE DIET??? Is that what she recommends??
@@JustinaErcole the booklet contains 4 DVDs , a fitnessplan, a dietplan and a measure tape. 3 meals: Juice, veggies ( soups or purees), 75 g fruit. Every other week contained 2 extra eggs, or half a Avocado and 250g turkey breast.
Can confirm that was the nutrition plan!
It works… but probably my most admirable thing about Tracy Anderson as a fitness coach is she doesn’t talk crap about other programs/trainers etc because she’s too busy doing her own thing 👏🏻

so grateful for your channel when i was a teenager i used to do blogalites videos everyday and was sad my body didn't look like hers i even did the pilates calenders, fitness influencers are so good at marketing and lying its harmful esp for people with body issues
Yes yes yes, even with the best intentions, a lot of these people don't realize the impact they're having.
Blogalates isn’t even a nice body- it’s basic - no muscle tone- kinda like a lanky teenager
Any body that can dance is a dancers body.
AMEN!
I've always said I'll never have a dancer 's body because I trip over my own feet. ☺️
That is silly.
Oh yeah for ONE in person class in NYC it’s $50 🫠
Ive been off her method for 1 year and I can surely say I miss it (not the price point) but the changes it made for me
Her arm workouts are AMAZING & work. You hit every angle of your arm & my arms have never looked better.
You’re always spot on with these, thank you.
Glad you like them!
He scared me too!
I had one of Tracy's dvds back before youtube workouts were a thing. I remember feeling tired after finishing, but not like any of my muscles had been worked.
Yes! I definitely felt tired. That's the best way to put it!
I appreciate that!
I agree!!!
The lack of verbal cues is a definite no for me. The off beat thing is another one. Lol. Are we supposed to just watch her the entire time? I like to use a mirror to look at myself when I work out to check my form. She’s been all over my Facebook timeline for the past month so this video is timely.
haha the algorithm brought you here :)
I am just checking TA out now just to see what she is about
It was the genuine scare outtake for me. I love your content!!!
Omg I have PTSD from that 😂😂😂
I think anything that gets people moving is a plus.
This workout has changed my life. It has literally changed my body shape and made me tight. Amazing
I’m glad you found something that complements your life!
Well done!
Thanks!
11 inches in 10 days?!? Did she cut off a body part?
Hahahahahahha
🤣🤣🤣
im not a trainer but every time i see Tracy i feel it in my bones that her stuff is BS. so thank you for confirming!!!
Great video!
lol thanks!
@@Djk8263 I have a few of her DVDs and they're great! I love her workouts.
Great video and so helpful. Thanks!
Omg I was so excited when you posted this. I’ve never liked Tracey’s approach to fitness and figured you would agree 😉
Just not my cup of tea :)
Same!
Thanks so much for watching!
Thank you for watching!
I love you! I love your evidence based, common sense approach. And also, your calling out GP. 😂
Thank you!
I love when you do these reviews!
Glad you enjoyed!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I love these videos. You’re husband scaring you was hilarious😂.
😊 thank you
Your channel is definitely part of my long recovery from the Tracy Anderson program and the awful messaging about “bulky quads” ❤ Where were all you folks in 2013 when I needed you!?
If I stressed about how "bulky" my quads are, I'd never be able to get out of bed lol
What is your experience with Tracy Anderson? I'm very interested.
On top of that, exercise science has literally shown that the vast majority of people will have little to no response to this type of method....for most people, it's a waste of time
I just want to point out that muscles don't "bulk naturally" LOL
I am yoga and pilates teacher and I love TA workouts ❤ Easy to follow, only 30 minutes (metamorphosis) and super effective. Haven’t paid anything so far, because in youtube were all the videos for free, even though they were recently removed. Probably will buy the online access to the classes now .
Define effective.
You’re so welcome!
Well said!
Thanks for your honest thoughts on Tracy Anderson...helped me to put into perspective of what was already in the back of my mind. I just tried to ignore it thinking that I just may have found my answer...when actually it was just smoke and mirrors.
but what made him laugh so hard he had to come in and almost give you a heart attack 😭
I SAW MY LIFE FLASH BEFORE MY EYES 😂
I have to say that scare at the beginning cracked me up!
Thankful I have never heard of this one.
Hahahha glad you found it amusing!
All of these are available on TH-cam for free.
lol no, they do not get your arms tiny if you keep at it.
@@JustinaErcole Well, I have tiny arms by doing it. I did years of weight training and Tracey's arm workouts worked magic and gave me ballerina arms, even though I am over 50.
Anecdotal evidence does not equal science.
It’s simple
What does "works" mean?
@@JustinaErcole works mean it makes you the best version of yourself. Thats what works means. She is about balance not anorexia.
@@miaschricker What does "best version of yourself" mean? You're throwing around random terms without defining what the TA method *actually* does.
@@miaschricker is balance the reason why she eats puree and soup the whole day (According to an article that SHE WROTE)? Sounds like disordered eating to me.
Tracy Anderson method really works. Only somebody that didn’t try it can say or think the opposite.
Hahahahahaha
Loving all the Tamily comments!
Correlation does not equal causation. People CAN potentially have increased cortisol with too much intensity or impact, but it doesn't cause it all of the time.
I love that she doesn't give verbal cues. I don't need to be cheered up nor spoken to while I work out. It just pisses me off 🤣
@@JustinaErcole I would say she targets almost all the muscles, including "big" that TA doesn't like :) Though she doesn't do compound moves and focuses primarily on isolation type moves and
I did a review on her claims about a year ago because her claims are all-inclusive and a bit ridiculous.
So athletic bodies are unhealthy? Undesirable? In poor shape?
@@JustinaErcole Absolutely not. Thankfully healthy then and healthy now. Happier with my body now than I was then. It's a personal choice. My point was that her program has done a lot of good for many people and continues to.
I’m glad you found something that got you closer to your goals. But just like Tracy’s messaging, what you said is pretty fatphobic.
Reading your responses was weird. She's not being fatphobic...just expressed a personal experience. She didn't once diss athletic bodies....@JustinaErcole
Very well said Justina! Thank you
I am doing Tracy Anderson exercises for 2years. I absolutely love the results, I am just a customer, I am not associated with her. I noticed difference slowly but long term difference in my body. My overall health has been improved. Period cycle is regular, skin and hair have been developed than before. I am happy and I would recommend her workouts.
glad you found something that gets you to your goals!
My husband terrifys me regularly. He's silent when he walks around, then all of a sudden, I hear a male voice way to close to me.
Hahaha he needs a bell
@@JustinaErcole I tell him that all the time. 😂😂😂
Ug, I tried her workout so many times but it was so annoying not having any cues at all when the movement changed…Like gimme a bell, a bleep, a grunt ANYTHING to let me know what’s going on! Being frustrated for an hour is not my idea of a great workout.
Yesss I felt so confused!
There are definitely bleeps now. I guess she must have changed that thanks to feedbacks.
I think you are spot on with this review
For me, she’s the ONLY one that has changed my body so rapidly! I come back to her workouts every single time! I do her Mat workout and it includes two ten minute dance cardio’s and they are great.
I did LOL several times during this video. Omg the price 🤑 keep these reviews coming. Please ‼️‼️
we'll see :)
I never understood her method, thank you for sharing.

THIS
I love your honesty about Tracy because the price to flail around is halarious 😂 the workout you did was so funny I couldn’t stop laughing 😂thank you for the review and no thank you Tracy 👍
Wow, am I instructor too? And I feel the same way when I try to do her workouts feels so weird and I don’t see muscles in her arms. Totally agree with you.
Ok, yes it seems goofy. I thought that too. But i use muscles especially in my lower abs that no other kind of workout has given me.
Have you actually done the TA Method for any period of time? What were your results?
I have done it for over 2 years. At 43, I have never felt better in my skin. She is twisting her method. She is quite clear its about creating balance in the body. I love it.

Lordy. I've been in and around the fitness industry since 1996 and I swear it seems like TA has been running around saying and doing weird, dopey, meaningless things for 20 years. Had no idea she was even still around.
She's still kickin!
