I don’t remember when I first heard this song but it was the first time I’ve ever heard Lightnin Hopkins and I’ve loved his music ever since. It makes me want to learn to play the guitar.
I love the Blues I love all the good blues players BB King Muddy Waters Albert Collins Stevie Ray Vaughan Eric Clapton in all the bad boy but my man Lightnin Hopkins is the best you the best baby you are the man Lightnin Hopkins you are the man play that thing boy cuz ain't nothing like the Blues
Hendrix did this when he came back from England for the 3 day festival called Monterey POP festival 1967 june 16,17,18 Janis j. Was in the front row but of course Hendrix did it rock me baby ,rock me all,,night long
i see my man with the big electric....and because hes LIGHTNIN .....HE pulls it off. But he always had his own time and style with the country acoustic blues. Him workin with a drummer and bassist.....You can tell they gotta keep it basic because sumtimes Lughtnin will come in behind the beat...or sumtimes just before. He was always on time with Lightnin Time tho.....but when playin with others you can always tell they watchin close and layin off to give him.plenty room for his changes and runs. You cant beat Lightnin when it comes to the blues.....but he spent so much time acoustic solo....that he never was a band man.

"Lightning" was board with what is known as playing to 4/4 or 3/4 or 6/8 or whatever the hell they teach in school. People who understand this kind of tumi g k ow how to follow it.They weren't just keeping it simple so he could improvise..
