- Fr. Simeon (Zaharia) of Sihastria Monastery, Romania, gives us his last advice, his last words before death. He is now 94 years old and lives in a hermitage in the Romanian mountains. "My last words: 'pray, pray, pray without ceasing, wherever you are.' When our mind is elsewhere we don't benefit from it. God wants us not to forget Him for a moment. I hope... but I can't force God to do what I want... I just pray, I humbly pray. Humility and again humility..."

Granting him more years isn't what's best for him, he ran the race, eventually there is a time to rest. He desperately needs the rest of God, living in this world for so long is tiring.

This was a revelation from Fr. Simeon because he knows the spiritual battle we’re in. He’s knows there’s no “penance in the afterlife”. Praying without ceasing and forgiveness is our hope for salvation. May God bless him!

We must ALL of us work and pray and do penance, and cry tears of repentance and sorrow for our sins there is no salvation otherwise, we will only know our fate at judgement.Searching holy scripture for appropriate verses will not save you.
He looks exceptionally healthy and well for his old age, a visible sign of how good prayer and fasting is for our soul.
Old people from all spiritual traditions looks the same.
Let us not forget that Moses, the servant of God, lived a long life without weakness to his body whatsoever. He was able to see well and walk with all strength up to his old age. And he probably prayed a lot.

There's something special about the Romanian elders and priests. They suffered terribly under the communists in the 1950's I believe it was. The elders I've seen on video, Frs George and Roman who ended up in America, Fr Arsenie Papiacic, Mother Alexandra who founded Holy Transfig. in PA. Staniloae. Something special about the Romanians, man.

@@E.C.2 Orthodox have confession. I read Fr Walters 2 books. He had it bad, but some Romanian priests were in solitary confinement for 11 years without even a pencil to write with. They made the older prisoners torture the newer prisoners. People cracked and went insane Fr Walter suffered, but you can't believe some of the other stories. Just letting you know. Many Orthodox have a very low opinion of Jesuits and Uniates, so you may run into some hostility when discussing Fr Walter. Plus, Rome did have a program to convert the Russians, taking advantage of their situation.
But I like Fr Walter cuz he was from Shenandoah PA.

Praise God for the Wisdom you are sharing, Fr. Simeon (Zaharia), for those with ears to hear and eyes to see. Repentance can only be found here and not in the afterlife!!! Pray, with humility, for we are sinners, and must ask for repentance, and pray unceasingly through and with the Grace of God. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on us, sinners.

This man is correct that we should forgive one another, no matter how difficult it may be to do so. I've been there, still struggle at times, but that's part of the test. Keep heart brothers and sisters.

@@mariaandreaspashi1931 God accepts everyone's true repentance. He never rejects a humble, sincere heart. But we must acknowledge our depraved condition and believe in His Son Jesus Christ as atonement for our sins, in order to be clothed in HIS righteousness. We have no righteousness of our own.
What l remember from my early years, we were taught to confess our sins by itemizing them. But never were we taught to confess our sinfull CONDITION, and our need to be born again by the Spirit of God into a new man. Our own efforts to produce righteousness in ourselves are " fig leaves"
That's the real, Scriptural way of salvation.

Yes, you said it right, about the "little sins".. but it is BY them that we get lead away into deeper ones, and it's by them God tests our hearts. There are so many voices out there. I am so glad to watch this video and I learn from the wisdom shared in it, to Focus on prayer without ceasing , being steadfast in the LORD, morning , noon and night thinking of God's love and mercy, praying with humility, and beg to be saved of the LORD and be focused in the things of the LORD and to forgive what wasn't well said , or what wasn't well done etc . This video is so touching, because It reminds me of words of my earthly father too that we should always have in our heart Deuteronomy 6. According to the Torah "law"

I became Christian at a treatment centre when I came off crystal meth 6 years ago at 21 years old with a 16 year old pregnant girlfriend. Now we are a happy and blessed family. When you graduate the program you get to pick a bible verse that most impacted you or that would be beneficial to others and they blow it up on a big screen in the diner. Mine was 1 Thess 5:16,17,18. “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, be thankful in all circumstances.” His last words are truly impacting. This holy man’s last words are deeply impacting and true for anyone who knows the life transforming power of prayer.
May His kingdom come to you and all of us. Fiat fiat you are already in paradise.

Summary: Salvation is through faith in the blood atonement of Christ. "Once saved, always saved."
Those alive today need to be encouraged by those who endured in faith that we are not separated from the love of GOD even when we go through man made hardship.
