That cat on your lap was so sweet. Nice dog too. yeah it is sooo challenging in cold, wind, rain and HILL to sweat up. 2x and big cassette helps. And Win Hoff training! Lovely cafe stops and that place you stayed. Someone needs to invent a plug in base layer, you plug yourself in at cafe stops and it dries you out like an elec blanket. Soon gonna get wet again though! Maybe someone needs to invent smart lamposts you can plug into to charge kit up. Small charge.
That's nuts! It adds a whole new meaning to the word 'endurance'. That took huge guts to persevere in such conditions, particularly as a lone rider. As for Raynaud's, I really feel for you. My wife suffers from this condition and it can be really grim and very painful. Kudos for sticking it out so far. 👍
Multiple day Endurance events are something else entirely, it is not your neibourhood friendly crit, it just takes you places, especially inside your head… You are tough Jul, it is just some times mother Nature takes you through all the bad alleys. Keep the spirits high. 🫡
A quote i always remember is - ' if we made a decision based on the best of our knowledge at the time - it was the right decision'. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.. Amazing journey and so bloody tough... love your content ❤... Always next year 🤗 xx
Freezing cold, driving rain, cloud..might as well have saved the air fare and cycled in England..haha🤣 Im only teasing. Amazing adventure, you'll never forget doing it! Can't wait to watch part 2! Take care Juliet 😊
Wow...that looked brutal. I so admire you. You go off to these far flung places all around the world and do these savage races. You are one strong determined Lady, thank you for bringing us these fantastic vlogs.
Hi Juliet, I've watched your channel for some time and love what you do. How about coming out to New Zealand some time? It's as beautiful as Patagonia but not nearly so cold and wet! We have some great bikepacking events like the Tour Aotearoa that I'm sure you'd love.
The challange for me in this focused short-time-frame approach to an ultra distance ride is that it does not look like a lot of fun. I appreciate the challenge is in the distance, the experience and epic nature of battling fatigue and distance giving you a sense of achievement. However, with night riding and constant rain it does not look like you get to experience the country and it looks like a lonely fight against tiredness and rain. Amazing effort though and well done. I could not do that sort of distance myself and think its an amazing achievement. Maybe if you had more luck with sunnier days, the whole thing would have felt different. It looks like you had some beautifully scenery between the storms.
Ultras are brutal even in the best sunny conditions. Altitude makes everything way more cold. One thing I learned years ago. Hopefully you completed it 🤞🏻
Thanks for bringing us along on this adventure, Juliet. The scenery is gorgeous. It must have been a nightmare to deal with the grim conditions. I look forward to the next video.
Great vlog, there'll come a time on one of your jaunts, where it's uneventful, all blue skies & rainbows ! You won't know yourself ! Well done J ( Part 1 at least):)
hi Juliet, I saw your interview on the Buzzalong channel. I watched this gripping video and of course I want to see what happened next right away. ciao from Venice, Italy.
Respect to you on this brutal ride….and luv that you include highs and lows….too many other TH-cam cyclists are all about woohoo this so great etc…blah blah….this is harsh reality and better for it…be careful!
thanks for being brutally honest about your experience of whilst doing this trip. Always good to hear the real deal however, good bad or ugly it may be.
I realise this is probably well after the event, but just to let you know. Sending you lots of love and warmth through all of your suffering because you are out there doing it and many of us would like the opportunity ,but you share it with us which is the next best thing. Thank you and stay strong. Easier said than done I know especially on your own.
Ouch! Its bad enough doing a tough grind, but add in cold and wet and wind. Just ouch! Your last words, gotta take care of yourself. Yeah, no sense needing to get rescued on the mountain. Still a heck of a ride no matter what!
I have such admiration of everyone who takes on these challenges. This is another great video from you Juliet, documenting your ride and it so well demonstrates your grit and determination. I hope it hasn't put you off these challenges.. I wonder what you would do differently for your next ultra'?
Thank you so much! It's not put me off at all, it was a great adventure and I learnt a lot. Next time I won't listen to any 'advice!' Even though it's well meant, I realise I need to stick with my own plan
I’ve liked this video but really haven’t ‘liked’ it at all because I feel so sorry for you. What awful weather !! I hate the cold above everything else so really feel for you, don’t know how you’ve kept going. If it makes you feel any better the suffering really does come across in the video 😱😱
It was brutal from what friends and you posted on instagram. I even saw frozen bikes under the snow. Nice that you enjoyed it anyway 😅 and also that you tried our marraquetas and sopaipillas.
I was hoping you'd stop there but I fear you decided to go on and keep going regardless; honestly that's what I would have done myself just because I'm precisely that kind of stubborn slightly obsessive mind that wants to make it at all costs. I am going to watch the next video and hope for the best and comment the rest there ! Please tell me you're fine and wanting to go to the next ultra! 😁 ✌
You're one tough cookie! I so enjoy watching your journeys, I hope we don't lose you to some homogenous mainstream corporation because you're tv gold you are. Get on girl!
i have raynauds and it is the absolute worst with damp cold. It can feel like your hands have been set on fire when you finally come back into the warm and chillblains can last for weeks. no joke!
Miss Juliet, Thank you for the post and allowing us to come along your adventure. You are alot happier than I would of been cause I don't mind the rain, BUT I do not do Cold. Can you please provide the artist/ song title that is played at 23:29 in the video?
Whether that’s true or not, I wasn’t. It’s one solitary tea bag at a sitting, which I replenish repeatedly with hot water. So probably about two tea bags a day, if I’m lucky!
Hi everyone! Please Subscribe if you like this video, it’s a very simple and much appreciated way of supporting me. Thanks!
Warm greetings from The Special Territory of Yogyakarta, Indonesia, Juliette Elliots. It's an awesome bike riding. 😊
Takes me back to when I rode 4000km up and down Chile & Argentina..

Most endurance races seem to end up as calorie consuming races.
This one seems to be a tea drinking contest! ☕️☕️☕️
Pretty much!
Hola Juliet , animo tu puedes , eres muy fuerte y de espiritu aventurero ... exito y mucha fuerza !! saludos desde Valparaiso Chile !!
You are my hero!! No matter what😊Keep doing what you're doing! Thanks for inspiring me. Big hug😊
Wow, thank you!
A quote i always remember is - ' if we made a decision based on the best of our knowledge at the time - it was the right decision'.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing.. Amazing journey and so bloody tough... love your content ❤...
Always next year 🤗 xx
Well said!
One is tempted to say, “What did you expect in the Andes?” Well done for persevering though! 👏👏
the weather is very unpredictable in the Andes but this was somewhat unusual, given the time of year (spring)
Freezing cold, driving rain, cloud..might as well have saved the air fare and cycled in England..haha🤣
Im only teasing. Amazing adventure, you'll never forget doing it! Can't wait to watch part 2!
Take care Juliet 😊
Thanks for taking us on this ride.
Btw... great musical choices.
Wow...that looked brutal. I so admire you. You go off to these far flung places all around the world and do these savage races. You are one strong determined Lady, thank you for bringing us these fantastic vlogs.
Wow. That look equal parts horrific and beautiful at the same time. Kudos.

I would love to!

hi Juliet, I saw your interview on the Buzzalong channel. I watched this gripping video and of course I want to see what happened next right away.
ciao from Venice, Italy.
Ciao!
Thats Patagonia, all 4 seasons in 1 day. Great !!
Well done, very inspiring to us ladies!
Thank you so much!
You’re a legend. I’d have definitely tapped out long before where you got to by the end of this video. 💪🏼
I started shivering just watching your video. Bloomin’ ‘eck! Well done, and I’m looking forward to the next video. Good luck!
Thank you very much!
I also have Raynaud's, I'm sympathetic to dealing with that pain. Kudos to working through that with all the other discomforts of this event.
Type 2+ fun! Well done whatever comes next
My favourite video you have done in a while, cant wait for part 2.
good vid. its always an effort talking to me!
Tough ride physically & mentally, top marks for getting it done..... what's the name of that song you used, love it
Respect to you on this brutal ride….and luv that you include highs and lows….too many other TH-cam cyclists are all about woohoo this so great etc…blah blah….this is harsh reality and better for it…be careful!

Great admiration for you in those conditions. Looks absolutely fabulous though. Bet it’s lovely in Summer
actually, it is the beginning of summer
@@DiegoRomero331 oh crikey!
There's never a proper Summer there
Great stuff! Keep it going! You're a warrior!

Epic for sure!

Fabulous video. I love that you don’t sugar coat anything. Love seeing your adventures. What rain jacket are you wearing?
Similar landscape here in New Zealand but maybe a bit warmer during November to April.
It's kind of sad that you are not confortable in this epic ride.
i have raynauds and it is the absolute worst with damp cold. It can feel like your hands have been set on fire when you finally come back into the warm and chillblains can last for weeks. no joke!
Totally agree
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 great review
Thank you!!
Great video Juliet, but it was hard to watch you suffer like that 🫣!
YOU are one tough lady!
Great video! 👍👍👍👍
Thank you! 👍
I could cry for you😢
Thank you for being natty❤
M o r n i n g !
Nice recap! That was some bad weather! By the way, what's the song played at the end?
Love your videos, but dang, you can't leave us hanging!!!😒😉
Such a shame Juliet. What a incredible place to ride. The weather just makes it a totally different event

As usual, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
great video, Juliet, what country?
Thanks. Chile
The skies... I mean...
Hi Juliet, what is the brand of the grey raincoat you are wearing in this video?
It’s made by Velocio
Thank you and by the way, you make nice videos😁
whats the brand of your waterproof jacket?
Velocio
I think drinking vast amounts of tea or coffee is bad for circulation
Whether that’s true or not, I wasn’t. It’s one solitary tea bag at a sitting, which I replenish repeatedly with hot water. So probably about two tea bags a day, if I’m lucky!
❤❤
Please what is the brand of the jacket?
