Ah, someone that knows what they are doing. Informative video.

Good video. I just got the similar Ryobi RG-2700 manual start. I’m finding though that under very light load, my voltage fluctuates quite a lot (190V-240V swing), causing lights to flicker, but when I add a decent load like a TV, kettle or microwave, I get a stable 230V. Generator purrs nicely the whole time, so it’s purely on the power output side. You rate this is fairly normal or should I do a warranty claim?

How do you find the Adendorff generator so far?

Awesome video. Please explain where and how you are connecting the Fluke device to the Generator ?

Kettle... uses a kak load of power, and on that specific generator its ratted output is 2500W and max load is 3000W also spoke to Ryobi and apparently these generators needs a min load on it before it actually smooths out the freq. But just listening to your generator there is something not lekker with it. The newer model of the RG 3500 doesn't do that burp burp it stay constant. Mine stays on 53Hz which is strange not to mention the new RG3500 has their VR in it so apparently there should be some sort of voltage regulator in it. I am using the exact some method though I have a hybrid inverter setup rated at 5.5KVA so going the same route as this with the cutoff when Eskom sees its arse

These Ryobi and Mac don't sound like a good option to buy. Probably going to shop around even more before I spend my money. What generators do you recommend

The video title doea not say its a repair. You can check your field winding of the genny

@@ecologicaltimethought there was some adjustments on the generator that could increase the rpm and consequently the frequency?
