I'll never forget at the end of Mass one time Father said, "Let's pray." And this little boy yells super frustrated, "Let's DON'T PRAY!" 😂😂😂😂 The whole church had a hard time fighting back laughter. Father about cracked up. 🤣

I had a Protestant Friend tell me once, one thing I really enjoy when I go to a Catholic Mass is seeing all the children there at the service. Apparently where she went, they had a separate service (daycare) for all the children.

I see this every week at Mass!!! I used to get all flustered with my own kids back in the day, but now, as an older grandpa, I see it happening and I just smile. I want all the parents who are raising their little ones and bringing them to Church to know that I support them and love to see all of those distracted little faces in the pews! Please keep coming. We love it. - No really, even when they cry I just smile.

I literally laughed so hard I cried. This is my life. Two additions for the next edition:
    1) In a stadium seating church, crayons audibly rolling from the last row aaaaaaaaaaall the way to the front. Followed by silence, then, "MY CRAYON! WAAAAAAAAAAH!"
    2) Me: "Please speak quietly. You need to whisper here."
2 Year old: "WHAT DOES WHISPER MEAN?!?!"

My twins were 2ish yrs old and were shutting everyone while singing a liturgical song. Then once everyone was quiet, the twins began to sing off of the top of their lungs "oi,oi,oi,'Cause I'm T.N.T. I'm dynamite!
T.N.T.!! and I'll win the fight!!" Several people bursted out in laughter 🙈

This is excellent! I have seven kids and have gone through many of these. Add in a rolled up church bulletin turned into a megaphone. Doo doo doo do do do! 🤦‍♀️

If the Priest is cool with it then everyone is cool also. If the Priest is up tight and annoyed then so goes the parents and the congregation. I attend the TLM. We have many young families with 6-7-8 children and it is amazing how well behaved most are but even during a meltdown, no one goes off the deep end cause our Priest is wonderful and loves the kids.

This is awesome! I have 3 kids: 9, 6, and 2 and nearly everything in this video has been done by at least one of them at one time or another. The day my oldest ripped a page from the hymnal, I thought I'd never live it down. Or the time my middle child said, "time for donuts" really loudly right after communion. Thanks for doing this!

Thank you so much for this sweet and hilarious video! My kids have done every one of these things over the years! I think I cried after every Mass for a solid year when my husband was working weekends, I had a fiesty (understatement) two year old, and was pregnant with our third. But take courage! We now take 5 to Mass and most weekends I don't even break a sweat. Somewhere along the lines it gets easier. They do learn!

This is fantastic. And spot on. Other things our kids do: make a bell noise along with the bells, fight over books, and (especially our 4 year old), celebrate his own Mass in the pew with his back to the priest.
Thanks for posting and for the encouragement to parents.

I love this so much! I've been asked to leave so many times, and I always argue that kids will only learn by continuing to come! This was so funny, and the end made me cry. Thanks for understanding!

Thank you so much for sharing this. My three boys have done every.single.thing. in this video except ripping out a page from the hymnal … but accidentally from their own kids Bible? Yep that happened once before too lol. My oldest is now 14 and altar serves, my next oldest, 13, is a violinist and plays for the music ministry during mass. All on their choice to be part of the Church. I guess bringing them to mass and dealing with their childhood antics paid off somewhere. (Now my 5 year old… well he was the kid dancing in the aisles yesterday during Saturday vigil mass… filled with the Holy Spirit I guess?! Along with “are we done?” 😅)

    1. At my first communion, nearly 50 years ago, my four-year-old sister yelled out “how’s it taste, Dowwy?! “
    2. The bishop was celebrating Mass at my special education school. His homily was going on way too long, and he was intent on letting every student speak into the microphone who wanted to. They all wanted to! Bodies were wiggling all over the place, and we teachers may have given each other a look or two! My third grade student, Josh, leans over and whispers in my ear, “ Sister Dolores, he’s talking too long!” “I know,“ I whisper back, “we just have to be patient and try to listen.“ After mass the bishop had lunch with the staff. “You know,“ he says with an incredulous look on his face, “there was a kid who came up to me at communion. When I said ‘Body of Christ,’ he answered, ‘Amen, too long!!!’ What do you think he was talking about? “ 😂 I do hope the bishop actually got Josh’s message, but I wasn’t going to clarify it if he didn’t!

Nope. In the Wisconsin Synod Lutheran Church of my early childhood the minister would have stopped the service and the offender pointed out and asked to leave, escorted by ushers if necessary. Thankfully we left that place.

Make sure the priest and laity don't give parents the stare when their kids start making noises. Fr. Jim from Seton parish called us out (passive aggressively) saying there was a cry room available the first time we went to church there. Not a welcoming message to congregation if you care about souls.

All are welcome in my parish, but if you are intolerant of small humans, you may want to consider a different mass. We were ALL babies once!!
